Might be a late comment but I take this train soon from Zurich to Zagreb. I’d like to know if the bed was long enough for you so that I can be assured that I will have enough space 😅 ( I am 174 cm ). Great video though! Well explained.
@@LukaPOfficiel I'm 165cm tall and I had plenty of space left, I think the bed must have been at least 180cm long so you should be just fine. Wish you an amazing trip and have fun in Croatia!
nice video. did you ever used the other sleeping option? i believe it is 6 persons in a wagon or something like that ? and did i understand it correctly that there are no more border checkpoints as of 2023? thanks in advance.
I'm not the video creator, but I slept multiple times in the 6-person couchette wagon. It's a decent option if you can't get the full sleeper wagon from the video. It's a bit cramped for space if all 6 beds are occupied, since most people will be bringing a suitcase. If you're alone in it or with 2-3 people, it's pretty good. You get a shared bathroom for the whole wagon, a pillow and a blanket, a bottle of water and a croissant. The "beds" are decent, but not great. Regarding the border checkpoints, there are no checkpoints between Germany and Croatia anymore since Croatia joined the Schengen area in 2023.
Thank you! I've actually used the couchette with 6 berth in 2011 from Munich to Zagreb. Back then the cars were relatively new and a welcome change to other night trains which were solely using old cars. I've had good memories of them and will still recommend it if you can't afford a sleeper car ticket or if the sleeper car is sold out. Border checkpoints have disappeared from the Slovenian and Croatian border since 2023, because Croatia joined Schengen.
Thank you for commenting, I'll add my answer as well. I enjoyed the couchette cars of the HZPP back in 2011, but I'm not sure if I would have the same opinion in 2023 haha! Still, a couchette will be better than surviving the night on a seat. Couchette berths are usually very hard, that's something you should keep in mind when considering booking the couchette options. Most trains will let ou choose between 6 berth couchette or 4 berth couchette. Definitely go for the 4 berth as every one would have more space for themselves!
Hi my friend Is there passport control by trein between Croatia and Germany? Is it by trein controller or the border buildings? My passport actually is not valid
I’ll take this train from Zurich to Zagreb and back at the end of August.
So thanks especially for the room tour!
