I want the metal housings for my portal phoenix. Idc to spend the money on the housings it's the portal boxes that kill me. 100 bucks for 2 portal covers... 100 bucks for 2 brass portal covers for the front...
I know, it can get crazy real quick! I'm actually still running the plastic C-hubs, not the most "bling" but everything works just fine. But on a portal rig, the weight is distributed differently, So changing to a alloy axle might not be the best option
@Brokennib RC more weight at the axles can't be a terrible thing. But then again it's just a trail truck so how it performs isn't the number one priority. I'd just like them for a little bit of bling more than anything else. I have a pile of crawlers and a lot of them have vitavon axles.
@@rc-daily Naw, not a terrible thing at all, inmo Portal trucks can have a little different center of gravity, is all I'm saying. But you can do a piece at a time, like I usually do.
Cool. I started with the VS4-10 Pro, then realized I was about $300 short on getting OD, Dig, and new servos. Instead of upgrading it, I bought a Phoenix straight axle kit and put in a Fusion SE 1800kv and man o man does this thing crawl slow. I love it. I’m only using 2s lipos on the Phoenix, versus the Pro has an Axe system with 3s power. Very cool scale collection.
Let’s get some video of this thing on the trail/rocks!

@@brokennibrc1045 yeah I could do it one part at a time. It wouldn't hurt so bad then
What wheel and tire setup are you running ? Those looks sweet and i love that green paint
These are actually an old set of Gearhead wheels, they're out of production, but they were a great solid wheel. Tires are BFG krawlers from proline 🙂
Funny they did the pumpkin on the wrong side, a real Toyota has it on the right side.
What additional pieces are required to fit these axles? Can u reuse all the stock axle internal components?
yup, gears, c-hubs, everything transfers over very well. I'm running the plastic C-Hubs on mine without a problem. Same with the gears, bearings, etc.
