Greetings Avran! Based on your recommendations I was going to get Mercury or Mega Merc this season. But after your latest stream, where you talked about global shipping crisis and issues with supply pipelines, I realized that shit might not even make to Mother Russia before season. So after reading comments here about similarities between Mega Mecr and lasts year BSOD, I went to a local shop and sniped last 2021 BSOD which was waiting me there whole summer. Hope I did a good choose and the difference will be not that huge. Want to say a big thank you for all the effect and enlighten you bring to a snowboarders of the internet!

I have the 2022 BSOD and struggle to have fun riding it - too stiff to get good pop off rollers/side hits/jumps, etc. Takes more effort and I still get half the result compared to my other boards when I load up to pop off something. It's good for hauling ass through rutted out snow and steep terrain, but other boards can also do that while still having some actual snap. This is a dad snowboard - for those guys who only go straight and fast. It's built well but not the deck for me.

Based on your review and others I looked at I bought the 2022. I absolutely love this board and apart from breaking my rib cage last year at keystone from being an idiot, it has never disappointed me or made me feel like I needed another board for what I was doing. That said, I am trying to get more into side hits and putting more emphasis on glade runs and just trees in general. I LOVE Capita. Would you suggest a Mega Merc or a Super DOA? Or am I way off base for what I am trying to do? Basically, I want to do the freeride stuff I've been doing with the 22 BSOD but add in the occasional side hit if I'm feeling frisky and spending lots of time in tree areas. BSOD is emphasis on death when you get into the trees. Hahahaha

@@AngrySnowboarder Honestly, I am not entirely sure. I've been snowboarding 16 years and have always leaned more into All Mountain Freeride. The BSOD is the first directional board I have ever owned. So a twin I think is what I would want to have a little bit more play back and forth. As far as flex goes, I've never really had a soft flex board or anywhere close. So it's unfamiliar territory for me. Definitely softer than the 22 BSOD. Something with more torsional flex and can be more giving in those narrow tree areas to maneuver through the tracks in the glades. I'm trying to learn how to butter again but Its a full time job trying to on a BSOD. 😅 Still my favorite snowboard I have ever owned. I'm the first to the base everytime now with my friends. 😎

Would you day the Berzerker is more approachable than the BSOD, more like the 21?
I'm 172cm and 74 kg size 8 boot. I'm really close to pulling the trigger on the Berzerker and asking my shop to order me one for next year.
I plan on getting the 153 as I prefer shorter boards, and like to be quick and whippy.
Currently I'm riding an old timeless 148 from 2003 and looking for a modern board that will feel similar.l, something that snaps and pops me into each turn.
I carve, and free ride mostly.
But if the Berzerker is as stiff as the way you describe this BSOD sounds like it might not be what I'm after.

Ok so I'm a little confused. I know brands have their own way of determining flex, but this thing is super duper soft flexing imo compared to my 2021 iguchi pro camber.
This confuses me because people have said that the iguchi had a flex of 7 and it seemed true to the flex after the softer models of past years. If I had to compare this year's bsod to that, it's flex feels like a 5 and the iguchi feels like an 8. I wonder if I got a dud from capita or if it has to do with the rocker zones? Even when on the board the flex feels loose to me.
