I think Kaneki did create dragon. The image from chapter 1 that Kaneki drew when Hide asked him what he thinks a ghoul looks like is almost identical to the head of dragon.
I mean appearance wise, obviously he didn’t manifest the entirety of that Kaijuu monster but I think he did somewhat control its appearance. The Naga serpent looks completely different from Kaneki’s which wouldn’t make sense if this wasn’t the case.
No matter what may happen there is a big chance Kaneki will lose himself again, in the review for episode nine (anime version) we hear Touka saying "Kaneki" in a worried state, things will not end up happy.
Alex n00b I read the manga and know how everything plays out but if you haven’t I suggest you do :) the anime really is not doing this manga justice at all in my opinion. I know I’m not alone in this value and it’s definitely oversaid.
Since the Washu are a clan of ghouls that just wanted to be human, I think I know what Dragon's purpose truly was. Rize's rebirth was the prototype process of creating a genetically perfect ghoul. Basically, when Rize would be reborn she probably would have been made purely of RC cells. Not any RC cells either. The way the cells were manufactured in Dragon was essentially a compress and refine method, and this created RC cells that didn't need to feast because of their purity. I think Dragon was a way for the Washu to stay ghouls while also never needing to eat humans ever again. This would have let them live at peace with the rest of the world.
So if what you are saying might be true and the process works correctly as you say then I don't think the ghouls would still be safe due to fear of the past or the strength and power they possess Ghouls were feared due to their nature, strength and the threat they possess and even if they don't eat humans, the government and CCG will still try to destroy all of them claiming that despite the change, "ghouls will be ghouls and humans will be humans. We will never stand in equal grounds as long as one of us exist" and with DRAGON in the equation, it will never work due to humans fear of ghouls so yeah No offense but this fact is a double edged sword that still needed someone to step up and unite both kinds together

I like the fact the dragon had 3 day time period of activation which shows it's metabolism needed 3 days to process all of it. I believe Furuta and Kaneki were partners in crime but they got unnecessary crap. Furuta I don't think of him as Gary Stu. Who said Furuta knew Kaneki would come to save them ? It could be Kaneki came and he just changed his plan accordingly. Evidence - he could have done the same had Kaneki done what Mutsuki wrote in the letter. All he needed was a desperate Kaneki and Oggai in the same place. I hate when it was said Kaneki the OEK is trash. After all this development he didn't learn a single damn thing. People ignore the statement - "I couldn't have just said let's all go back because I have bad feeling" which clearly indicates that he at least considered taking others with him. I know as stupid as the reason of coming back because of a bad feeling is. He had no way of knowing what the scale of the operation would be.
Can you possibly explain Kaneki’s final kakuja that he uses against Furuta? It looks so amazing and seems OP as hell. But I know that kagune and kakuja change based on experiences. And I was wondering what experiences his final form reflected. Because he didn’t have a mask or that beak, and nothing really resembling a centipede. I thought that was interesting. Anyone have any thoughts on that?
I wanna assume that Kaneki never used his full power against Furuta, since a true Kakuja has no mask. That makes us hype for a stronger Kaneki form in future writings.

yea idk how furuta got his hands on rize, but he did. One chapter you can see rize is locked up in a tank, and furuta uses her kakuhou to make the Oggai squad. Then furuta 'forced kaneki' to eat the squad resulting in a sudden increase of rize's rc cells, making dragon. remember, kaneki's kagune is from rize
But that is back when Rize is in Kanou possession right? I mean after that Yomo saved her and kept her locked away when Kaneki turned into the Half Kakuja for the first time.

I also just want to say kenkamishiro over on Tumblr and Twitter, who is a great translator for the community, just translated an interview done by Buzzfeed Japan on Sui Ishida and Takahashi Kokomitsu (the musician for österreich (the band that did Incompetence (TG √A) and You of Paradise (TG :re S2). The artist is a former guitarist for a band Ishida was a fan of.) It's a very interesting interview that gives a lot of insight on the end of tg and Ishida as a person.

Thank you for this. I don't read manga, and just watch anime (ya'll chill). and this series is really fascinating to me and there are so many question marks. Usually that's how it is due to the anime being a condensed version of the manga. Parts that are confusing due to little development/explanation in anime: the one eyed owl having a random change of heart after the fight with Kaneki. What's happening with Kaneki's mental state and multiple personalities. Rize is a huge one, along with V, their plan and members.
Looking back could it be that when Kaneki got out of the dragon he left behind Rize’s kagune and his RC cells evolved into his own? That would explain the change in kagune/kakuja that happened.

