One of the most epic battles in the entire Devil May Cry series! Dante finally realizes that one of Mundus' subordinates is actually his older twin brother, Vergil. After being defeated, Vergil disappears and Dante with the other half of the amulet unleashes the true power of the Force Edge sword.
It's still funny to see how Dante's brother started as a random boss character until the 3rd game changed him into a fan favorite
His classic blue-suited character design is in the DMC1 artbook, posing with Dante and Trish, so it seems like there were always hopes to make him more than just a boss.
@@DarkManifest Got a link to that? Can't find it at the moment
I like vergil more than dante since then ngl
He clearly wasn't supposed to be a random character.
That necklace he dropped says random character, right.........
this is what happens when you work night shift.
"Yeah bro this night shift ain't so bad"
"The animatronics here do get a bit quirky at night"
There was still definitely some Vergil left in Nelo Angelo. Drawing his sword similarly to Yamato, playing a little with Dante in their first meeting and his determination to defeat his twin brother no matter what. Does anyone agree?
Yes, definitely some Vergil's essence there
Yes sir
This cutscene revealed so much about vergil. Hes a chocolate man.
I have to admit, I love how Nelo Angelo blocks. Sure, normally you can't break his guard. But in Devil Trigger you just up and overwhelm them with blow after blow, it's fuckin' awesome.
Nelo Angelo being a Dead By Daylight killer would be awesome. Not Vergil controlling the armor, but an Entity corrupted armor.
and the survivor could be, like, nico or something
@@poptartninja the survivor would most likely be Dante himself. Makes no sense, yeah, but they already made Alucard as a survivor, so Dante wouldn't be too far off.
0:43 Sounds like nemesis' sigh from re3. It's amazing how many of sound effects from this game were taken from previous resident evil games
Heck, Vergil's head model is literally just Wesker
@@toastergaming7783 I guess vergil is inspired by wesker itself. Same as dante with Leon. Jeez capcom... lmao
@@SuperSoylaleche "all of it just works"
@@juanchi2668 It certainly does haha
I like to think that deep inside Virgil, Nelo Angelo sleeps. And if there ever was a scene where we see 2 halves fighting for control in Virgil, one would be that big dude you fight, i forget his name, and the other half is Nelo, keeping Vergil "sane" and honorable.
I think Vergil is the thing inside Nelo and not the other way around. Because we already see that V is the "I hate you bro" side of him and the big purple demon was the "I want to get stronger" side of him.
Nelo is just Vergil covered in a lot of Demon World baggage. He just needs to chill out have a coffee and stop listening to Demoncore for a couple weeks. He'll be back to his old self.
You mean the big dude is Bowser?
Urizen?
@@kalistreet171Urizen and V are Vergil's two halves, since Nero Angelo is like Cavaliere Angelo (a big demon form holding a person inside), he is basically a glorified armor
Bro thinks he's a Power Rangers villain💀
Vergil? 😂
@@BioHazardMortal mhm
@@Pokaroquai i have no idea, but vergil's voice as nelo so goofy in dmc1 and his act so weird here 😂
@@BioHazardMortal DMC2?
@@Pokaroquai apologize, i tough its dmc 2 😂 i forget
Dante: It's Vergil for the whole time at 0:48. Vergil: Yes but I'm Nelo Angelo.
This is like a Darth Vader moment.
0:47 Albert Wesker
"Ouroboros is mine, Dante."
@@Pokaroquai no one can have this Dante, its mine. It belongs to a son of Spencer
It's Capcom and this was RE4 before RE4. dante shares a model with Leon, & i believe this one share one of Weskers.
this guy made this fight seem so easy, it took me like 20 minutes to beat him, then again maybe i just suck
You don’t, Abel. This fight is really hard.
This was on easy mode, didn’t give the real fight justice
"A man with guts and honor. I like that."
Imagine a Rob Zombie adaptation of RE & DMC...
@@fernie-fernandezhaving Rob Zombie to compose for DMC music would be cool as well
@@Pokaroquai I’d be pleased to hear the beginning acoustic tunes of “I Am Legend” being played when the story of Sparda is being told…
Come on capcom! It's about time for Dmc franchise having a remake!
How vergil still survive in dmc5, if in dmc 1 he looks like completely destroyed because his body is exploded?
The armor exploded, cleansing vergil from his corruption and supposedly leaving him how we see him at first in 5. Like his skin is flaking off of him.
Motivation.
