    This looks really good. I plasti dipped mine blue about 3 years ago and I think I am going to try this rather than repaint it. Great video.

    I wrapped my grill and side grill with the 2.5" tape 3M vinyl a bit easier to use but I had a couple seams. The center strips of the grill are easier definitely easier to wrap with the tape but the outer edge a bit more difficult because of the curves.

      Yeah I faced the same problem! I started with the strips but (personally) I wasn’t a fan of the seams showing so I opted for the large piece. I did manage to wrap the long sections on the grille using the vinyl strips but exactly as you said the outer edges were too complicated for a clean wrap so I scrapped it for now since I got a new grille

      @@DIYDetail Did you do your window trim with the tape?

    • @DIYDetail
      @DIYDetail 4 роки тому

      Yeah I did it with the tape except the back window had to be done with a sheet of vinyl cause of the extreme curve

    Hey man cool video. Do you know if those horizontal chrome pieces on the bigger grill are removable ? I hit my car awhile back and there is damage on two of them

    • @DIYDetail
      @DIYDetail 3 роки тому +1

      Thank you! The trim pieces are removable but unfortunately you need to take the bumper off to pop them out. They are held in by plastic clips that you need to release. I do have a video coming in a few weeks showing you how to take the bumper and front grille out (it’s the same way for the bottom grille just without the screws)

      Yeah I thought about this but I don’t have a garage so I wouldn’t have a spot for the parts to dry (to avoid anything getting stuck in the paint)

    But you could use hyper dip if you like high gloss

      This seems like a newer product. Might try it over the summer. Have you used it before?

      @@DIYDetail hyper dip? Yeah I used it on my 350z, it lays much better than normal plasti dip and has better finish/texture.

      Good to know. I did not like the texture using plasti-dip/glossier. I’ll look into it this summer! Thanks for the tip

    It's better than spraying it. One day you can put it back to stock and sell it again as stock. This Is exactly why I never spray anything on my car

    • @DIYDetail
      @DIYDetail 4 роки тому

      Yes agreed! I only sprayed my emblems but using plasti dip. Not a huge fan of the texture but luckily it’s peel-able

    Das ist genau die Abdeckung als ich mit 140 km/h einen Waschbär erwischt habe. Hat jemand eine Teilenummer? #europcar
