Can’t believe all the food waste in America!! But that’s why we dumpster dive! So we can do all the food rescue that needs to be done.
Dumpsters are basically free storage units!
You just go out and dive into them and swim in all the free stuff!
You can be a dumpster scavenger too! Just go out and dive on in and take whatever you want!

Bananas can be mashed then drizzled with lemon juice to prevent browning then be frozen for future use in baking etc....

I read that it’s not the grocery stores fault that they throw away so much, they buy all that food because consumers, us customers always want a different variety of food, request the stores sell different kinds of food and a lot of people don’t like it or will ever buy it, so it all gets thrown out in boxes. Things are still ok to eat if it says, sell by this date. If you see an expiration date that’s near the actual date, don’t try to save it from the dumpsters. It could be a health hazard to you. Grocery stores don’t donate food that’s almost expired because someone of a lot of people could get very ill. A lot of grocery stores want to make money, of course, and want to get the customers in, so stores get bigger and more options. Even having this hot and cold little buffets to take food home, juice bars, a cheese counter, a chocolate counter and fancy bakeries, a deli with every station looking beautiful and rich looking. I think a lot of the food gets recycled, maybe for animal feed or mulch. Best thing to dumpster dive for is art supplies, paper, arts and crafts, clothes that’s not shredded up.. If you find makeup, make sure it’s sealed. Open makeup even after cleaning up, could still lead to sores or rashes. It’s great that he found all that produce, can you imagine making the biggest bowl of salad!
