  • Organized by textbook: learncheme.com/ A lumped capacitance model predicts the temperature of an object surrounded by a fluid as a function of time. Heat transfer occurs by convection only. If the object is cooler than the surrounding fluid, it heats up. Conversely, if the object is warmer than the surrounding fluid, it cools down. Made by faculty in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and processed by the Department of Chemical & Biological Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder.
