It's always entertaining to watch a master of his trade work. I've seen most of your video's and have learned a lot. Thanks for taking the time to make these for us. Keep up the awesome work.
I love to watch your work. Great videos.. Watching someone who actually knows how to do whatever it is they are doing is killer. Love watching you work.
Trying crown molding with angles for the first time and you're the first person who explained in great detail. thank you. Crossing fingers...
Our master has 6 outside bullnose corners. We want crown but I had no idea how to wrap the bulnose. Hands down this is the best video that explains it. Thanks Richard.
Thank you so much for this. In 2020, during COVID, I trimmed out the house and used the approach in your video. Have used others as well and going to build and accent wall based on another of your videos. Hope you are well and thank you very much!!!! Wish you success!
Best person I've seen that explains how to install crown molding. 5 stars!!
bling0023 I agree , he is the best . A lot of idiots that don't know what they're doing on this subject on u tube .
I think your videos are among the best I've seen on these subjects.
this is the best Crown instruction I have seen. Great work! thanks
Needed a refresher it’s been a while since I have cut crown your video got me right back on track ... thank you!
Bro I just want to thank you for your content because I am new to the Crown molding game and this information is priceless👍 My job came out looking like I’ve been doing this for years

Thanks for sharing!
I hope you realize how good you are and how good your presentation is also. I have learned quite a bit and look forward to all of your videos
I definitely subscribed to your videos! I'm learning a lot!! Your a great teacher !!
Very thorough in this video. Detailed information on how to & why you do things a certain way. The dude mowing dirt, funny moment. The glue used is probably the only way to go about setting them fast for installation. Overall, 5 star video, great work, keep 'em coming!!
My compliments to a crafts man. Your explanation's are precise and easy to understand thanks.
Great tip about the CA glue! Works perfectly and super fast. Thanks!
I've actually gotten pretty good just by watching your videos. I even bought that CA glue. Lol greetings from Chicago my man. Thank you once again.
Thanks for this video it has helped me tremendously. I look forward to learning more from your videos.
Great information. I have put up quite a bit of crown and never used the 22.5 / 22.5 return but you bet I will on my next job. In fact I am going to use it on some chair rail... Thanks a Million.
Thanks to you (never done it before) I just finished installing crown in my first room! Inside corners, outside bull nose, butt cuts and I must say it turned out pretty good! I got the new Dewalt Flexvolt compound sliding miter saw (DHS790AT2 ) and it worked flawlessly. Oh Spackle is my friend! Thanks again for posting these!
Thank you for the help tips! I was just scratching my head how to end my molding without exposing the empty space at the edge!
Great video. You really know your stuff and are articulate.
gracias por compartir este video muy buena explicacion en los cortes, que ahora se hacen facil para hacer e instalar.