Nah, maybe this is better. After tokyo ghoul, tg:re just didn't seem to capture my interest as much. It had its moments, alot of which was just shock, but it was not the same kind of vibe I got from the first story.

Something that I would like to point out. Don't the Orphans at the end of the series look like the drawing that Kaneki drew to show what he thought ghouls looked like? This is from back in Tragedy, the first chapter of Tokyo Ghoul. It all might have been a subconscious part on Kaneki that made the Orphans into the "ghouls" that eat both humans and ghouls (who actually do look like humans).
arima is from the washuu family i believe. He was a half ghoul and had heightened abilities but no kagune. Half ghouls like him and Hsiao age quicker, so he developed a disease which made him blind i think.
Could you do a video on how Furuta knew Kaneki would have his mind break into Dragon? Like how did he know that Kaneki would be the perfect host for Rizes organs to make a perfect ghoul, to know that Kaneki would have a mind break to turn him into Furuta? Did Furuta KNOW Kaneki has all his personalities in his head? Did he study Kaneki's old personalities or something?
Hugotistical it’s never properly told but it was implied that Furuta knew a lot of things thanks to Dr Kanou and V, as well as their experience with the previous Dragon (Naga Serpent) What Furuta didn’t know was Kanekis escape from Dragon which he was surprised he survived. Basically V and Dr Kanou were the ones feeding information and realizing Kaneki was basically a Artificial one eyed with Rizes pure Rc Cells. ( that’s makes him a Artificial one eyed Washuu ghoul in theory ) In terms he was the same as the previous host for Naga ( a pure one eyed Washuu ghoul )
It was Rize not a carbon copy. It was my understanding she never died. they had her in a lab transferring her rc cells to other candidates until yomo captured her in the first manga but yomo wasn't in possession of her in the second and they later began using her rc cells again later after Dr.Kanu started working for the ccg. However the algori tree hadn't made anymore ghoul hybrids with her kagune which implies that the ccg had possession of rize the entire time and her use didn't begin until after futura took power again. Futura implanted her into the dragon after Kaneki made it making her the second nucleus which makes sense because the dragon was an adaptation of her own rc cells so she could effectively take over as the host even if Kaneki was removed.
Hey there, just wanted to thank you for your continued advocacy of the quality of the TG manga. And remember, this world is not wrong, or right; it just *is*.
Please correct me, cuz I am probably wrong. Furuta's whole plan was to create Naga 2.0 (aka Dragon). He knew Rize had the right RC cells but also that she alone wasn't enough. He knew Naga was a one eyed ghoul so he manipulated events to turn Kaneki into a Rize infused one eyed ghoul. He manipulates events throughout the series to eventually cause Kaneki to turn into the nucleus for Dragon. He hopes that after Dragon does its thing that it would rebirth Rize into the strongest ghoul of all time. But I am not sure what he hoped to gain by creating such an entity. Did he plan to use her power to further his or the Washuu family's own causes? Was he a cultist of sorts who hoped to serve her? Was he just curious about would of happened if Naga succeeded? Did he even know what would happen after Dragon rebirthed a much more powerful Rize? TLDR; I think I understand how Dragon, Rize, and Kaneki all work and fit together, but how did Furuta know about all this and why did he do it? Edit: One more thing I don't know. Did Furuta want the mass ghoulification of Tokyo to happen or did he just consider it a side-effect of sorts.
I think a lot of the confusion about dragon is due to the mystery of how exactly RC cells work. It would be interesting to research further on the science of RC cells. If a solid scientific theory could be made, then I think everything would make a whole lot more sense.
So I need a explaintion. I only watch the anime. So I know Kaneki, is human gets turned into a half ghoul. Gets tortured by Jason turns into white hair Kaneki. Goes fighting, leaves the coffee shop and I guess after getting captured changed into Haise. Am I right so far? After some stuff, the Haise persona turns back into Kaneki. Which he then fights and kills Arima. Which he becomes the new one eyed owl? But now he is dragon. All while this is going on. Everyone is alive and being turned into a half ghoul. And Rize is alive and well and being picked at to be given to others to be powerful ghouls. Am I missing anythinf

Also it is probably related to dragon itself as it gave something resembling wings but in his case it was much more wings of freedome.

Looking back could it be that when Kaneki got out of the dragon he left behind Rize’s kagune and his RC cells evolved into his own? That would explain the change in kagune/kakuja that happened.

