I bought TPO after hearing "Have You Heard the News" on the radio, in 1982! I knew from that album, that they were special, and have come to love them and Mark more and more. So sad, his passing 🥺❤️
In 1982 I was 18 and i Loved Mark Hollis and Talk Talk still do one of my favourite bands and he has a voice to die for with or without studio enough said
OMG......What a gift from "The Most High"......What a Voice!!!......Beauty Personified!!!....I would want that voice to sing to me every day and every night........Todah Abba (Thank You Father)...
This is one of the tracks I was playing back in the day, while attempting to survive when Thatcher was trying to starve and freeze us all into submission.
His vocal chords are like a flute, or an oboe....a wind instrument....it is so beautiful off-set by the synth. No one else could do a song like this....no one! The bass strings thumping along...the drums all chunky...the song goes on far too long; on the album and here...but it's beautiful. ♫
Saw them in this year. Dominion Tottenham Court Road on their first nationwide tour to capitalise on their chart breakthrough. The place from memory seemed pretty empty. I remember the support band's bass player losing it and throwing his bass to the floor then walking off or something! Talk Talk played all this new stuff that sounded brilliant yet come the next album, none of it seemed to appear. Perhaps they binned it but it was very much in keeping with the sound of their debut album. Their second album however was a departure. Anyone else have any memories of that tour?
My love Mark, your voice Is confortable and loving You are near everybody' s soul in this pandemic moment I magically founded in these days your beautiful face and I' ve fallen in love lossely I think of you everyday, everytime as you whatch over all of us
Cara Barbara sono Leonardo e anche io innamorato dei talk talk avevo 16 anni allora è anche ora più che mai fatti sentire pellegrini.leonardo@libero.it
As with most of Mark’s live songs its 100% voice perfect, his so natural at the mic. Melancholy as per normal but that’s what his so good at. One of there best tracks if not the best.
Talk Talk and Mark Hollis music have always moved me in a way that few other bands have. You will be missed, Mark Hollis. It's a shame you didn't leave more of your genius gifts for the world.
hollis is SUCH AN INFLUENCE TODAY, god if he did a show under the radar,i would give my arm to see him,i was on emi records when all the bullshit was going on and was completely disgusted by it,wonder where he is,just hope he is cool and happy,so many people talk so much crap about him on heroin, absolute RUBBISH,they need to get the facts straight on that one,
no he wasnt on drugs, sadly his brother was. i get so angry when i read it was him. I think it was the wire magazine had to print an appology for saying he was on drugs and admit they were wrong
I can listen to mark hollis all day long 7 days a week. He was beyond unique. He was the very best and his drummer Lee harris and Paul Webb bass made a great trio. Marks smile when seen was so brighter than the sun. He is my love. I know flick is his wife but I really understand him so much. I wish we knew more about his life but he was an enigma. God test your soul we miss you to the moon and back. You live on in your fans always
One of my favorite songs of all time, it really brings me back to much simpler times when the present complexities barely existed. Amazing and distinctive vocals, just as good as the studio version. Even more impressive than today's vocalists with all of the enhancements(aka auto tune). Vocal integrity and sincerity to the maximum. Thank you for the memories Talk Talk!
Nicely put...... Its a deep song for sure and there are not many performers around that i feel could ever sing it in the same way he does. Or should i say did. :-(
The party's over I never thought you'd stay The love of laughter My truth's no longer sane The party's over Much older than you'd say This friend of no one Time creases on your face Take a look at the kids I've been losing track This crime of being uncertain of your love Is all I'm guilty of The party's over I never thought you'd stay A style of reason This life of masquerade Take a look at the kids I've been losing track This crime of being Uncertain of your love Is all I'm guilty of Take this punishment away Lord Name the crime I'm guilty of Too much hope I've seen as virtue Name the crime I'm guilty of
Mark's voice is amazing every time life or recorded! Goose-bump giving! Great song I'm hearing it for the first time. I was 6 years old in 1982. But love love love 80's.
Mark Hollis is probably the best male vocalist in the pop and rock industry ever. I've heard TT play live and they are amazing. Great band.
Ever. Higher than imaginable.
U were so lucky!!!!!
Je suis mille fois d'accord ... son chant et plus globalement son œuvre tienne même du génie
RIP Mark Hollis. Farewell to a musical genius. Thanks for it all. May Christ bless you. Talk Talk is one of my favorite bands of all time
Rip Mark Hollis💔
I agree love this group
One of my fave bands and I love all the album "The Party's Over" - got in 82 and still a haunting treasure today xxx
I must've listened to this hundreds of times
A dear friend got me on to them..God I miss that friend
Without doubt the best yet most under rated band of the 80's/90's.
RIP Mark Hollis, a true great.
Yep ditto
I bought TPO after hearing "Have You Heard the News" on the radio, in 1982! I knew from that album, that they were special, and have come to love them and Mark more and more. So sad, his passing 🥺❤️