It's called retconning because they didn't know sequels were gonna make Vergil so integral
He was resurrected in the official memorial tear artbook, it is confirmed that he was eliminated by Dante without a trace, but he was resurrected in DMC5, because in the novels and manga and more it is clarified that Demons have powers of resurrection, regeneration, and even absurd and incredible immortalities. That is why Vergil was resurrected albeit in very poor conditions by the corrupting power of Mundus who had reshaped Vergil's existence.
Somehow Vergil returned.
I NEED MORE CHOCOLATE!!!
@@BlackenedAngel 20 anos eu digo cronologicamente é claro.
@@NeroAngelo31245 sim mano, tipo o que ele estava fazendo durante 20 anos????? Tentando localizar a Yamato ????
So, am I the only one who noticed this? Dante seemed to be able to recognize who's who inside the angelos, as well as sense demonic essence, but for some reason he couldn't tell Vergil was the one behind that suit of armor? And even if we take into account that some showed signs of their former selves, like Chavalier Angelo, shouldn't he also still be able to tell if it's Vergil given that he has shown signs of his former self as well?
Here's what I think. In real life, games after DMC1 were made by a complete different team and director. The idea of Vergil vs Dante and the rivalry between them in DMC3 wasn't a thing that DMC1 devs had in mind, in fact the Yamoto being Vergil's signature weapon is something DMC3 devs came up with (it's in DMC1, but it's referred to as Sparda's sword. No mention of Vergil).
With that in mind, within the lore of DMC1 only, Dante only saw Vergil when they were little kids until Mundas burned their house and killed their mother. Dante thought Vergil was also killed. The Nelo Angelo fight is his first time meeting Vergil as an adult. If I was Dante, I'm pretty that I wouldn't notice that this is my brother, specially with that messy, purple looking face and glowy eyes and the fact that he's an adult now. I also don't think Dante would recognize these small, floaty, glass blue swords (forgot what they called)
That's my guess as to why Dante couldn't recognize him.
It doesn't make sense when you include DMC3 lore and onward, but it does make sense as its own standalone game.
Generally DMC1 (especially in regards to Vergil) has been retconned to the degree where it doesn’t really fit with the narrative of the rest of the series starting with 3. So yeah, it’s an inconsistency that Dante can apparently sense Vergil in later entires and also be able to intuit that Trish is in Cavaliere Angelo but has no clue who Nelo Angelo is, you just kind of have to accept these things sadly. Maybe one day Capcom will remake 1 and make it fit better into the continuity, but as it is now the rest of the series has put it in a state of pseudo-canon where only the broad strokes seem to have happened but the finer details don’t really work.
V=Vergil
Urizen=Nelo Angelo=Corrupted Vergil
Nelo angelo in DMC 1 it's Brothers Dante his name "Vergil"
0:09
Dante is winning.. Vergil is Nelo Angelo in the Devil May Cry 1.
His name is Nero Angelo
Officially the name is "Nelo Angelo". Even though there was a mistranslation from Japanese to English regarding the word "Nero", they kept it as "Nelo Angelo" because it became popular among the production team.
It should be Angelo Nero
2:03
the way the frame freezes is so fucking funny lmao it's like a deliberate jump cut to him completely motionless
Bro why his not look like vergil from dmc 3 but from DMC vergil 😂
It's kinda weird how Japanese studios get better mileage out of their games compared to western studios despite using the same hardware.
For Devil May Cry 6
If there’s going to be a time travel plot, that focuses on 3 generations. The past would focus on Sparda, with Eva as his partner. The present would still have Nero, with Patty as the Maria Renard to his Richter Belmont. And the future, which would focus on Nero’s daughter, who is more like her mother, with Trish’s son as her sidekick.
It would be shocking that the next generation grew up not knowing who her parents were. Because some years after the Qulipoth incident, Mundus was resurrected again, by a cult that worships him. Nero with his Devil Trigger tries to defeat him, like Dante did in this game. But just like Vergil, he gets corrupted into a new Nelo Angelo. Kyrie would also died after giving birth to the first female Sparda, who would be raised by her godmother Trish, who would also settle down with a human, who she had a son with. The girl would be trained by her godmother, who along with Lady, Nico, & Patty thinks it’s best for her to find out about what she is. Which happens when she finds herself in the underworld, where she learns the truth about who her birth parents were, when she meets her grandpa Vergil & uncle Dante. Which was all too much for her to handle, even though she was inspired what her great grandpa did long ago. Luckily Vergil, as her grandpa, did what was necessary to make sure she’s not alone. By being a father to her, which was very sweet of how soft he has gotten over the years.
