    After purchase: My UDO super 6 is now a production beast!. All went fine, installed it following the UDO tips of uploading/replacing (factory) patches. Thanks for your work. Super 6 is so much fun and soundwise an intuitive monster. You cannot not be creative with it.

      @@HiLoMusic hard financial times. I have no choice. Long story. Im one of roughly half a million Wisconsin residents filling for unemployment each week and not getting payed due to our broken system. MajorOSC alone cant keep me and my family solvent much longer. funds have dried up despite many efforts to gain exposure. Synthtopia, a site with well over 500,000 clicks monthly, emailed me 4 weeks ago telling me she's going to publish a story about MajorOSC. Nothing has been published since then and no reply when I followed up. That one pissed me off the most because things would likely be much different if she hadn't flaked out and innavertently fucked my company's best chance at mass exposure. Probably was expecting I buy ad space in exchange. Funny thing is I can't buy shit if I don't make money due to the fact that nobody knows my site exists. Aside from one additional bank for hydrasynth, I'm basically done for a while. On the plus side, I'm designing presets for a few synths that have not yet been announced. I'll likely be doing more of this sort of thing in the future and less majorosc direct sales.

      @@MajorOSC I think to sell SUPER 6 in your case is a clever idea. You will probably get good money in the US as long as it is not distributed there. And currently you will not get more sound colours out of it as you already did. As soon as there is a software available which enables the possibility of modulation from anywhere to everywhere with multitimbrality, a new game starts. I wish you the best for your future, the patches sound really nice and I may have to get them soon.

    Hey @majorOSC thanks so much for this epic setup of patches just bought it yesterday and loving them. I have a question.... how do you reverse engineer how you put the patch together? I'm particularly interested in Patch F7 which if you hold it down it has this slow BEAT that builds up and then fades away and then comes back again... so sick I think I'm going to make a song out of it.... I would just love to know how you did it though????? thanks for your help.

      I am kinda sick of the OVERSATURATION of ambient soundsets for synths, both analog and digital. With the Korg Opsix in particular, I feel like people are missing out on so many features that it has just to make sounds that more or less any other FM synth can make, but like... It can do so much more than FM, but no one except one or two videos really show that off

      Depends. Cobalt8 is worth a look if you love the analog pluck sounds. It's one of my favorite. Lovely keybed. Won't set you back more than 800. Summit sounds phenomenal and the external effects can be used for any other Synth. I don't own super 6 anymore but it's a cool synth too, same fatar keybed as cobalt. Very pricey though.

      There's a Juno square, and a saw that I liked, but can't confirm if it is indeed a Juno saw. It's a softer saw for sure so it'll definitely take on a juno-ish life of its own. I think it's waveform 15 or 14 if I remember correctly.

    Great demo thanks. This Super 6, the Hydra, and Deepmind have got me in a bind as to which one to buy. Can I ask your preference between Super 6 and Hydra and why? Both sound awesome. Do you think Hydra has the edge on sound design, and does Super 6 have the edge on fatter analogue sound?

    • @kiko1935
      @kiko1935 3 роки тому +1

      I don't own neither but I've watched a bunch of this dudes videos and I think you kind of hit the nail on the head. From what it seems like the hydrasynth is a sound designers dream you can do all these crazy things with all these envelopes however it does take a bit more work to get fat analog sounds. Conversely I think the Super 6 has an amazing filter but you're not going to have the same flexibility as the Hydra. Again I am talking pretty much completely out of my ass here but that is the takeaway and I too am in a similar bind with the summit and the Hydra, I would love the super six but I don't have the cash

    • @PacificIslandDrive
      @PacificIslandDrive 3 роки тому +2

      They are all different sounding synths. The Hydrasynth uses digital wavetables, and though it can emulate analogue, subtractive analogue, FM, etc, it doesn’t have the same warmth and 3D sound that you will get with the Super 6. Otherwise, the Hydrasynth truly excels at digital wavetables (like Waldorf synths), that have a lot of movement (besides standard LFO’s). I tend to enjoy using my Hydrasynth for sounds that the Super 6 (and or Deepmind) would not do well at. Otherwise, the Deepmind (6 & 12), is somewhat more similar to a thin-gritty Super 6, without the thick 3D sound.
      IMHO, if you want a beginners poly synth that can emulate the Roland June 60, your best bet is the Deepmind. Otherwise, if you want a poly synth that can better match a Roland Jupiter 8, but with much more of a modern-day 3D sound, you can’t go wrong with the Super 6.

    Great job!!! I find it strange that hardly anyone is doing this kind of ‘musical’ demo of the ‘PolyBrute’, because the whole point of a polyphonic synth, is the ability to create popular music.

      Let me correct you:
      First of all, it would be really nice if these sound demos would be done by somebody who can actually showcase them within the context of a music.
      Second point: Synths were or are created to play any genre of music.

      mitsa nut Yes, I understand that many polyphonic synths can be used for atmospheric, ambiance, soundscapes, random-noise, etc, and the term ‘music’ is highly speculative. However, when it comes to ‘popular music’, I don’t know of any ‘modular’ sound composers with platinum albums (if there are, I’ve never heard of them). Thus, you would ‘think’ that the ultimate goal of a company developing and selling a polyphonic synthesizer, should be focused on those whom are more likely capable of performing popular music on them. With that said, I’m old, and I could be wrong... maybe the poly-synth market primarily caters to wealthy sound tinkerers, and I should change careers, and start developing things that make random noise :-)

    Are the 14 waveforms which you offer in the pack different from the factory waveforms? Why do you provide them because I found you say it is not necessary to use them? Do the patches need them to sound better?

    • @MajorOSC
      @MajorOSC  3 роки тому +2

      Nope they should sound fine either way. There really aren't that many of them that rely on the custom waveforms and the ones that do sound pretty decent even using factory ones. They're added for your enjoyment and to experiment and create your own original stuff with.

    • @fiscaldisco5234

      I've been comparing it to other synths all week long. I haven't played the Super 6, but I have played the Peak and OB-6. Both very good, extremely powerful and well designed synths IMO. In terms of their sound design options, both have crazy complex and unique options. As far as the sound, I think the OB-6 and peak have a slightly more modern, darker texture sound. Those as well as Prophets have a very hi-fi sound to me that is amazing if you're looking for silky or huge machine-like sounds (think Bladerunner). But I think they miss something that I'm looking for. I want a synth that sounds more like a Roland analog synth (Juno 106, Jup 8). I think the Super 6 can get MUCH closer to those characteristics. The pads and brass patches sound cheesy in a good way. I want to use my poly synth to sound more like Prince than Bladerunner, and I think this is the funkiest/vintage sounding synth option without buying real vintage. (PS: Roland has newer synths that have that sound, but their sound design interface sucks IMO).

      The Peak and OB-6 have much better filters, which is my biggest issue with the UDO. Otherwise I'd say the UDO trumps the Peak.
