This is my translation from Japanese to English in purpose of educating the Western audience of the cast interviews for Yakuza 6, involving the main voice actors Takaya Kuroda aka Kiryu Kazuma, Hidenari Ugaki aka Goro Majima, Shun Akiyama, Yuta, and Takeshi Kitano.

@@ibrahimfahad5041 Remove Kiryu's story and substories and the game still has more content than Kiwami, Kiwami 2, 3 and 6. You can complete most of the completion list with one character alone.
Majima is a side character who supposedly was going to be an unredeemable jackass but the fandom fell in love with him after the PS2 games. How much has he appeared since then? Almost nothing, he wasn't even going to be featured in 8 but they said they gave him a small role for the fans.
The idea for making a prequel for Kiryu existed for the longest time but decided to also feature Majima because his role in the main series was virtually over and they wanted to thank the fans for their support and it showed. Majima's part is much better, he carries it almost by himself whereas Kiryu's relies heavily on the characters of Kuze, Awano, Shibusawa, Oda and Tachibana.
Or at least another Majima Saga attached
Just listening to Kiryu's VA makes me feel like a hostess during one of the dates.
His voice is so goddamn smooth

He is actually an actor, he played yagami light in the first live action adaptation of death note in early 2000s

The actor who voiced Yuta is actually Shishio from live action Rurouni Kenshin movies, Kyoto Infernal Arc.
They did this for many characters. Kuze, Awano and Shibusawa are also lookalikes of their VAs. I love when they do this.
The fact that kiryu's voice actor loves yakuza to the point where he'd recommend it to those who are just getting into the series puts a huge smile in my face

Hidenari Ugaki has more screen time in this than he does in Y6! Love Beat Takeshi, too--he has so much range.

4:58 - Man, that hits hard right now. I hope they can bring Akiyama (and Yamadera of course) back in the future.
I think that was my main issue with Y6 is that for being the "last time for Kiryu's story" (before it wasn't and then we are getting Gaiden and him in next main game lol), they really didn't have a lot of character interactions between Kiryu and people that were important to him, espically Majima.. Still enjoy Y6 but that was my main gripe.
It took the air out of 5's ending for me. Wish they'd just let him retire.
but it is the last story about kiryu, but not the last story with kiryu if that makes sense
gaiden is a spin off anyways so i wouldnt worry too much about that
It's a shame in general, cause majima and kiryu don't interact much from yakuza 3 onwards.
It also doesn't help that the other protags are really just accquaintances to Kiryu at best(on good terms, but not close, even akiyama).
Apart from haruka and the kids, most of the other people important to kiryu are either dead or forgotten after one game
On a side note, Kiryu's life after "death" is an open canvas for many good ideas, but can also risk being a franchise milking the cash cow over a beloved MC(while simultaneously showing less love to other popular characters like majima)
I'm quite optimistic with rgg's direction regardless. Even with their flaws, compared to other game developers, i have less cause for concern towards their games
@@RZ_2K Gaiden is most definitely about Kiryu, or Joryu, if you will.
And they also kinda rushed that game, can't believe they let a game that was intended to be a send off to the main character to be unfinished. A chunk of the map was missing and the gameplay had so many down grades that they didn't fix yet

Toru Hirose's actor, Kitano Takeshi, used to be the shadow host of Takeshi's Castle in the 80s! One might say the contestants had to beat through his defenses in the castle to win the game, which was really, really hard.
He also did some great movies. Some other actors in his movies appeared in some Yakuza games too

It's really disappointed knowing Majima and Daigo in the prison with poor reason. It's just like forcing them behind the bar because RGG can't handle a story with them involved.
thats a vast oversimplication... the entire point of 6 was to narrow the story down to focus on kiryu.. its more like Y3 than any other game in scope. Majima is a side character, same with daigo, and neither of them are hanging out with kiryu in a daily basis in the established lore... Ishin just released and have 4 battles with majima and he has a bunch of scenes there

@@michael99812 Keeping daigo in jail and majima as well makes sense, it hurts but it makes a lotta sense, at least they had some screentime, albeit it was very small it was better than just not explaining at all

Like half of the cast from Y3 and onward likeness is based on their actors. Some are even playable characters such as Tanimura and Nanba.
Yuta's design is modeled after their actor, just like in judgement series

Nostalgia hits, the legendary Beat Takeshi 🔥 looking back, it was a great game , didnt like the combat at the reduced map at first, but it made up with voiced side quest that felt more alive, the game has a relaxing vibe too, only thing that frustrated me is the lack of side story finder, what were they thinking? , I live for the side quests and I roamed around at random spots looking for them 😐
Ugaki makes you laugh, looks like he loves voicing Majima lol as he should!

4:58 i hope Koichi-san appears in 8 :( cuz from ive heard hes been busy on other works hes doing which is why hes absent on 7, and why Nick Ogata takes Akiyama's place in the story but i guess we should wait and see if Akiyama would be back on Yakuza 8, hes literally my favourite character in the series

6 was the first one I ever played. And after that I was like, "I gotta figure out why everyone keeps saying dragon of dojima like what even is that? and why is he a legend?" and so I played the rest of them starting with 0 and wow man. what an experience.

I'm surprised that Rikiya in 3 doesn't look anything like Tatsuya Fujiwara at all. Despite in Kenzan, the character Ito Itousai, VA did voice Kuwara in 2 who model on PS2 was impossible to have the likeness until Kenzan with advance tech for PS3. I wonder why 3 didn't have his face. Maybe Fujiwara face wouldn't look good with character's hair style?
It is interesting how some characters didn't have a likeness in the PS3 era but others did

It still baffle me that Takeshi is in a yakuza game after saying he hates video games. True that was in the 80-90's when he did and might have changed mind.
Beat Takeshi presumably still hates videogames but he and Nagoshi are drinking buddies and when Nagoshi offered him to look at the script, Takeshi was curious to try it out.

Does anyone know why they changed some character models to look like their voice actors (Kiryu, Kaorus father) but not others like Majima?
The way Ugaki says "Baka Yarou" whilst tilting his head makes him look as if he has tourettes XD I translated Baka Yarou to "Stupid Bastard" and is all the more hilarious because Majima just curses Kiryu for no reason at all LOL
Tatsuya Fujiwara appearance spoiled Yakuza 6 plot for me. I just know no one will spend a ton of money for a japanese oscar best actor ,and le it be a side character.
