SUMO puts a limit on the number of modes, keeping it the same as the number of nodes. I'm wondering if this restriction still allows us to obtain a good cumulative mass participation factor.

      Hi Angel Musonda,
The maximum number of modes that Sumo can calculate is not limited by the number of nodes, but rather by the number of unrestrained degrees of freedom. If you want more modes, you can split beam elements in the properties palette to introduce more degrees of freedom.
      Kind Regards

@@prokon6061 My model has 12 nodes and 48 unrestrained degrees of freedom. When I ask for 18 modes, the software specifically returns this error message: "Too many mode shapes. The number of mode shapes (18) must be less than, or equal to, the number of nodes (12)."

      Hi,
Levels can be defined at different elevations in the input tables. Grids can be imported from a DWG or defined with the tools found in the Insert tab, Helper panel.
