I can only speak to my own experience - as a Christian, I was the person I was told to be. Even though I thought I was unique and making my own choices, I was still making the choices set before me. After a terrible time in my life when no one supported me but myself, I had to learn who I truly was to literally survive. I realized I had hated myself for being so “wrong” and “evil” and didn’t actually know who I was. I didn’t need to go out and “sin” to find myself, I needed to actually learn who I was based on the choices I really wanted to make in life. It took years, but I am no longer religious and I am the healthiest and happiest I’ve ever been. I truly love myself because I know how strong I am. I don’t necessarily think a god doesn’t exist, but I don’t think religion knows who or what that god truly is. This is what I believe Damien is truly referring to - understanding what is truly good and evil to figure out who you actually are. There are things I was told were good all my life that were hurting me, and vice versa. I still have trauma from that. But now I know and I can say I am truly me.
@@baconloverr5 exactly. I realized that it’s ok to understand the capacity mankind has for evil, but considering myself rotten to the core was destroying me. It made me (and apparently everyone else) see the worst in myself. Now I acknowledge my flaws and actually work on them instead of saying “well I’m not God so I will never be good.” On top of that, I never felt so judged and wrong than when I was around other Christians, the same people who are specifically told to not judge lest they be judged equally.
Loved this comment. I am spiritual as I believe in God but I don’t conform to any organized religion. Those are based on man made rules which, by our very nature, are fallible. Even priests and the Pope are human and, therefore, fallible. Not only that but many “religious” people are extremely hypocritical and judgmental when they live in glass houses. My relationship with God is personal and not related to what other humans think. Borahae 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
@@yourfriendlyneighborhoodsim Your post is so beautifully expressed, so profound in the way only something true and deeply felt can be. I used to be a fundamentalist Christian. And I kept questioning things and feeling guilty about questioning those things in the first place. And why are my contemporaries telling me who or what God is, literally claiming to speak for this God. Like you, I will never be trapped by human beings again under the guise of religion. I'm so glad you're doing much better, and are free. I abandoned religion but not Jesus Christ. Only I'm on a personal quest to know who that Christ really is, outside of the dreams of men, and the bible they put together.
it is not about committing sin and you already know your identity, talk about temptations, innocence and knowledge, once you start to grow you have an idea about good and evil, that you begin to suffer temptations, your innocence is lost, that is why it says that humans are not beings of light we are sinful beings because we come with original sin, we are tempted and we must not deny that this is in our existence and we must love each other as we are still sinners, that is what you mean by embracing the chaos in you, that's what it's about to know your identity as a human being conscious of good and evil. Adult life is full of temptations and we must know ourselves and accept ourselves in order to cope with those temptations, that is what the video and its explanation refer to. I hope you understand.
When I was getting into BTS, my bias was Tae (he still is) but i was getting really bias wrecked by Jimin all the time. After I watched bs&t, I was so awed by him that I decided that he should be my bias too... lol. I swear even if Jimin isn't your bias, its nearly impossible to not get bias wrecked by him in this MV 😭
I think the explanation limited the story to just giving it a religious connotation, it only focused on the struggle of good and evil but the story in fact does not have a religious perspective. The story is more than that, a journey to personal self-realization where You try to build yourself as a person, where the evil that you know when you go out into the outside world is necessary, in order to reach that balance that you want it is necessary to go through all the stages that Sinclair goes through, in fact the god Abaraxas is a god with duality that represents good and evil, that is, the explanation the girl gives makes it look like a fight between good and evil, but abaraxas is the representation that you must accept both parts of yourself, the good one, the bad one, that is, accept all your nuances. He also needed to explain it from the perspective of the archetypes that each member represents, not just Tae.
As a Christian.. a BTS army since 2018..i respectfully want to make a point of fact per the Bible not denomination. Adan and Eve sinned disfollowing Gods commandments. Thus humankind were cursed. We are born with a sin nature and have to fight temptation. In order to find self. That is a gift from God when we accept him in our life. We are not perfect. But when we sin and ask him for forgiveness he forgives. His Holy Spirit lives with in us. This enables us to realize our true identity. That said, we all have free will and the right to choose our life paths. Sorry for the long post . I pray joy and fulfillment of self in your life! Borahae 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🫶
Hi guys. V represents a fallen angel (that's why he lost his wings) that leads Jin to fall in front of the temptation of sin representing Jin kissing the statue of "Lucifer"
I think it's about knowing your own light and dark sides (nobody is 100% good, perfection doesn't exist), and accepting it as a normal thing. You know? I know a lot of people who are very religious till the moment bad things happen to them. Their faith is broken instantly! That's chaos. After learning and accepting your gifts and flaws, you can work on them. That's life! It's not a bubble where you think you are protected and, in fact, you're just being blind to real life, where goodness and evil coexist. It's not about committing sins to grow up, but being real, and learning how to deal with the darkness when it happens. Of course, this is just mho, it doesn't mean it's the truth.
How can one truly appreciate sweetness,if they've never tasted sour? One must" recognize" the evil/ chaos that makes up this world in order to combat this. Living in a bubble serves no purpose, its the struggle that gives birth to joy/happiness/love. Just an opinion. Thanks guys, always interesting💜🫡
