Replay!!! Another very thorough video! I love the simplicity and thought of apps like this for corporate intros and wedding ceremonies as you mentioned.
Thanks! And yeah, I need multitracking with my setup, so that’s what I’m using as well. But my old band definitely would have used this! And I actually use it for when I run sound for a wedding ceremony as well. That fade out makes it so easy and clean 🤘 Thanks for watching as always!
Cool app and good job, I love your videos. Similar to the app I use called ‘Soundboard’ but I’m gonna try it as it seems to have a bit more options. It might sound weird but I trust my iPad more than a laptop when it comes to live backing tracks.
@ Yeah, but still cheaper than buying an SPDS! 😜 However, yours seems really interesting, I like all the options that are available. Happy holidays mate!
Not a bad idea! Just don’t let your drummer get away with “well… I don’t need to come to practice then” 😂 It was my bass player in my old band who would do that, and they were the only person who would constantly forget their parts live 🤦
We use Moises so we can still practice regardless of which band member is late or can’t make it. Doesn’t need any prep either and brilliant for solo practice for any band member.👍👍
Thanks! As I mentioned in the video, Stage Traxx can do more like multitracking and full pages of lyrics. So with my cover band, I use stage Traxx. With my older original band, we would use Easy Performer (well, SoundCue at the time, but similar layout).
Hey Scott another great video! Funny I actually used SoundCue before I got into OnSong and then ST3 for the last five years or so Since SOundcue was removed from the App Store actually did pick up easy performer as well lol and I use it for dinner music be recorded or in between sets music and I am looking at using it as a back up for ST3 Keep up the great work!
Stage Traxx 3 does a lot more like full lyrics and multitracking, so I’m using stage Traxx because it fits my needs. However, with my old band, we would use something like this because we didn’t need all those other features 👍
Hello i am a drummer and i have one question about this app, can i used only for midi controler, because i have all of my information on my spd sx pro?Now i use midipad 2 app for change only the songs from my roland spd sx pro. Thanks for your video and best regards.
I guess you could use it just for the midi. Just put in blank tracks of audio and send midi. But I feel like a midi footswitch or something like that might be easier if I’m understanding you correctly
Thanks for watching, and you can use this app with any speaker basically. Just need that splitter cable, and then route the tracks to where you need to 👍
Amazing video as always ❤ I was thinking about app like this for android and I'm glad you tested it 😊 regarding the midi plugin, have you tried to connect multiple devices? I'm wondering if it is possible or I'll need some kind of splitter or something.
Thanks! And yes, this is a great device for sending to multiple different midi devices assigned to different midi channels: ua-cam.com/video/iWPTYBq0VdA/v-deo.htmlsi=aYgef8UnmIATH2P6
@ yeah fully understand but having been given the option of downloading an older version it still didnt work. On my iphone i got 6 buttons i could assign tunes to but the older version on the old ipad gave 3. I think it would be better to have 1 week free full evaluation. Its good and price is good imo but i am using a free version of Soundboard. Each to their own though as i only trigger spoken word files.
Nice App- but a little bit pricy as you mentioned in your video. It would be nice to have a xmas/ new years discount 😉! For 30 $/EUR it would be a no brainer for me. Iĺl stay with Stage Traxx 3 until then. As always : thank you so much for your videos!
Thanks! And the fact that it’s a one time payment makes it worth it imo. The number of times I used SoundCue back in the day. Maybe it will go on sale at some point. Thanks for watching and commenting 🤘
2:04 DA-DA DA DAAAAA!!! (Da-da da da) DA-DA DA DAAAAA!!! (Da-da da da) Da-da dum diddy dum diddy dum diddy da da da Sorry, but I can't help listening to that part in my head whenever I see the name of that song
I didn’t even realize my iPad still had a headphone jack so I could connect this way! So if you were doing this on a phone without a headphone jack, the 1/4in cable would connect 1/8in end > lightning adapter?
I will never understand why people are so anti Apple. Apple products truly are better and more reliable for music stuff live. This app is available for Android… but Apple IS the better choice. Look up Andrew Huang’s video on the topic. He developed a music app.
Apple has been in the forefront of creative applications since 1984, snd because of this it has alway been user-friendly. I stopped using windows based hardware when I lost a very important project for no apparent reason. I’m not a computer tech so I need something easy to get up and running. Apple works all the time, every time.
My experience has been that iPads are durable, long lasting, have a huge suite o programs and they just plain work. If you are going to use a tablet for music they are, essentially, the only way to go. Android tablets are almost a gimmick at times, don't offer much more than just a bigger screen vs an Android phone. However, PC vs MacBook; I've had a much different experience. Personally I've found MacBooks to be restrictive and unnecessarily expensive, but that just me and my situation.
@@wb1969 Thanks to open source programs from BlackMagic Studios, Adobe and several others; I think a case could be made that the gap between them on the creative front is quite different from what it was even 10 years ago. While I've not personally had the experience of losing a major project due to random hardware failure. I do know that it has been a problem for many, especially with certain manufacturers. I have had to get a new computer because a video card went out on a 7 year old PC.
What an amazing video! The suggestions you've made are great. We're definitely going to look into that! And thank you for your support😄🎶
Thanks for watching the video! You guys made a great app, and I was happy to make a video on it 🤘🤘
Replay!!! Another very thorough video! I love the simplicity and thought of apps like this for corporate intros and wedding ceremonies as you mentioned.
Thanks Brian!
Thanks for the video Scott... Happy Holidays to you and loved ones
Thanks! You as well 🤘
Thanks for the in-depth review Scott! I hope they could add the multitrack capability. I'm still good with the ST3.
Thanks! And yeah, I need multitracking with my setup, so that’s what I’m using as well. But my old band definitely would have used this! And I actually use it for when I run sound for a wedding ceremony as well. That fade out makes it so easy and clean 🤘 Thanks for watching as always!
As always, great stuff. Thanks
Thanks for watching!
I’ve used this for a year, it’s great
Nice!
Thanks Scott. Always appreciate your insight. This app has potential for my newest endeavour I think. Happy holidays!
Thanks for watching! And have a great holiday season 🤘
Cool app and good job, I love your videos. Similar to the app I use called ‘Soundboard’ but I’m gonna try it as it seems to have a bit more options. It might sound weird but I trust my iPad more than a laptop when it comes to live backing tracks.
Yeah I saw Soundboard. But it was like $160 for the full version, which is just too much haha
@ Yeah, but still cheaper than buying an SPDS! 😜 However, yours seems really interesting, I like all the options that are available. Happy holidays mate!
thanks scott, have a great christmas, good luck
Thanks, you too! 🎅
Awesome to offer a follow-up to a previous recommendation that is no longer available. Cheers!
I always try to when I can 🤘
Feliz Navadad, amigo!
You as well!
Great review and thank you for introducing the app😊
Thanks for watching!
We don't do backing tracks but this is very cool. We might do this for when the drummer can't make practice! Thanks
Not a bad idea! Just don’t let your drummer get away with “well… I don’t need to come to practice then” 😂 It was my bass player in my old band who would do that, and they were the only person who would constantly forget their parts live 🤦
@ScottUhlMusic lol. Well I am the bass player lol
We use Moises so we can still practice regardless of which band member is late or can’t make it. Doesn’t need any prep either and brilliant for solo practice for any band member.👍👍
Yeah I'd rather pay a larger chunk to buy outright than a subscription. In fact, I refuse to pay a subscription for an app no matter what it does.
I don't see a subscription for this app, but $33.00 is a fairly big price for an app!!
Great Video man! Do you prefer this app over stage traxx?
Thanks! As I mentioned in the video, Stage Traxx can do more like multitracking and full pages of lyrics. So with my cover band, I use stage Traxx. With my older original band, we would use Easy Performer (well, SoundCue at the time, but similar layout).
Would love to see a comparison video of apps like this vs ableton
My God! It’s 2am… I’ve been waiting. 🤠
😅 and a day early too! 😂

