I have actually been trying to do this, but I probably won't record it (I don't record videos). When it's finished, I'll drop the mod pack name or maybe the link
I'm kinda surprised Ars Nouveau didn't get a showcase in the magic section - it follows a pattern of crafting together spells similar to Arcanus Continuum, but it can rapidly become very intricate between all the crafting recipes, the multiblock crafting and interactions, and it hosts a variety of magic schools that one can spec into. One aspect I really like is that you can add threads to the armor you can craft in the mod, and these threads can apply a variety of effects, from small stuff like reduced mana usage to big stuff like weaving a whole Totem of Undying into your armor that replenishes whenever you sleep! You should absolutely give it a look.
I was surprised Arcanus Continuum was shown but not Ars Nouveau, given how much more in-depth Ars Nouveau is while doing very similar things with it's spells
Vic's Point Blank is also an incredible gun mod for modern versions of minecraft, it's still new but they've already added survival mode compatibility and you can download custom gun packs made by other people
If it’s anything like old Vic’s Modern Warfare it’s not worth a dime. It was terribly optimized, both from code and modeling standpoint, had no interaction with other mods, crafting was broken, mobs were way too op, and the author was an absolute jerk who didn’t accept any criticism and made fun of his friend behind their back. And I’m pretty sure there were also allegations of stealing animations there. One of my friends was cooperating with Vic on MW, and it was the wildest story I ever heard.
@@KajtekBearyIt's actually nothing like it. It's everything MW wasn't. I remember spending so much time with that mod's problems but Point Blank is easy to understand, well optimised and survival friendly. Don't know about Vic though. I just appreciate the mod.
If you want a more realistic experience for Mr. Crayfish's Gun Mod, there's a texture pack that retextures all the weapon into a create style, with it even changing the sound effects. I personally never play without it.
One thing worth noting about TACZ is that there's semi-official community addons to it, which add more guns, accessories, and one that adds the movement options seen in guns without roses. My only qualm with the mod, though, is that casings are quite lazily animated as static particles rendered non-diegetically so they generally just ignore gravity or blocks. Other than that, all the other physics-based stuff checks out perfectly, even bullet drop at about 20 chunk distances.
I still hate that some big servers require the old combat, it wasn't good, spam clicking is the polar opposite of well made combat. I mean yeah, the current combat isn't great, but it's certainly better than the old combat
MrCrayfish’s Gun Mod also has a large number of addon mods that add more guns to play with, if you felt the mod’s selection of guns were limited. (definitely no bias here 😂) Also for 1.20.1 there’s Just Enough Guns and Scorched Guns 2, both forks of CGM that more closely follows Minecraft’s art style. Just throwing them out there because they are genuinely good gun mods.
We need a gun mod that makes it so mobs can use guns, or add a mob that uses guns. Its way too easy to unleash PURE AMERICAN FREEDOM on a whole unarmed village.
Some quick info about that blockfront section(last gun mod). The footage used is old footage and the game has changed quite a lot since then, a lot of guns got remodeled and mechanics and maps were added.
I'm curious why either of Vic's mods weren't covered. Vic modern warfare and Vic's Point blank both have a great set if animations and modularity. …Yes, point blank is more oriented towards custom weapons than VMW, but I still consider them rather important to cover
Hex casting will always be my favourite magic mod, purely for the unlimited things you can do and learning curve. I would definitely recommend checking it out
You should do a full video on all the spell engine mods, maybe even some of its addons. Wizards on its own is already good but it gets really great once you have all the official ones, wnd adding unnoticed addons like simply skills brings it to another level.
could you make a video about the mod "SkyLands"? it's a really cool and well made mod that adds biomes with sky islands and i think it deserves an entire video
Another great mention for the magic mods is Psi. It is by far my favourite magic mod. It has a sci-fi aesthetic to it and allows for really in-depth spell programming, where some of the coolest spells will have you applying trigonometry and even kinematics. That's all accompanied by having to take things like mana cost and bandwidth into account when programming spells. It's inspired by the anime/web novel The Irregular at Magic High School - I've never watched or read it, but if you're into that, there's a bonus. There's also a community online that has a bunch of spells that you can use. Overall, it's just really fucking cool.
This mods are very cool but when I use them I always feel too overpowered. It would be cool if there's some sort of mod that overhaul enemies and makes them a lot harder because playing these mods in vanilla makes the game too easy (maybe except epic fight coz that mod is well balanced). Sick video ❤
Using guns/magic and survival mods along with infection mods like fungal infection, flesh that hates, from another world, etc. make minecraft really fun for me.
Other magic mods with customizable spells that I know of include Psi, which is ludicrously complicated but has pre-made spell repositories. Thaumcraft, which should need no introduction. Ars Nouveau, which allows you to customize spells on the fly from your spellbook. And Ars Magica 2, which is like a more complicated Ars Nouveau. Psi I have the least experience with, but has a sci-fi sort of aesthetic. Thaumcraft, changes world generation and has a more eldritch corruption sort of aesthetic to it. There are cults, a corruption system referred to as warp, a whole bunch of new mobs and biomes, and I would say is more focused on having systems to research and exploit magic, rather than just solely focused on combat magic. Ars Nouveau and Ars Magica are similar in a lot of ways, but quite different aesthetically. Nouveau is more whimsical whereas Magica is more "grounded." I don't know off the top of my head what versions all of the mods are on, but I know Ars Nouveau is on 1.21.1
Electroblob's Wizardry is easily one of my favorite magic mods. Any time I get an excuse to throw it into a friendly modpack for 1.12.2, I do so with great enthusiasm. I then have a huge library that I try to fill with every spell.
Man did a whole guns part and didnt mention the true king of minecraft guns, Vic. Vic's Modern Warfare tho buggy was the coolest gun mod in 1.12 and the new Vic's Point Blank mod is better in every way, the guns feel amazing, it has tons of base options, its made to be easily customisable by anyone so you can make your own addons, and its just overall baller cus its Vic
I should add that Modular Warfare is like Flan's Mod with the fact that there are several addons you can add. My personal favorite addon is Blockade; it adds HUNDREDS of cartoony (but still tactical-feeling) guns, all of which can be given weapon skins and attachments.
I love Blockfront. If you aren't sure if you wanna play it just know that it drastically raises your confidence because of how easy it is against most players (incept when you play against everyone on the scoreboard)

OH MY GOD THE LAST GUN MOD IS EPIC. man I always liked the old Mr. Crayfish's Gun Mod and the other old mods from the 1.12.2 days but these new ones carry on the legacy and make it something spectacular.

It adds a variety of guns and attachments, fluid animations, and the fact that you can add custom guns as a content pack makes it the best updated gun mod in my opinion. Cool video nonetheless!
The first Minecraft mod to have a super detailed Spell Creation system is Ars Magica. The amount of things you could do in that mod is wild, but unfortunately it's stuck in 1.10.2. There is a group working on a successor for it in our newer game versions, Ars Magica:Legacy. The page says they're still in active devolopment, but I'm not sure how much progress they've made (not to say it isn't a lot, they've been at it for 2 years!)