In everyday life, chaos comes to you whether you ask for it or not, you don't need to look for the trouble, but when shit hits the fan, it's the way you react to the situation will tell you who you really are. You though you're someone, but your reaction most of the time proves you otherwise, and you learn/grow from that as it shapes you. This is how I understand.
It is also important to remember that all BTS music videos, even the solos, are telling the storyline of the BTS universe, they all have references to the BTS universe (fictional), all the scenarios, all the mini films, all the shorts and even previews everything is involved in the BTS storyline, you should react to this storyline because that way you will better understand the MVS, the references and even the clothes they wear, everything is connected, the solos, the MVS, the mini videos they record beforehand, It's all a connected story
Hoping that you guys will start reacting to explanation vids, I do think it's an integral part when it comes to reacting to BTS' music and Blood Sweat and Tears is the exemplar for that. The BST explanation by a channel called "Don't Worry I'm Not Afraid" is what I'm going to be always recommending. It's concise and precisely made video. Also, can't wait to see y'all react to the dance practice of this, easily in my top list of their best and iconic choreographies. Edit: well nvm then 😂 I commented first before watching the whole vid, got too excited. Still appreciate y'all for checking it out tho 💜
BS&T is only a chapter in a very thematic album that is an intense exploration of self that can at times be uncomfortable. It's easy to be pious without knowing temptation. But what would you choose when an opportunity came by to ease your suffering? How much would you bend your principles? What if the pain was too much to bear? The song is about temptation and is titled 'Blood, Sweat & Tears' referring to hard work. It's a struggle between the two. What do you choose at the end of that struggle? It's easy to make a righteous choice in a black and white world, but that is an illusion. As most of us move into adulthood, we come face to face with an incredibly complex and chaotic world. At the end of the video, we are left with a cliffhanger - after the knowledge of sin, who are you really?
Ahhh Jiminshiiiii, I love the way he interprets the song with those moves and expressions, I love his voice, dance moves and face expressions, eveything.
Many thesis papers have been written about this music video. There is no one like BTS. Western pop music pales in comparison. RM, in particular, is a brilliant writer. He reads philosophy commentaries for fun! He encouraged the other members to read "Demian" by Hermann Hesse. The publishers saw an increaae in demand after the release of this mv. The power of BTS. 😊 The members' individual religious beliefs have never been explained, .although Army has several theories. Only RM has said he is an athiest.(professional Army please update me if nec.) Thanks for playing the explanation video right afterwards, so many reacters don't bother. 💜💜
RM said 'you may be tempted and may wander. It is,also part of the journey to find yourself.' I used religion as a metaphor, but they're not actually talking about religion. Their MVs are profound in content and organically related to other MV, so you can understand it as the concept of the album. I really enjoy your reactions so much. Thanks💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I feel like in this MV, Jimin locks you in with hypnotozing eyes and V and Jin make you think about it for a long long time. Fun fact: Jimin helped write the main melody of this song, as said by Jin in one of their lives. Jhope really carries the chorus , he's so powerful.
Sugaaaaa❤❤❤❤he represented his parts well and our maknae line and jhope slayed in dancing,,rm literally whispered the purpose of the song atlast our world wide handsome slayed Totally the song is masterpiece ot7 💜 forever ♾️💜
To me it’s really about awareness and choice. It is not saying you need to sin, but that you are aware that both good and bad exists in the human condition, and we have the potential for both. Our choice is what will determine who we are. Look at it this way, you really cannot appreciate happiness unless you have encountered some sadness. If you only have success, then what happens with that first failure? I know of some people who were always given everything they wanted, but the minute they were denied something they were unable to handle that. It’s the same thing. It’s not that you give up your beliefs, but expand them to include the acknowledgment that there is darkness. You can’t have one without the other. And we have all made some bad decisions one time or another. But we can grow from those choices, do better, be better.
Temptation is a part of life that no one can avoid, no matter how religious you are. This is all about reacting to temptation and knowing it's there, but still choosing to be good. That is how you truly know yourself and know you are good. Giving in to temptation also tells you a lot about yourself. I don't believe for one second that there's a single person alive or dead who hasn't given in to temptation at some point in there lives. It's always there and how we deal with it forms who we are
I think all of us have good and evil in ourselves. However, we are born in goodness, but we have the ability to sin and do evil. So the chaos inside is just who you are as a human being and it’s up to you as you grow to choose which path you’re going to follow.
Exactly, this is more close to the ideology I believe in/follow as a Muslim as well....we are born clean but obviously we have bith seeds inaide of us and based on what we do in life we nurture one side more than the ither and that shapes what we become (good or evil/bad)
You guys have to remember when you watch these videos and read the lyrics, how talented and educated all 7 members of BTS are. There's wide symbolism in all of their songs and videos, including their individual works. I feel like I learn something new about their works each time I watch and hear them. Luv your rxn. vids - keep 'em coming!
What is being conveyed is the concept that individuals are confronted with a choice between virtue and malevolence, and the decision made reflects one's true nature. It is believed that God grants us the autonomy to select our path. The inner conflict we experience may not only materialize physically but also emotionally and mentally. The contrast between a constructive and pessimistic mindset is not absolute, as one possesses the ability to transition from obscurity to enlightenment. Although it is typical for individuals to navigate arduous paths filled with challenges, it remains within our power to either persevere in hardship or pursue a more advantageous direction. Ultimately, life is a sequence of decisions that mold our journey.
