Awesome new video!
Great video, please make a video explaining African civilizations
I will confess that Africa is the one area I don’t know that much about. Admittedly, the history of Africa is often treated as a horror story, especially in America. It is too often dominated as ‘what not to do as a state’ or ‘why imperialism is bad’, but this video presents the rich history of Africa, as simply the rich history of Africa. Thank you for your contributions to the spreading of this history!
You are welcome
So much rich history in this region
Excellent! I love the visuals and the animation and the level of detail you included is amazing. Thank you so much for being part of this collaboration!
Thank you for inviting me
If the Ashanti Kingdom still existed with the same relative wealth today as it had in its past, then it would be a rich first-world country with the highest per capita GDP in the world. 👍🏽 👍🏽 👍🏽
It’s great to finally learn some African history thanks for doing this man
Glad you enjoyed it
I'm here based on recommendation from Kraut! Glad to support geopolitical history from African perspective! Howfa?!? Howdeygo?!!?
Everything dey ooo, thank you for the view
As someone who’s studies Asante history this is probably the best doc I’ve seen on UA-cam. Because you covered things I’ve yet to see ppl on UA-cam do.
Thanks for your kind words, I'm honoured
That fish jenga bit at 7:50 got me GOOD
an old joke, from an absolute legend
@@Bamise but theyre not in england therefore handling salmon in suspicious circumstances shouldnt be a problem
"Emperor who sits atop a throne that contains the souls of his people" is an incredible detail. I don't know how yet, but that's definitely going to make an appearance in my D&D game
sounds cool
No one sit on the golden stool not even the king
This is an amazing video! I never heard much about the Asante Empire, even in school. So hearing about its strength, culture, social structure, and more makes me pretty eager to learn more.
Although, I have two general questions:
- What languages were most popular in the Asante Empire and did the Asante Empire enforce said language?
- Does the culture and social structure of the Asante Empire still affect modern-day West African nations?
I thank you dearly.
We speak Twi
Glad you enjoyed it!
-Yes, they promoted and encouraged the use of Twi
-Yes
That's truly despicable... no one should be punished for fish Jenga
suspicious handing
I love ancient African history and I enjoy hearing it from its people ❤
This is a ******* fish Jenga! Great job on the video
glad you enjoy it
Wow! If the Ashanti Kingdom still existed with the same relative wealth today as it had in its past, then it would be a rich first-world country with the highest per capita GDP in the world. 👍🏽 👍🏽 👍🏽
I LOOOVE countryballs. Reminds me of my experiments with drawing tablets in high school. Glad to see so many of them lately in my favourite videos. Just like this one.
Maybe I should dust my tablet off and get some countryballs for my stuff
Same here!
@@Bamise any tips on making countryball animatics and animations?
Holy smokes, nice editing!
BEADDDDSSS
@@Bamise CHIPPIES
@@ordinal2361 all of them
I see that you're slowly populating your shelves with items representing the cultures you've talked about, clever ;P
😎
Thank you for this video I’m first generation American from Ghana🙏🏾💕
You are welcome, hope you stay for other videos
Proud Ashanti 🫡
I remember when I was in discord and saw you making this video! I love your videos as they give so much information about history that I am not well versed in. I also find it interesting in how important of a role the Ohema had, a pretty interesting position to give a woman in terms of power structures and choosing successors. One question was this a reflection of greater gender role structures in the area (women determining inheritance) or was it only limited to this rulership?
Religious Priest in Asante were mostly women
@@Bamise that would explain why the women seem to have the role of appointers as appointments of power usually do have a very sacred function to them.
The channel is getting better with every video! Keep it up!
Appreciate it!
Great job on the animations. I’d be interested in seeing international phonetic alphabet with the names to help me understand how the spelling and sounds relate to each other.
You can join the discord server to remind me on that
It would be nice if you could add subtitles to the video because it can sometimes be hard to understand you.
Done and corrected, didn't have to much this time
The intro animation is beautiful 😚
Comment for statistics! I can see that the quality of the material, and above all, your boldness is improving. cheers!
Thank you! Cheers!
omg this is one f the best vids i have seen
ty bamise
Really brilliant! This is an empire I've heard of many times, but didn't know any detail about other than that it was powerful. Are you going to make a video explaining how the Asante were incorporated into the Gold Coast by Britain (that's what happened, right?).
That's the video I set out to make, however, this story seemed more interesting. I make that video later.
I was so excited for this!! I don't know nearly as much Akan history as I would like to. Great work as always, ashé from Cuba ❤️🕊️
Glad you enjoyed it!
Kraut, whom I recently discovered this week, sent me here. You just got yourself another sub, lovely work 👍👍
Welcome aboard!
Very cute art style :3
I'm glad you like it
Great video as always Bámisé
Glad you enjoyed!
I love a good Countryball history video
Keep up the great content Bamise!
Thanks, will do!
Oh this channel looks like a treat, subscribed!
Cool video! I love African history and plan to do an African history video myself in the future!
❤️❤️❤️ I have enjoyed all the creators on this series. The whole series in its entirely should be shown in schools. Love love, love. ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much
Looking forward to checking out more!
Awesome, thank you!
Incredibly well made video
Great video, subscribed.
Awesome, thank you!
Best work yet
Happy Black History month and props to all those who have produced excellence.

Your improvements seem relentless, great work!
Glad you think so!
Yo just started watching your content after a friend on discord introduced me and it is fire. I binge watched from ep 1 and I loved all of it. Could you pls do an ep on Kororofa sometime if possible thnx
Added to the list
Who do you consider to have been the greatest ruler of the Asante Empire?
Hmm, Well I don't thing I can really answer that question objectively
@@Bamise Okay.
Not sure of the best, but my favourites are;
Osei Bonsu
Osei Tutu
Opoku Ware
Osei Kwadwo
Kusi Obodom
Kwaku Dua I
Simple, Opoku Ware I
My dude, if I had money I would definitely support your work!
I appreciate that
I looooove the intro ❤

Thanks for time, really appreciated
countryballs! i love countryballs! i also love learning about these empires, since i mostly learned about american and european with some world histories.
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
Bless you man!
As an Akan myself(Fante), you nailed the "Boa Amponsem" pronunciation 😂
I got a wonderful teacher
@@Bamise doubtless!
Such a good video Shame many people only seem interested in western history
It's a good video but as someone in the US it can be hard to understand the accent
The asante people came from the empire of ghana the land of gold thats how ghana got its name because of the asante and other akans
hmm, so the people who live in Benin came form the empire of Benin?
Just an FYI:: The link to the playlist is broken.
Actually, most of the links are broken.
Fixed, thanks so much
big ups, i especially like your animation
also somewhat disappointed this isnt about a man that had poop made of gold. great video tho
Lol
Thank you
Thank you for not including the Fante states in the Asante territory. People always get the wrong
Nice to see that I'm not the only African making countryball content, keep up the work! :D

Hello can u do Biafra history
Certainly
Background music so loud it makes it impossible to listen to. Fix it and do a reupload.
one last thing - what is the intro song called?
It's an original song by youtube.com/@MostlyMiSinging
Not woke propaganda, much interesting.
Why do I find the dialect oddly relaxing?