Nice! Yeah EasyPerformer has been a great replacement for SoundCue
I hope JamZone bring in midi out control
Yeah for sure! 🤘
Looks pretty good but tell me: does this replace Stage Traxx 3 for you? Seems quite similar.
Stage Traxx 3 does a lot more like full lyrics and multitracking, so I’m using stage Traxx because it fits my needs. However, with my old band, we would use something like this because we didn’t need all those other features 👍

Thanks for the video! Can you use this app with a Mackie Soundbox?
Thanks for watching, and you can use this app with any speaker basically. Just need that splitter cable, and then route the tracks to where you need to 👍
What's a good inexpensive tablet for using backing tracks and this app?
You can do an older iPad 👍
Amazing video as always ❤ I was thinking about app like this for android and I'm glad you tested it 😊 regarding the midi plugin, have you tried to connect multiple devices? I'm wondering if it is possible or I'll need some kind of splitter or something.

On an iPad, can you start a track & and then open another app (does it run in the background?) Thx!
Yup 👍 good question!
I like that is a one time payment, I do not like the subscription model. Thanks!
Agreed! Very nice to see that!
Does it import purchased tracks from Apple Music?
Yup 👍
Can I use it with Windows 11 laptop?
It’s meant for tablet and phones
Tried it on a older ipad but couldnt load songs. Works ok on my iphone. So try before you buy
This is true for every app… some apps need to work with a certain iOS 👍 So it’s nice that this is a free app with a pro option

I know! It’s confusing me 😅

Da-da dum diddy dum diddy dum diddy da da da
Sorry, but I can't help listening to that part in my head whenever I see the name of that song
And live, everyone goes into the chorus too early. Every. Single. Time. Hahaha. Gotta get through the 2nd verse before that part. 😂

Yeah, you can still do this with an adapter 👍
The more I do with sound/audio the more often I'm seeing people advocate for Apple devices .... I find this disconcerting.
I will never understand why people are so anti Apple. Apple products truly are better and more reliable for music stuff live. This app is available for Android… but Apple IS the better choice. Look up Andrew Huang’s video on the topic. He developed a music app.
@ScottUhlMusic for me it's more so MacBooks that I've had problems with, iPads I don't really have issues with.