The simplest explanation I can give for this MV in my opinion is that you need to understand the good and bad that’s within you to grow. First step in changing is to identify the problem. If you can’t admit your faults then you can never improve.
The way I see life is that we are born into the world pure, I mean a newborn baby, their eyes on the world, they say the most innocent of things not understanding what they mean, they parrot what is around them. They then learn from those around them, both good or bad and that starts to form their identity. So to me there is a purity about life being born into it, however its the world that shapes us, from family, friends, school, work, life in general. But there are soooo many other theories of life.
Loved your reaction. Even after such a dark deep dive of this song. Can i just say after all that BTS never takes themselves serious. They do like making parodys / making fun of their music videos. There is one of of Blood Sweat and Tears. This was shot mostly in their own dorm that they shared at the time. My fave part is where Suga played the statue with wings, so he has little wings on and Jin tries to kiss him and Suga being bad ass stops him immediately and kung fu him. Jin falls way onto a bed. This was his and Suga actual bedroom which they divided to share. Its amazing to see these world famous kings living a simple life in simple rooms. The scene woth Jimin and Jhope its their single beds not even a meter part. Thats how simple they lived versus out there the rockstars living in mega mansions. They only moved out permanently into their own homes in 2021. The never took themselves serious. You will recognise all the scenea matched up between the parody versus the MV. Enjoy 💜💜💜💜
You cannot believe in just good there is evil.I think what they are saying is it is our choice to choose what door we want. When you are young it’s easy to get it confused.
Temptation, growing up, experiencing the two doors the good and evil, trully knowing yourself your limitations and skills/qualities in order to achieve greatness.
dibs on josh kim lol but cant ever wear that baseball shirt unbutton again ! i had to watch the video again i wasnt even sure what they watched lol see temptation i so didnt pass but now want to go to Australia
I really love this song thank you, you haven't seen V on stage yet and you should watch V singularity live in stage tokyo or stage mix and stigma and his album performances too 🤟🏻 ♈️
Absolutely all BTS clips are based on the Bangtan Universe (BU) that is, through clips, songs and even notes, we are told the story of 7 teenage friends with different social problems and traumas, so that everyone can find themselves in them, to help and heal listeners through them. so it's much deeper than it seems at first glance, but it's really hard to understand because there are too many nuances, it can blow up the brain and you have to spend enough time. The army has been building theories and sorting out all the details for many years, and fortunately not so long ago the official drama BU “youth” was released. It doesn't matter if you understand the universe or just prefer to bypass it and enjoy the visual, this is the choice of every army. I just want to add that BTS so write brilliant and deep songs that save people from depression and teach them to love themselves, but if you dig deeper and figure it all out, then a completely different world of genius opens up. In my case, a few years ago, it saved my life💜
I think you need to understand the entire BTS Wings Era to be clear on what is being conveyed. The concept of Abraxas includes a different interpretation to the meaning of the apple in the Garden of Eden. Abraxas offers the apple which is knowledge. That brings all sorts of possibilities including use for good or evil, temptation, learning, creativity, and more. Eden was an unchallenged perfect state wherein conformity to a fixed order would provide bliss. Accepting knowledge meant people would develop unique selves. Abraxas via knowledge freed possibilities which were not within the conformist Eden formula for how to live. So I think B, S, and T is not about accepting inner sinfulness but accepting your compete inner possibilities understanding that may open you to both good and bad temptations.
Just fyi. In every song, mv, every prop is placed strategically. The song may say 1 thing, but the props are either saying another or an embellishment of the lyrics. That’s the power that BTS has. That’s the hook. That being said, now you have to review all their songs lolol. Oh, and Butter…..is a dirty song 🤣💜
If you really want to understand this song and video I recommand to watch he reaction of video editor Jordan Orme, he perfectly explain it and understands it. Then you we will so much more appreciate BTS, their lyrics, their MV's everything has a meaning....they are seven talented genius guys, you got about 400 songs to go ...enjoY
BTS encourages ARMY to find their 'own theory' of the music, lyrics and MV imagery. I really love the philosophical discussion you all had, listening well to each other. And you don't have to agree with each other, nor this theory either, as there are many different explanation theories besides this video. In fact ARMY created whole sessions, discovering the symbolism and ironing out theories for months after this MV came out. But what is known for certain 'the book Demian by Herman Hesse and the underlying philosophical concepts of Nietzsche, have been confirmed by BTS' as the basis for the song and MV-so its a good starting point. The essence of the story is about growth through exploration and experience. Even the concept of 'sin' is framed around the idea of good and evil, rather then simply an outcome of choice in the developing mind, (the brain develops in stages long after we are born). We do things that are good for us and things that aren't. As a young child learns to make choices -- parents guide and protect them from choices that could cause harm. But at the same time parents also help the child to understand 'consequences' of that choice. As you make hundreds of choices every day, over many years, and various experiences, you eventually grow into who you 'become'. Enjoying you all. "Keep going, you nice!"~Jimin of BTS.
You don't necessarily need to sin to discover who you are. You just need to acknowledge that sin and temptations (evil) exists. You are not truly good yet you are not truly evil, you are human. Whichever you decide to feed more (good/evil) becomes you.
Beautifully expressed.

