I was astounded by this movie, I hadn’t been in such suspense and unknowing of what was going to happen next in a while. Really kept me on the edge of my seat, and tbh I can’t really say that about a lot of superhero content these days.
I love how this movie just goes there with its brutality. However, I still love those little moments of hope. My favorite being when Superman stops Raven from killing herself even after everything they been through. Also I'm surprised it took them this long to have Darkseid fight Trigon. I don't even think they've met in the comics
You are right. Darkseid and Trigon have never met in the comics. They will do that one day. They had Darkseid meet the Anti Monitor 30 years after Crisis.
the issue with trigon is that early on he's had such deep lore behind him but his character will always be tied to raven making him a teen titans villian rather than a JL villain, he's honestly written in a way that only raven is able to deal with him (except a case like this movie where he seems content not taking over earth), but early in the comics it's shown to us that the one above all is aware of trigons existence, and the spectre + phantom stranger kind of fear a fight with him
and constantine are Above the other pieces on the board, only those two know what they have to do at the end of the day or what flash has to do. Flash and constantine for their respective time and magic can sometimes be next level even wit more powerful hero villains

I never found it out of character for "this" Superman to want to strike first. I could be wrong, but I think this Superman is supposed to be based off of the New 52 Superman, and that one did have a bit more of an edge to him than traditional Supes.

I know, it's a tv show and it's a lot to get through, but you would not regret watching through Young Justice, at least the first two seasons. Easily some of the best DC animated content ever made and probably my favorite portrayal of Dick Grayson.
I mean even in the old Justice League cartoon, Superman HAD IT for Darkseid, he despised him after everything he did to him, going so far as to not help Darkseid after he of all people comes to the JL for 'assistance'. Even the other league members were surprised by Superman's attitude towards Darkseid

Can we admit how hard this is to watch? Seeing some of our favorite characters die gruesome deaths. It broke my heart seeing the fate of Starfire. There were a lot of great, emotional moments with my favorites being Batman overcoming his control and hugging Damien after he was brought back.
I’d love you watch Constantine the house of mystery. Because it is technically a continuation from this but it changes art styles. The tomorrowverse is another good shout with the upcoming warworld film
This is the endgame of the DC New 52 universe and sets up the Tomorrowverse. This was kind of the Infinity War for DC with the coming of Darkseid. Tony Todd voicing Darkseid is just epic.

This was the best, I’m so happy to see people enjoy so much something that I enjoy so much, following Corey and John’s journey has been the best way to revisit this universe that brought me so much joy. Seeing them also enjoy the same parts that I enjoyed the entire Constantine arc oh such a great time man!

I think It is entirely appropriate for Superman to give the speech. That _Superman_ of all people is advocating for the strike first approach emphasizes the seriousness of the situation. He has likely given it an incredible amount of thought and come to the conclusion this is the only way.
DC's animation team took one look at Days of Future Past and went 'I can make it more brutal' It's a good little end to the whole saga of movies, which each group getting a time to shine, even Etrigan who was great in the movie also Trigon Superman is something I need more of that's just an awesome concept, but alas Barry has to retcon the world again, so now we enter the Tomorrowverse

It can absolutely be judged and those arcs I mentioned with the 3 partners would be roughly 66 minutes and the 4 part ending would be 88 minutes. What a bizarre comment. Wasn't really expecting the f-bomb in a DCAU flick. And Harlie's version of "if you're happy and you know it" must have crossed a line somewhere. But since its their last movie, they didn't care.
Vengeance Superman was a little weird to see, but it does fall in line with DCAU. After what Darkseid did to Superman at the end of Superman TAS, Superman was gunning for him in Justice League Unlimited, with Batman being the one trying to hold him back

The thing about this movie that I loved so much is every beat I understood but could have never predicted. I would have loved to be in the writers room while they hashed this out.

Two DC movies I recommend are Superman/Batman: Apocalypse (2010) if you want to see more Darkseid and has SUPERGIRL in it! The other one is Justice League: Doom (2012); it's a stand alone film but its great with most of the og cast of the old animated shows like Kevin Conroy, Tim Daly and Susan Eisenburg!
This is the one that when y’all started to watch the DAMU films I wanted to see your reaction and it was perfect. I understand why people dislike this one since it probably would’ve been best as a two parter but I think it did a lot of things really well. By far a perfect universe and doesn’t even compare to the DCAU but still I’m glad it exists
This movie series continuity is the reason why Flash (Barry Allen) and Constantine are my 2nd and 3rd favorite comic book characters of all time respectively. The sheer amount of terrible things they both go through and the amount of thankless burden they both bare makes them really interesting and complex characters to me. These movies made me love them and want to learn more about them entirely.
Now that’s how you end a universe (cough Flash the movie). The Tomorrowverse is such a great reboot from this universe. I loved how some elements from Flashpoint repeated themselves, like Shazam losing an eye, Lois being a spy.
The last few moments of this, Coy you seemed so quiet lol. Might be the quietest we've seen you? This move was freaking thick lol... so good. DCAMU has been perfection, deeply underrated. Loved watching you guys watch them!

