I feel bad for all the Pacific WW2 sailors who died on the sea
Why feel bad? Their body can feed the creatures below the seas. I mean, everyone gotta eat right? They can get hungry too. They're living creatures too like us.
@@OwO-zd5dw the only greedy way is cremation, when you get bury your body feeds soil and entire small creatures around, and at sea you feed the sea creature. atleast you are still contribute for the nature when you die LOL

This is amazingly fascinating. Can somebody add links to further information regarding where this was seen, was it a controlled experiment and is there a way for me to watch good documentaries relating to this? Any knowledge and help is appreciated. Also, is it possible to add links, research reports, sources for all such videos for anybody wanting to know more? (The last one as a suggestion to the team of Science Insider.) Thanking in advance.

During 6th grade I was selected to go on a trip to board and have a tour of the Nautilus ship, it was a completely free trip paid for by Citgo, they had these nice buses for us to ride on, and they gave us these little backpack/cinch up bags full of these little sprays, like sunscreen, mosquito spray and other stuff (I’m in Louisiana btw) and I remember the ride there and back, every kid sprayed their sprays and the whole bus stank like mosquito spray the 2 hour drive, but the tour of the ship was amazing, they showed us around their little machines they drop into the water and Use to explore the ocean, and how they control it from the ship, they had this little arm on the submarine idk if it’s a submarine but it’s what they used to explore the ocean and they had another arm on board the ship and if the arm on the sub hit something in the ocean like say a rock you could feel the resistance on board the ship

super intersting! thx for this video!
Awesome!!
Those octopuses are kinda of adorable.
imagine having your bones slowly getting digested by worms then some weird robot thing says "that is so cool"
At first I thought they're doing a comic voice over for the overly excited octopi eating the whale...
We've got people moaning at a sight of whale carcass, which is being eaten by Cthulhu spawns and bone eating worms, and we ask all about this to the Chad King...
Hagfish are usually the first to find the food item.
Incredible footage❤
Humans: We can eat sardine bones
Bone - eating worms: Hold my beer!
And they used to say that part of the ocean had no life!
This is giving me the creeps i dont understand why. The photobombing octopus is kinda cute but all of them together feeding on that giant skeleton is just unsettling
If someone was sitting next to you, hearing those "ooh yes" voices without watching the content, he would definitely think you were on the dirty side of the net.

Whale die
Creepy Creature: ah sht here we go again
This is like Thanksgiving Dinner to these guys
It’s so neat how the bacteria secretes enzymes to digest whale tissue which is mutually beneficial to the worms who house the bacteria. Then the worms are fed to the crustaceans which is fed to the octopus, all of which happens in the domain of a whale caucus.
so cute to hear the scientist get so excited over the finding!!
Scientists being excited watching a feast with the king of Chad's at the helm...
3:57 "which is why they were so _excited_"

This videos great and Visually it's really good quality to. Someonevreally needs to check the audio and make it all the same level though to make it the video perfect
Whale: *dies
Scientist: "someone who has twitter tell twitter"
;~; dead whales make me sad..Because they drown when they’re dying. They literally fall down to the bottom of the ocean dying.
This way you describe this is similar to how I describe the way I watched my dog die a few weeks ago... she was diagnosed with Pericardial Effusion; there's a sac of fluid around the heart that helps regulate bloodflow, and a common disease in canines roughly 9 years and up causes the sac to rapidly overfill, restricting blood flow. According to my emergency veterinarian, symptoms typically don't show until it's too late ~30-45 min... she slowly died while her heart was literally being crushed.

What benefit does the worm get? Is it secreting acid just to ensure the biodegradation of the bones?
The most interesting question wasn't addressed:
How do these animals find this carcass in that vast underwater desert?
they just stumble on it?
That is an interesting question. I'd guess a combo of stumbling over it, as the other response suggested, and maybe scent?
even marine biologists sound like excited kids when discovering something. it's so cute.
They're all chillaxing :)🤔😴