This is what I believe Damien is truly referring to - understanding what is truly good and evil to figure out who you actually are. There are things I was told were good all my life that were hurting me, and vice versa. I still have trauma from that. But now I know and I can say I am truly me.
I’ve had the same experience growing up and leaving religion. I feel so free now. I hated feeling so guilty and shameful for just being a person.
@@baconloverr5 exactly. I realized that it’s ok to understand the capacity mankind has for evil, but considering myself rotten to the core was destroying me. It made me (and apparently everyone else) see the worst in myself. Now I acknowledge my flaws and actually work on them instead of saying “well I’m not God so I will never be good.”
On top of that, I never felt so judged and wrong than when I was around other Christians, the same people who are specifically told to not judge lest they be judged equally.

Your post is so beautifully expressed, so profound in the way only something true and deeply felt can be.

KING OF KPOP THEE PARK JIMIN 👑🔥
it is not about committing sin and you already know your identity, talk about temptations, innocence and knowledge, once you start to grow you have an idea about good and evil, that you begin to suffer temptations, your innocence is lost, that is why it says that humans are not beings of light we are sinful beings because we come with original sin, we are tempted and we must not deny that this is in our existence and we must love each other as we are still sinners, that is what you mean by embracing the chaos in you, that's what it's about to know your identity as a human being conscious of good and evil. Adult life is full of temptations and we must know ourselves and accept ourselves in order to cope with those temptations, that is what the video and its explanation refer to. I hope you understand.
Jimin stares at the beginning 🔥🔥
When I was getting into BTS, my bias was Tae (he still is) but i was getting really bias wrecked by Jimin all the time. After I watched bs&t, I was so awed by him that I decided that he should be my bias too... lol.

