    Baking and brewing go hand in hand. Love that you haven’t rolled over and played dead. Instead you’ve all chosen to improve what you already have.

    Just bought one of those MT-50 labelers from Vevor (May 2024). For the money it is not too bad, but I found (what I call) the "label carousel" surgical tubing friction system to be pretty hokey. I replaced the roller shaft with a 1" diameter bar, bushed the side plates down to one inch, then used felt washers on the side against the mounting plate and a spring and shaft collar on the outside for tension. I also did not like how the liner paper rubbed on the motor under neath... so I made and added another roller between the knurled front roller and the take up roller. The factory should have mounted the motor at the back of this machine. Since everything is chain they could have mounted the motor anywhere other than where it is. Fortunately, I have the skills to do all of this. But for the price ($350 USD) you still can't beat it.

    Just putting my labeller together. I would never have checked the earth if it was not for your video. Thank you for posting a literal life saver. Hoping to be brewing properly soon. All the very best.

    Bet you didn't think the seamer would be the long pole in the tent when you started the can filler project.

    Nice rustic loaf. It will be fun to see your reentry on July 1st, but you're poised to kill it, unless something like unavailability of some foodstuffs spoils the party. Hoping for the best! Cheers!

    HB sourdough for the restaurant would be a good upsell. Labeler looks the good despite all the flaws that it came with. You'll be churning through those labels in short order.
    Good thing it was only wasted time with the CIP, better than a damaged BK

    Like waiting for Xmas waiting the seamer but strange times strange delivery’s, labeller is the business shame you have to adjust a few parts. Shelving looking good you’ll soon need a bigger pad , one thing I’ve never done is make bread.

    Do you think i could easily modify one of these to label plastic buckets? - They're slightly conical (issue 1) and have a rim (issue 2). Top to bottom they're 190mm plus 20mm rim. Looking at your machine, I think I could set it so the rim over hangs the side of the machine - that'd solve issue 2. But im wondering if i could replace the freewheel roller at the end (that the bottle/ bucket turns on) with 2 different diameter wheels at each end to counter the conical shape.
    Thoughts?

    Hi Harry, great video!! Wish it existed when I got my machine. Wondering if you have any suggestions for getting parts repaired with them? It sounded like something snapped inside it last week and now the machine doesn’t feed the labels around. Something to do with the end roller that gathers the wastage paper.

    We're having an issue with the inside roller pulling the discarded film (after label removed) at the right rate... Any suggestions? Thank you!

    • @harrybrew69
      @harrybrew69  3 роки тому

      That roller is not chain driven so if it is pulling too fast just tighten your pinch roller to prevent this. If it is pulling too slow then I would just forget it and let the backing paper run on the floor and pick it up afterwards. Just make sure the pinch roller doesn't pull it in again on the out feed as this can damage the bearings.

    • @p0pcornmamma
      @p0pcornmamma 3 роки тому

      @@harrybrew69 Thank you! I think the floor is going to have to be our plan... and yes, our labels didn't come on backing paper but more of a film that has lots of static upon releasing the label so it's super easy to fly up & "stick" to the rollers above! (Which I see could gum up the works so to speak...) Thanks so much! Appreciate your reply!

      We have the machine with the printer, but having trouble getting the print exactly where we want it .... doesn't hit exactly the same place...it's jumping just a 1/4 inch up and down the label.
      I'm sure it is just a little adjustment... can you tell me what to do?

  • @bozorthbeverages2420
    @bozorthbeverages2420 3 роки тому

    We've been using this labeler for a couple years, and recently switched to plasticized labels. We're having some issues with wrinkling, even with tension adjustment. Did you run into this at all

    • @harrybrew69
      @harrybrew69  3 роки тому +1

      A little. The space between the power roller and the idle roller can be crucial to preventing creases, as can the position of the top idle roller. I also make sure my spool tension allows easy movement. Do you use the backing paper winding function? That bottom roller has to be tight.

    • @bozorthbeverages2420
      @bozorthbeverages2420 3 роки тому

      We're not using the winding function currently (our batches have been small enough it's been more of a PITA to wind it) but we'll be upping production shortly, and will probably start. The machined roller is definitely tight. With the top idle roller position, are you coming down on top of the bottle, closer to the machine, or closer to the user? From the video it looks like it's closer to the machine than the user.

    • @harrybrew69
      @harrybrew69  3 роки тому +1

      @@bozorthbeverages2420 @Bozorth Beverages After much trial and error I settled on positioning the 2 support rollers in a good position for the label to flow nicely on to the can then the top handle roller comes down on the machine side of the top centre of the can. I also only have about 3mm of the next label sticking up, too much and it can crease, too little has the same effect.
