Interesting reveal. The missing information was how much you paid for this album of Spanish stamps. I only collect Australia (incl states and territories), GB and the Netherlands, so I know nothing about Spanish stamps. The telegraph hole punch cancel is interesting. I've never seen them listed in any catalogues. I bought a couple of first and second watermark 5 shilling Kangaroos with a telegraph hole punch cancel combined with an ink cancel, which after seeing your video I now suspect I overpaid for. In my experience the Australian ones rarely come up in eBay auctions where I have bought a lot of stamps over the last 5 or 6 years, which is why I thought they were actually rarer than the postally used stamps and still worth a reasonable amount rather than just a few dollars. I won't be tempted in the future.
It mentions the punched hole cancels on Stanley Gibbons catalogues but I also have a Spanish one which gives more detail. I didn't know they did it in Australia too.
Pete, nice set of stamps. I can't remember where I saw it but I seem to remember that someone had a very extensive collection of the Telegraph stamps. I guess there is a niche for everybody. By the way, what was the name of the auction house you got the stamps from? Thanks.
Nice stamps, I’ve bought stuff at Catawiki before too, but the quality of the stamps I bought were kind of disappointing. Especially one album I bought was just full of mold, and foxing which you couldn’t see on the pictures. I had to throw away many stamps that would’ve been nice additions to my collection. The other set of albums I bought earlier was in slightly better condition, but still many stamps had to be thrown out because of foxing. (And it didn’t show up very well in the pictures.)
That's disappointing. Did you contact the vendor? Or Catawiki. I must admit this was only the third time I'd bought from them but it always looks good quality
The first lot that I bought still had many nice stamps, even if I had to throw a lot of stamps away, so ultimately I decided it was fine, even if I felt like I paid a bit too much money for what I got. ( In the item description it had also said that some stamps were in varying conditions, so I was at least aware that the pictures were maybe not very indicative of the condition of the album itself) The second lot though I was a bit disappointed with, but the seller only spoke French so I wasn’t sure what to do. Ultimately I saved the few nice/still okay stamps in the album and threw the rest away. (Once I discovered it also had insects.... later) Anyways, I’ve had a better experience with Catawiki recently. Guess it just comes down to luck when you buy a big lot of stamps, instead of buying something like a specific set of stamps on there.
The stamps with foxing would still have some value and possibly be of interest to some other collectors, even if only as gap fillers, so why throw them out?
Thanks for this. I really enjoyed you going through the stamps and pointing out things you look for and the post marks. Please do more.
Very educate and good stsmpas on the value. Blessings
Outstanding

Thanks for your comments. The auction house was Catawiki. It often has some good quality stuff for sale. www.catawiki.com/en/
Thanks Pete, I will check them out.

I actually didn’t. Well, not exactly at least. Some I’ve used for mail art/stamp art/collage projects. Others I’ve put in bags and sold for 50 cents.