Hi guys. V represents a fallen angel (that's why he lost his wings) that leads Jin to fall in front of the temptation of sin representing Jin kissing the statue of "Lucifer"
Someone should clarify at this point that Lucifer is Damien's rather😂😂😂
Poor boys can't keep up🤦🏻♀️
"Spring Day" , Let's go
I think it's about knowing your own light and dark sides (nobody is 100% good, perfection doesn't exist), and accepting it as a normal thing.
Jimin in this song is everything
Jimin is so handsome and sexy, God🛐😵💫
In everyday life, chaos comes to you whether you ask for it or not, you don't need to look for the trouble, but when shit hits the fan, it's the way you react to the situation will tell you who you really are. You though you're someone, but your reaction most of the time proves you otherwise, and you learn/grow from that as it shapes you. This is how I understand.
Please react to ,,"V" Tiny desk. Wonderful, and amazing

!!!!!!
Not true, not all music videos are BU related.
Nah not all their videos are related to the BU, but they are all deep and have their own storylines regardless

Jimin is something else ❤️🩹
Ahhh Jiminshiiiii, I love the way he interprets the song with those moves and expressions, I love his voice, dance moves and face expressions, eveything.
Many thesis papers have been written about this music video. There is no one like BTS. Western pop music pales in comparison. RM, in particular, is a brilliant writer. He reads philosophy commentaries for fun! He encouraged the other members to read "Demian" by Hermann Hesse. The publishers saw an increaae in demand after the release of this mv. The power of BTS. 😊
The members' individual religious beliefs have never been explained, .although Army has several theories. Only RM has said he is an athiest.(professional Army please update me if nec.)
Thanks for playing the explanation video right afterwards, so many reacters don't bother.

I feel like in this MV, Jimin locks you in with hypnotozing eyes and V and Jin make you think about it for a long long time. Fun fact: Jimin helped write the main melody of this song, as said by Jin in one of their lives. Jhope really carries the chorus , he's so powerful.

This is what I love about BTS- behind the beautiful faces, bodies, coreo there are thinking, feeling humans in a complex universe
Jimin it boy ❤

Temptation is a part of life that no one can avoid, no matter how religious you are. This is all about reacting to temptation and knowing it's there, but still choosing to be good. That is how you truly know yourself and know you are good. Giving in to temptation also tells you a lot about yourself.
I don't believe for one second that there's a single person alive or dead who hasn't given in to temptation at some point in there lives. It's always there and how we deal with it forms who we are
JIMIN is amazing, I love his voice tone 🤍

If you can’t admit your faults then you can never improve.
old bts' mvs are everything, keep watching them 🤩

PARK JIMIN THE KING OF KPOP 🤴 🇰🇷

In my case, a few years ago, it saved my life💜
6:38 "Mate am I straight am I gay... why my face cracking ?" HAD ME DYING 💀

It all comes from Namjoon's intellect and his never-ending curiosity of the human condition.
I suggest u to react to run jin.. Its like run bts