Fun fact Raven is actually Etrigens aunt. Nightwing should've gotten his own solo movie before this. He's a fan favourite character in batman lore that's been around for 30 years. And he's never once got his own movie or series animated or live action.

This was my favorite movie in the continuity- great ending to the run. This movie captivated and traumatized me at the same time :-). I need a "Snyder Cut" of this- I wanted more of the Titans battle than we got. And hey, Hawkman finally got a line. I believe it was "AAAAAAAAAAA!" 🙂
One of the best parts of the movie is how they didn’t try to lighten it up with jokes. They didn’t hold back, this movie is on of the most disturbing movies ever. I’m traumatised by it
Can I point out that while their take on Superman and especially early on with Wonder Woman wasn't my favorite, theres two characters I think this universe has handled better than any before them, in Constantine and Damien.. they really made people including me a fan of a character who before this universe wasn't even close to DC's most popular magic user, and yet even in the comics he's sorta become that after this universe.. and Damien Wayne, they handled Damien better than anyone ever has, who isn't easily written in a likable way and yet being true to his characters personality they somehow make him likable, and really made people begin to like him as the new Robin...
I was never realized that this is supposed to be the ending of the New 52. Quite dark but makes sense as to why a reboot had to occur to not make a reality where Darkside is busted. DC Animated movies are so good. Wonder if they’ll adapt the new versions and how it’ll go.
Many of us have a love and kinda hate relationship with this movie, like, the movie is great and basically ends most of the DCAMU plot lines which is great, so its tecnically a great conclusion for this movie universe. However, we felt that DC and WB could give us a little more, especially more about certain characters that kinda show up but didn't get too much, or even none, screen time. We get Batgirl showing up at the end of Batman: Bad Blood and then again a little in the adaptation of Batman: Hush, but then she show up here only to meet her (pretty brutal) end by a bunch of mean and hungry paradooms, heck, we got a tease of Wonder Girl Donan Troy at the end of Teen Titans: The Judas Contract only to see here already dead during Damian's flash back and we only get to see the Joker in the Batman Hush movie and then he got killed, off camera, by Mobius Chair Batmam over there, a he's the Joker. This is why we think that they could give the DCAMU some more time, to have some more stories based in this particular universe and have some of this characters "bright under the spotlight" a little more, neither DC an/or WB should "pull the trigger" on the DCAMU yet, it was too soon.
This is proof that DC Animation knows how to make superhero movies. Please someone send a copy to Warner executives because it seems they haven't realized it yet.
Finally at the end of the DC animated movie universe. It's gone quick man, I remember the first time I watched Apokolips War. It shocked me from beginning to end, the way you see DC heroes and villains die in front of you and brutally is insane. But I really enjoyed this film.
The scene where Superman gets tattooed by Darkseid reminds me of the scene in The Kingdom comic when Gog kills Clark with a piece of his Kryptonian shuttle.
Just so you guys know, this jsnt the end. The DCAU ends with Constantine: The House of Mystery.. it directly follows on with what happens when the flash goes back.
One of the things that made this movie so good was the unpredictability of it they literally had the green light to kill anyone and damn near killed everyone getting this from a super hero movie is RARE because usually the hero’s never really get into big big trouble but they killed off so many hero’s and villains it was refreshing in a way I want more of this
For me this is one of the top 15 comic book movies of all time. Truly apocalyptic & bleak making everything feel so raw. 10/10 even though it’s not perfect, the big moments in this movie are just phenomenal & the ending is has so much guts.

I think It is entirely appropriate for Superman to give the speech. That _Superman_ of all people is advocating for the strike first approach emphasizes the seriousness of the situation. He has likely given it an incredible amount of thought and come to the conclusion this is the only way.

It’s not close to the level of the best arcs from that show like The Savage Time, A Better World, Starcrossed, the last 4 episodes of what originally would have been the end of Justice League Unlimited, etc. Let’s not lower our standards please.

It can absolutely be judged and those arcs I mentioned with the 3 partners would be roughly 66 minutes and the 4 part ending would be 88 minutes. What a bizarre comment. This wasn’t a one and done movie.

Vengeance Superman was a little weird to see, but it does fall in line with DCAU. After what Darkseid did to Superman at the end of Superman TAS, Superman was gunning for him in Justice League Unlimited, with Batman being the one trying to hold him back

The thing about this movie that I loved so much is every beat I understood but could have never predicted. I would have loved to be in the writers room while they hashed this out.

