yo i have a question about your rear hub, what drive system does it use? joytech clone profile/primo mix clone or is it a q-lite hub? cause i think the q-lite hubs were bomb, loud enough without being annoying and a really good amount of engagement, and it seems to lend itself to a bi-rectional hub with a few design mods. WTP has used them for a long time, shadow did for awhile, and i think someone else as well. dartmoor uses that design as well.
The Drone hub uses a system of 3 pawls with individual springs, imagine Profile/Primo but instead of 4 Pawls (which are actually 2+2 systems, the pawls are paired offset so only 2 engage at a time), the Drone is 3 pawls timed to engage at the same time. Each pawl has multiple teeth and is shaped so all teeth are mated when engaged. The drive ring also has more teeth than any other hub. We did look at bi-rectional hubs but they could not fit the same system we use and use a 17mm axle, we decided to go with the better drive system and larger axle over being switchable. With our hub the pawls and springs are held/push against hardened steel surfaces (driver and drive ring) compared to q-lite systems where the pawls are located in the softer alloy surface of the hub body material - the pawls reversed orientation pushing the alloy hub shell outwards combined with spoke tension pulling the flange outwards can lead to a failure where the hub splits apart (which we’ve actually seen in person).
yeah ive seen some q lite hubs blow up, however with a good shell the system works pretty well. also sounds like a pretty sweet hub, the toothed pawls should work nicely. keep up the awesome work dude!
Its cool that you started adding music to the Vlog, it's wayyyyy too loud compared to the volume of the camera recorded stuff tho. Like whenever I watch this on higher volume my speakers blow off my roof everytime music starts :D
