They added a few mods that makes the game run faster and smoother. Its only for the newer version right now but they are going to be releasing something for older versions too and you don't exclusively need an nvidia gpu. It also boosts the fps on other gpus too :)
They are also gonna allow you to add your own mods soon too which would give you even more fps :D
