Oh my, I love the look on her face, and the vibrato, clean tone, and intonation excellent job
Great performance of some lovely music. And the violinist shows such spirit! Glad to see that she has recovered from her accident.
A transcendently beautiful piece, rendered exquisitely by a true virtuosa, the lovely Rachel Barton Pine, who truly epitomizes "the triumph of the human spirit over adversity," considering the terrible accident that could have taken her life. An incredibly talented yong lady who plays like an angel - I salute you!

8:49 del gesu's have a signature tone on the lower registry (d & especially the g string). hear the same operatic, echoey sonorous mellows on chang's guarneri. must be the bigger body.
I am not a Native english speaker so can someone tell me who is the composer rachel was talking about at the begining?
Maud Powell. Not a composer, but the first US women violin virutuoso.
The composer is Amy Beach (1867-1944) American. Amy composed the piece for Maud Powell, and accompanied her, at the world premiere performance in Chicago in 1893.
