This religion doesn't allow converters

Yazidism is one of the most mystical religions in the world. It is said that it was founded more than 6000 years ago, however few people know exactly. This reliogn does not allow converters, and cross religious marriage is prohibited.
We visited the holiest city in Yazidism, Lalish, situated in the northern part of Iraqi Kurdistan. This city is so holy that visitors are restricted to wear shoes or touch any objects as the religion believe in the natural spirits of each objects.

This is a Sanatani religion. We don't step on the door way, but over it. We light up the tea light and pray.

They claim not to accept any converts , but this is not totally true .In the 1950s & 60s they persuaded the last members of the Pagan Shamsiyah religion to convert and that was lead by the Yazidi Mir or prince Tahseen Said .Needless to say there are no Shamsiyah left today ,

No one is allowed to where shoes in the city (except the kid in front of the camera at 1:40 I guess who is sean quite clearly leaving the city with shoes on at 1:33) LoL. Also a bit funny how he quickly pulls the camera away from the dirty dirty kid. Clearly some shoes are allowed, I thought maybe children had a pass cuz they are children but I see a mother, or older woman next to a child both wearing shoes at 8:03. So I would guess that there is some exception as their is to any rule.

You are right, and there will always be some who don't practice the conecpt of not wearing shoes. Im not sure to be honest if there are exceptions for kids, but the general principle is still not to wear shoes or touch any objects there
