I remember being homesick as a Private Second Class in South Korea in 2004. I called my mom crying from a payphone and she sang this song to me to cheer me up. 17 years 3 deployments to Afghanistan and 6 duty stations later in 2020.....I'm still living my life like it's GOLDEN. My dad is battling brain cancer, he’s a musician and absolutely loves this song. Cancer took away his ability to play music as he became paralyzed on his right side. But we still listen to this song and remember that life is such a gift from God.