This is one of those late night listen songs - really magical...
In 1982 I was 18 and i Loved Mark Hollis and Talk Talk still do one of my favourite bands and he has a voice to die for with or without studio enough said
one of the few singers who actually sounds as good live as he does on his recorded tracks
He really does. Had the pleasure of seeing TT live back in -86.
I've always loved this track - ever since I first heart it when I was 16. Now at 48, it still moves me and takes me back to some very happy times.
Couldn’t agree more . I was 15 and still listen to this track religiously in my 50’s
I remember this song when I was 14. I always repeated it on the cassette deck from my parents. It was like a drug. I feel the same today
Absolutely masterpiece
His voice recorded live is faultless. Just amazing
Wow the live is even better than the studio version ... o.O that band is a legend !
What a charismatic inspirational frontman ..what a mindblowing voice...all the bands of TT were topnotch imo..
Simon Brenner's synth riff on here is just Heavenly.
indeed!
Another music genius left us.
I still love my Talk Talk CDs and DVDs
This is so beautiful. I never thought thet could pull this of live. It sounds better than the album version. A W E S O M E.......................
They were famous for being perhaps the best live band of the 80s, which is saying a lot. Bands were much better back then.
Excellent voice, synth, bass, drums, melody, harmony... Amazing song.
Wow, listen to that bass.
Música linda extremamente depressiva mais absurdamente bela...
Thanks to Talk Talk, wonderful song, nice voice, synths.
100% Mark Hollis perfect 😗😗
Just stunning. No more to be said.
Great song, begining of a new era : new wave sound frome the early 80ies
The keybords are incredible, wonderful sound. Talk Talk rocks !!!
And dat bass!
OMG......What a gift from "The Most High"......What a Voice!!!......Beauty Personified!!!....I would want that voice to sing to me every day and every night........Todah Abba (Thank You Father)...
I so agree, his voice is addictive and memorizing. My favourite band in the 80s.
Talk Talk is my life I was young !!!
Talk Talk forever !!!
This is one of the tracks I was playing back in the day, while attempting to survive when Thatcher was trying to starve and freeze us all into submission.
This man s singing would melt any woman heart
Oh yeah...
I'm a straight dude, and still... yeah.
he makes everyone's heart melt!!
Never, ever get bored of listening to this. Hollis absolute genius.
Beautiful blissful synth-pop.
My favourite Talk Talk track if I’m being honest!
His vocal chords are like a flute, or an oboe....a wind instrument....it is so beautiful off-set by the synth. No one else could do a song like this....no one! The bass strings thumping along...the drums all chunky...the song goes on far too long; on the album and here...but it's beautiful. ♫
Son chant, ses mélodies, ses arrangements sont grandioses. Plus globalement son œuvre tient même du génie

I honestly didn't think there existed a better voice....I've loved Mark's vocal since 1988 when I was 18...Beautiful ♥♥
I'm jealous of the age you were during the time period when this music was current.

The party's over
I never thought you'd stay
The love of laughter
My truth's no longer sane
The party's over
Much older than you'd say
This friend of no one
Time creases on your face
Take a look at the kids
I've been losing track
This crime of being uncertain of your love
Is all I'm guilty of
The party's over
I never thought you'd stay
A style of reason
This life of masquerade
Take a look at the kids
I've been losing track
This crime of being
Uncertain of your love
Is all I'm guilty of
Take this punishment away Lord
Name the crime I'm guilty of
Too much hope I've seen as virtue
Name the crime I'm guilty of
The best
mi mancano.......gran stile
grazie di esistere mark...
