- This is the first new difficulty to be added to the Long Dark since Interloper in 2016, called "Misery". This mode is harder than interloper, with afflictions being applied to the player at set intervals through your run. This mode was made for the intention of certain death. No 500 day runs, no 3 yearlong saves. You are supposed to die at some point. How long can we survive?

So far these misery afflictions seem on par. Broken body after the adrenaline of surviving a crash sets in, frigid bones after spending days in this climate with not much clothing, and going into hypothermia risk multiple times. I'm so interested to see how this progresses.

Nice run so far.
When you spawn at the burnt out cabin look for a hacksaw as there is a 50/50 shot one spawns with you.
I would not hoard food as it will be useless to you in a few days when it drops below 50%and even cooking 5 is useless so eat drink and be well fed.
BTW so far I have not found one can opener so they may have either taken it out or there is a bug?

Id settle for a more realistic recovery rate. Non at all just seems too depressing, and game breaking. It might be nice as an optional setting you can play around with. I mean, from a realism point of view we are pretty resilient creatures so being able to recover over time's a must for me.
43:53 The aurora doesn't magically generate light indoors. You need a lamp or other electric light source for that!
This is one of the many reasons I slightly prefer Camp Office to Trapper's Cabin as a base :)
Btw, when I started my misery run, i quickly found Cardboard matches and i was kinda bewildered tbh lol. As far as I know it's impossible to het those on interloper and misery no?

You carry so much water and complain of weight 😂, you give up all your coal to carry 1.5 gallons of water. You can make water anywhere
