I might consider this one for an aqua-terrarium with turtles. Are the intake and outflow long enough for this? Because the water level is at least 30cm lower than the edge of the tank and I need both water intake and outtake to be under water. Actually it needs to be more as the water level drops as some evaporates. So at least 40cm down for both intake and outtake. The system is modular, but I am not sure if there are enough pieces to reach 40cm down. Or are these pieces also available separate?
Good video. Unfortunately, you made an important mistake. The filter media should be ordered from bottom to top, from coarse to fine, because the filter works from bottom to top. The water is rising. So you set the media the opposite way.
@@hirschtrinktwasser if the filter works bottom to top isn't the video correct, with the black heavy filter at the bottom, followed by the two white cotton-type trays, followed by biomedia? Thats physical>biological in order bottom to top.

Unfortunately I have been having a bad experience with these filters and Aquaels customer service. I purchased 3 of these filters and two of them have terrible issues with air spurting out of them. This seems to be a common problem in forums on the internet where air gets drawn into the inlet valves. Aquael released a version 2 model which tried to resolve the issue but unfortunately the new model is a lot worse than the version 1. My filters are only a few months old but Aquaels service has been awful and they don’t even respond to emails. Despite their obvious lawful obligation for them to fulfill their own warranty their customer care has been nonexistent.
Yes. They don't respond to e-mails at all. Other companies will respond to customers directly. They just ignore you. Or here where others can see they just fob you off on the retailer.
Did you ever get any resolution of your issues? I'm interested the Ultramax filters because I like the idea of the prefilter but your comment, among others, has given me pause. I'm especially concerned about the lack of support from Aquael. And its own response to you makes it sound like it's not helpful or responsive to customers' issues.

I'm confused about the images I have seen of this filter.. I want to buy the 1000, but I have seen two different versions. One looks the same as this, the other has two buttons (or similar) on the top. What are the differences?

A video showing how to reset this filter after cleaning because it is a nightmare to get it going again..I am literally about to smash it to bits with a hammer😁 I have been trying for hours to get it going with no luck.
after cleaning ANY filter you can do it by old school sip[hon method, imagine you don't have pump (like in eheim classic), put baskets with media inside, NO water fill - IT SHOULD BE EMPTY OF WATER! connect everything, suck output hose with your mouth until water is going in filter and siphon effect will do the rest...

Has anyone experienced the filter stopping to work? Not sure if this is whats referred to as airlock. Its a nightmare getting it atarted again

Hi, have you contacted the seller of the product? The normal route to dealing with product warranty issues is to contact the retailer first.
