Ya, Wiedman sucks, and is old so he cheats. The UFC could easily come up with gloves to prevent eye pokes, but they don't care. Bud light, eye pokes, and painted fingernails are priorities for them.

I'm a fan of Weidman but he knows what he did, there's no way you don't stick your finger in someone's eye especially with a left and a right two-piece at the same time and not feel that gushy sensation. And then to be so hard up for a win that you jump around like a maniac like you did something wonderful. That was a real BS decision and the ref is a buffoon along with the commission there. Weidman with his fingers continually out got in about four or five eye pokes and probably would have had more had the fight continued. Best is Silva punched him in the eye as he was poking Silva in the eye and that little goblin of a ref said you're both at fault. He shouldn't be in there ref'ing with anybody over 5 ft 5 as I guess he's too short to get a good perspective. I'm chalking that up to yet another loss for Weidman. Basically a HomeTown and Home Country decision there because Silva got royally F'ed.

That same ref had three separate fights , all with highly questionable finishes. The Algio fight could definitely gone longer (at least have Algio fall once before calling it) & he was involved in the earlier fight that had an eye poke finish also. My man was betting heavy in AC casinos

What are people mad at? Went to the score cards as it should have. If you wanna be mad at anyone, it should be the ref. Not saying Weidman should’ve been celebrating after watching that replay of the 1-2 Poke Poke. Either way, he won alll three rounds aside from the 9 eye gouges. The ref is to blame, Chris had his fingers poking out the whole fight and the ref never once warned him to close his fists, it was like watching a fight from the Zuffa era. That ref should lose his job or get more training. Every other ref warns fighters as soon as they see it. A no contest makes the most sense, use the controversy for hype and book a rematch.
Exactly! As soon as the fight started, I was commenting on his fingers. Then Weidman just kept eye-poking until the disgusting end - and then patted himself on the back.

@@psycheeight082 he didn’t warn them until after the poke, the point I am making is the ref never warned him to close his fist in the opening minutes of the first round or at any point. When refs see a fighter extending his fingers it’s up to them to warn the fighter to close the fist, instantly. Chris had his fingers out the whole time and the ref let it go.

People need to remember that there are going by boxing rules with the athletic commission and if an accidental foul causes the fight to end then it goes to the scorecards and that's exactly what happened. Nobody should be mad