Nah, maybe this is better. After tokyo ghoul, tg:re just didn't seem to capture my interest as much. It had its moments, alot of which was just shock, but it was not the same kind of vibe I got from the first story.

character development for who? I'd say almost all the characters had a thorough enough development and we even got to understand their motives!

After the whole dragon arc (and even a little before that) I dont recall seeing kaneki having his iconic mask on😢 Does that mean he doesn’t use it anymore or discarded it and left it in the past w the past him? Something that I would like to point out. Don't the Orphans at the end of the series look like the drawing that Kaneki drew to show what he thought ghouls looked like?
This is from back in Tragedy, the first chapter of Tokyo Ghoul. It all might have been a subconscious part on Kaneki that made the Orphans into the "ghouls" that eat both humans and ghouls (who actually do look like humans).

arima is from the washuu family i believe. He was a half ghoul and had heightened abilities but no kagune. Half ghouls like him and Hsiao age quicker, so he developed a disease which made him blind i think.
He's a half ghoul without a machine (that's why he's soooo strong)
Arima is from Washuu Arima clan, His father is Tsuneyoshi Washuu The Chairman of CCG, His mother is a human, That's why Arima is Half Human.

Could you do a video on how Furuta knew Kaneki would have his mind break into Dragon? Like how did he know that Kaneki would be the perfect host for Rizes organs to make a perfect ghoul, to know that Kaneki would have a mind break to turn him into Furuta? Did Furuta KNOW Kaneki has all his personalities in his head? Did he study Kaneki's old personalities or something?
Hugotistical it’s never properly told but it was implied that Furuta knew a lot of things thanks to Dr Kanou and V, as well as their experience with the previous Dragon (Naga Serpent) What Furuta didn’t know was Kanekis escape from Dragon which he was surprised he survived. Basically V and Dr Kanou were the ones feeding information and realizing Kaneki was basically a Artificial one eyed with Rizes pure Rc Cells. ( that’s makes him a Artificial one eyed Washuu ghoul in theory )
In terms he was the same as the previous host for Naga ( a pure one eyed Washuu ghoul )

It was Rize not a carbon copy. It was my understanding she never died. they had her in a lab transferring her rc cells to other candidates until yomo captured her in the first manga but yomo wasn't in possession of her in the second and they later began using her rc cells again later after Dr.Kanu started working for the ccg. However the algori tree hadn't made anymore ghoul hybrids with her kagune which implies that the ccg had possession of rize the entire time and her use didn't begin until after futura took power again. Futura implanted her into the dragon after Kaneki made it making her the second nucleus which makes sense because the dragon was an adaptation of her own rc cells so she could effectively take over as the host even if Kaneki was removed.

Please correct me, cuz I am probably wrong. Furuta's whole plan was to create Naga 2.0 (aka Dragon). He knew Rize had the right RC cells but also that she alone wasn't enough. He knew Naga was a one eyed ghoul so he manipulated events to turn Kaneki into a Rize infused one eyed ghoul. He manipulates events throughout the series to eventually cause Kaneki to turn into the nucleus for Dragon. He hopes that after Dragon does its thing that it would rebirth Rize into the strongest ghoul of all time. But I am not sure what he hoped to gain by creating such an entity. Did he plan to use her power to further his or the Washuu family's own causes? Was he a cultist of sorts who hoped to serve her? Was he just curious about would of happened if Naga succeeded? Did he even know what would happen after Dragon rebirthed a much more powerful Rize?
TLDR; I think I understand how Dragon, Rize, and Kaneki all work and fit together, but how did Furuta know about all this and why did he do it?
Edit: One more thing I don't know. Did Furuta want the mass ghoulification of Tokyo to happen or did he just consider it a side-effect of sorts.

I think a lot of the confusion about dragon is due to the mystery of how exactly RC cells work. It would be interesting to research further on the science of RC cells. If a solid scientific theory could be made, then I think everything would make a whole lot more sense.
So I need a explaintion. I only watch the anime. So I know Kaneki, is human gets turned into a half ghoul. Gets tortured by Jason turns into white hair Kaneki. Goes fighting, leaves the coffee shop and I guess after getting captured changed into Haise. Am I right so far? After some stuff, the Haise persona turns back into Kaneki. Which he then fights and kills Arima. Which he becomes the new one eyed owl? But now he is dragon. All while this is going on. Everyone is alive and being turned into a half ghoul. And Rize is alive and well and being picked at to be given to others to be powerful ghouls. Am I missing anythinf