Thank you gor reacting to these movies! They definitely needed a lot of love abd In glad you picked them up! But it doesn't have to end here! Two DC movies I recommend are Superman/Batman: Apocalypse (2010) if you want to see more Darkseid and has SUPERGIRL in it! The other one is Justice League: Doom (2012); it's a stand alone film but its great with most of the og cast of the old animated shows like Kevin Conroy, Tim Daly and Susan Eisenburg!
This is the one that when y’all started to watch the DAMU films I wanted to see your reaction and it was perfect. I understand why people dislike this one since it probably would’ve been best as a two parter but I think it did a lot of things really well. By far a perfect universe and doesn’t even compare to the DCAU but still I’m glad it exists
This movie series continuity is the reason why Flash (Barry Allen) and Constantine are my 2nd and 3rd favorite comic book characters of all time respectively. The sheer amount of terrible things they both go through and the amount of thankless burden they both bare makes them really interesting and complex characters to me. These movies made me love them and want to learn more about them entirely.
This was great! Totally worth the wait! Please bring on Superman Vs The Elite, All Star Superman and Superman/Batman Apocalypse!!!
Now that’s how you end a universe (cough Flash the movie). The Tomorrowverse is such a great reboot from this universe. I loved how some elements from Flashpoint repeated themselves, like Shazam losing an eye, Lois being a spy.
The last few moments of this, Coy you seemed so quiet lol. Might be the quietest we've seen you? This move was freaking thick lol... so good. DCAMU has been perfection, deeply underrated. Loved watching you guys watch them!

Fun fact Raven is actually Etrigens aunt. Nightwing should've gotten his own solo movie before this. He's a fan favourite character in batman lore that's been around for 30 years. And he's never once got his own movie or series animated or live action.

One final thing to watch as part of the DCAMU, Constantine: The House of Mystery. Then the new continuity created by Flashpoint 2.0 begins. This was my favorite movie in the continuity- great ending to the run. This movie captivated and traumatized me at the same time :-). I need a "Snyder Cut" of this- I wanted more of the Titans battle than we got. And hey, Hawkman finally got a line. I believe it was "AAAAAAAAAAA!" 🙂
I was blown away by this movie ,the first time i saw it.
One of the best parts of the movie is how they didn’t try to lighten it up with jokes. They didn’t hold back, this movie is on of the most disturbing movies ever. I’m traumatised by it

This is definitely my favorite in this continuity. It's so well done, and it really is dark.
I love that scene when powerless Superman still found a way to save a life (Raven).
Can I point out that while their take on Superman and especially early on with Wonder Woman wasn't my favorite, theres two characters I think this universe has handled better than any before them, in Constantine and Damien.. they really made people including me a fan of a character who before this universe wasn't even close to DC's most popular magic user, and yet even in the comics he's sorta become that after this universe.. and Damien Wayne, they handled Damien better than anyone ever has, who isn't easily written in a likable way and yet being true to his characters personality they somehow make him likable, and really made people begin to like him as the new Robin...
I was never realized that this is supposed to be the ending of the New 52. Quite dark but makes sense as to why a reboot had to occur to not make a reality where Darkside is busted.
DC Animated movies are so good. Wonder if they’ll adapt the new versions and how it’ll go.
Don't know if they've seen it but I feel like it would be very entertaining to watch them watch worlds end. Maybe even the whole trilogy
Many of us have a love and kinda hate relationship with this movie, like, the movie is great and basically ends most of the DCAMU plot lines which is great, so its tecnically a great conclusion for this movie universe.
However, we felt that DC and WB could give us a little more, especially more about certain characters that kinda show up but didn't get too much, or even none, screen time.
We get Batgirl showing up at the end of Batman: Bad Blood and then again a little in the adaptation of Batman: Hush, but then she show up here only to meet her (pretty brutal) end by a bunch of mean and hungry paradooms, heck, we got a tease of Wonder Girl Donan Troy at the end of Teen Titans: The Judas Contract only to see here already dead during Damian's flash back and we only get to see the Joker in the Batman Hush movie and then he got killed, off camera, by Mobius Chair Batmam over there, a he's the Joker.
This is why we think that they could give the DCAMU some more time, to have some more stories based in this particular universe and have some of this characters "bright under the spotlight" a little more, neither DC an/or WB should "pull the trigger" on the DCAMU yet, it was too soon.

Finally at the end of the DC animated movie universe. It's gone quick man, I remember the first time I watched Apokolips War. It shocked me from beginning to end, the way you see DC heroes and villains die in front of you and brutally is insane. But I really enjoyed this film.
The scene where Superman gets tattooed by Darkseid reminds me of the scene in The Kingdom comic when Gog kills Clark with a piece of his Kryptonian shuttle.

I sometimes forget how unbelievably dark this movie is
One of the things that made this movie so good was the unpredictability of it they literally had the green light to kill anyone and damn near killed everyone getting this from a super hero movie is RARE because usually the hero’s never really get into big big trouble but they killed off so many hero’s and villains it was refreshing in a way I want more of this
For me this is one of the top 15 comic book movies of all time. Truly apocalyptic & bleak making everything feel so raw. 10/10 even though it’s not perfect, the big moments in this movie are just phenomenal & the ending is has so much guts.
