Couple of points: first, this process is unlikely to be fast; so once a person discovers that his wallet is missing, he could immediately transfer the funds to another wallet. Second, a hardware wallet doesn't necessarily store any passphrase, so if the crypto owner is utilizing a passphrase, that'll give him extra time (to transfer funds) in the event that his wallet is lost or stolen.
@cyberscrilla would you go as far as sticking your ledger on a faraday bag? My mate is even going throug Caleb and Brown because he's certain theres going to be a quantum hack into wallets, whats your take on it?
Very good idea, with the only caveat being that if they don't have their seed phrase stored somewhere else, they won't be able to transfer the funds to safety.
@LiebsterFeind first of all, a passphrase should be easy to remember, since a person can select whatever passphrase that he wants; but yes, the passphrase should be stored in a location separate from the seed phrase; although a simple CLUE could be stored together with the seed phrase.
@@cyberscrilla The other really scary attack vector is buying a hacked unit online, like that (not so) old case where some 3rd party sellers were selling hardware wallets they knew the details of to unsuspecting customers, and then monitored the blockchain account for activity.

Hey mate, thanks for your education videos. I have a question, when using my wallet (ledger Nano) should I disconnect the computer from Wifi? Thanks, cheers
Absolutely not. That doesn’t even make sense. You need WiFi to communicate to the blockchain. The point of using a cold wallet is so you don’t have to worry about stuff like this.
I have a question , Im sure there Is someone out there multiple people out there even using AI to guess seedphrases and combination of words that are in the seephrases and they just keep getting lucky on discovering wallets do you recommend adding the passphrase and then that would make that process virtually impossible thank you brother
This has never happened to my knowledge and is virtually impossible at this point. The number possible combinations is so massive that you’re more likely to get struck by lightning every day of your life than someone (or something) is to guess your seed phrase. That said, yes, a passphrase helps to increase randomness
So the cold wallet your talking about so when you take your crypo off say robinhood pr coinbase or what other ones there are. And when your ready to sell you just transfer it back to what ever exchange you want to sell it on
@motogp2375 It’s slower when transferring to a centralized exchange. And many exchanges will give you an ETA (Kraken does this). Ultimately it depends on the crypto, what network it’s on, and the exchange you use. Average is 5 min to 1hr. Again, depends on the network.
I bought Trump coin and my ledger nano s plus doesn't support it so what would you recommend for me to do ? Thanks. I want to move it to my cold wallet .
What if you have hidden wallet within cold wallet. Will the hardware hacking get into those? I still think there's a place for paper wallets in some cases if done right.
