I know this is late but you can wear a swim cap while swimming. They are made for swimmers so the chlorine in the pools don't kill their hair. I use them to protect my color.

Love this!!! I did similar last June and just let it fade on it’s own lol but I went with a more bold blue and did more of a horizontal vs vertical look