THX for the vid. Very well explained and very good tips....
Masterclass demo right there 💯🤙🏽🔥
Well worth my time good info wishing i worked with crown right about now
Thank you for explain how to end by using four 22.5 degree cuts to end into the wall. I wish I had watched this video before I started to cut up the other piece of crown.
Great job . As usual. Many thanks
Would make a great teacher! Well done!
Gracias amigo por compartir el video esta buena explicacion
gracias Bro. excellent explanation
WOW so glad I found you
beautiful work...
Amazing. Thanks for the schooling!
Thanks for the excellent crown vids... You really know your craft. And great, clear explanations.... Weird thing is that where I live the crown is always done with plaster extruded. Still have to know how to do angles, returns etc but plaster.... Takes the joy out of a good mitre saw! Anyhow, please keep producing trim carpentry vids. For my money, the hardest kind of carpentry.
+cognitor900 Thanks man. That plaster stuff is rugged. I had to tear some out one day. Not fun at all.
Great song choice, Tycho.
Este video tiene 6 años y yo sufriendo 😂 ahorita q lo vi senti una gran alegría q grande 🔥🔥🔥👏👏
Great video. Thanks!
thanks you, great film
Maestro.
Right on time. I saved this angle last
You are awesome! I have the same saw and crown guides, what blade do you use?
I can't understand why dislike the video??
59 insecure folk.
This dude is good! Great job!
You make very informative videos.
I see a crown stopper (The two items attached to the side of miter saw). Where do we get that?
Great tips...thanks!
I love your videos...very helpful...quick question. What type of clue do you use to glue the smaller pieces together?
thank god the landscaper is mowing that dirt!!!!
Great video....thank you
I like to add a small dab of white caulk/adhesive to the back side of small pieces to act as a glue against the sheetrock. I carry a small wet cloth to wipe off any squeeze out.
Can you use CA glue for outside wood projects? e.g., will it stand up to the rain and other outside elements like the sun? I plan to use crown molding in my pergola outside so that I can hide flat LED rope lighting. Of course I'll be tacking the crown molding to the horizontal 2x6's with finish nails.
Awesome job
Hey there very educational video.
Did yoiu sad proclasic oil base. It's been banned here in California
I learned a lot what kind of glue did you use to put them pieces together
Nice work
where can I get the metal guage thingy majig that is on your saw to hold the crown in place? The one that measures the TOP part of the crown from the fence/wall?
How do you calculate what the drop should be? The crown that I have is 5 1/8 symmetrical with a 45 deg spring angle. I have 9 ft ceilings, so does it have to sit at 45 or should I have it at 52?
good camera work changing focus between your face to the markings on the wall -- and on time.
Hey! you're the one!!! Great Teacher! with highest praise:
"Summa Cum Lauda"!
( used in diplomas to grant the highest of three special honors for grades above the average)
like the video was really helpful thanks
Can you show a few tricks you might use if the ceiling dips and the wall bows? Also, have you worked with Polystyrene and if so do you recommend it?
How do you remove CA glue from customers expensive counter tops.
Good work. so why you decided not to do vaulted up-cut on that?
great video! Please tell me what nail gun you use for crown molding? Thank you.
thanks. I use 18 gauge rigid pneumatic. and 16 gauge paslode propane . the 18 gauge makes smaller holes that are easier to fill. but the paslode is convenient because it doesn't have a hose.
What do you do when the wall projection change is only 1.75 inches and outside corner is Round (Bull Nose)? In your case here its 7-9 inches, in my home, I have several that are only 1.75 inches. Some are door projections for doorways without casing/door. It seems I'll just have to do two 45 degree cuts, Is that the right thing to do with the rounded outside corner? The Bull Nose 22.5 cuts won't work around a 1.75-inch change in projection. My Moulding has at least a 3-inch projection from the wall. It just seems weird as all my other outside corners will be Bull Nosed. Any suggestions or guidance would be much appreciated
Did you make the stop on your miter saw to hold the crown at the right angle?
Good video. The only thing that would make it better is a half way o.k. lapel mic.
What is the name of the glue you used and the other spray to help bonding?
The bodhisattva of crown molding.
What is the best wood for crown molding for basement
Great job buddy, how many psi is the compressor set at? That material is pretty soft.
Where can I find those crown molding stops you have on your saw?
That’s some bad ass glue
Does anyone in the UK know where to get MDF crown moulding? Seems fairly common in the US but I'm really struggling to find any as everything here is plaster, polyurethane etc. Cheers!
bud u no your shit u are a very smart person
I was ready to call a Crown Molding installer now, I will do it myself with your excellent video. I saved $600,00. You should be a instructor/teacher. Thanks from Patterson Ca.
+delanogaston Get off the drugs. I've had the miter saw for years. But, even if you bought a saw it would be cheaper in California.
Whats the degree on the inside corner angles? Have similar molding. Rookie diy`er
Hey please tell me what beat is playing in the background
So does that drop or cut off mean that it can't extend in one single flow. Is that required or preferred? Or is it that they don't line up when pitched or sloped up a wall?
The piece on your saw closest to you, that holds the crown... Is that an attachment I can buy? or did it just come on your saw?
odd the crown would stay nailed to sheet rock. you do nice work thanks for answering my question.i have learned alot from your vids thanks
+Rob Bobcat Yeah, as long as you use "v" pattern when shooting you will be okay. I've been doing it this way for the past 6 years and have never had any issues. I use 16 gauge and 18 gauge nails. Thanks for watching
AWESOME!
wow great job, question what is the name of the quard you have on your saw, that the ceiling part of the trim is resting on in this video? that seems very handy to help hold it at the proper angle, did your saw come with it or did you buy it special? I have a 12 ridge miter saw and it does not come with one.
thanks so much, I am restoring an old church where I live and of course all of my wall are not at all square:) so this is sooo fun:( like my page if you would like, and fingers crossed wish me luck.

What gauge nailer gun is best use for molding?
That's some impressive work, and you make it look easy! One question: what type of nailer are you using? Do you have any recommendations as far as gauge/nail size? I have plaster walls and have had trouble in the past getting a solid bite into the wall when installing crown
+dfw crown Excellent video, but on the topic of finishing nail guns, would it be better to install solid wood backing strips using a 15/16 gauge gun behind the crown molding to all studs and then use carpenters glue + 23 gauge nailer for the crown molding?
Advantages of this method:
small/invisible nail holes
crown molding secured to top and bottom irrespective of direction that ceiling joist run.
DFW are you nailing crown into studs?
Nice work!!!
Is that a dw717?...
CA glue? Thanks for the tip. I have always used a hot melt glue gun for smaller pieces. Not always convenient having to plug in the gun.
i used to use the hot melt glue, but that glue cannot be spread thin, and you cannot close the joint tight, especially with mdf trim. CA glue spreads thin and you can squeeze the joint tight.
how do u do inside corners?
Your work and the simplicity of your tutorials are amazing! You make me feel like I can accomplish just anything I put my mind into. Before I started following you I was sooo scared of angles, and cuts and blah, blah, blah and now everything makes sense! Thank you so much for taking the time to do and upload your videos. Never stop!
