@Nick West yeah it seems a little defensive, bc it’s a lingering question for anyone who enjoyed the show, and even still with On cinema. Are we laughing with them or at them? At them doesn’t feel too good
i lways noticed doug in the background and it wasnt until the seasons ended i realized how smart that guy is. he can do anything. editing, mixing, and is a fckn pro at it. im so glad tim brought him in because he doesnt really get the recognition he deserves. his pound house series was hilarious
Howie as a film buff and big Pinocchiohead i just want to say thanks for bringing your talent to Pinocchio 3000 AKA P3k this was a groundbreaking animation experience a la Shrek and Shrek 2 and Shrek the Tird and thanks for all the voice talent and acting!!
Arguably, Tim and Eric heavily shaped the internet humor zeitgeist more than any other comedy team. They're paradoxically alternative comedy, in some ways, but also the complete opposite in many others.
It's UA-cam comments so I can't tell if this is sarcasm but Howie was absolutely an alt comic in his time. It makes perfect sense he would be into Tim and Eric.
This sketch is genius. The worst part about working background in Las Vegas is hearing all these same exact stories each person one upping the other with projects they've worked on. Or how they are planning a move to NY or LA to take acting seriously. But never do... not gonna lie in the beginning I was guilty of telling my own lame stories between filming. Kinda doing that now in this comment. Haha
Phil Hendrie would have been an excellent guest to add a few words here to what it's like to have guests or guest actors come in cold and not be given any inside skinny on what's really going on in a goof/sketch situation.
It’s ironic hearing howie speak about an interview show that’s actually a bit so casually when it actually happened to him on the Eric Andre show. Maybe he was in on it, but I don’t think so….
The fact that people are still trying to figure out these super old sketches just shows how revolutionary Tim and Eric's comedy was. They have both moved on to do such a variety of different things, separately and together, but in 2022 people are still talking about the show and, in this case, analysing one little sketch from T&E Awesome Show, Great Job! They changed comedy and no one even knew it was happening. Off the top of my head, the only comparison I can think of in terms of the affect on comedy in a broader sense is Monty Python. I loved Tim saying "where else are they going to fit in, except for our world?". It's a nice sentiment. One criticism that is levelled at them is that they exploit people who aren't fully aware, but at the same time, they do give them screen time, and it's far less exploitative than any "reality TV" shows. Brilliant stuff, it'll go down in history. A lot of the Gen-Z humour is definitely T&E inspired. Tim Heidecker is a genius. I know that he and Eric were - and sometimes still are - a duo, but Tim is an intellectual and in recent years has really mellowed out and offered his own interpretations and insights into that work, when back when they were first around, interviews were just more spaces for gags/goofs and spoofs. But since then, he's gone onto construct the On Cinema universe with Gregg Turkington, which is just huge in itself. Tim also put out some great records too. He seems like a really cool guy as well as a comedy genius.
@@PaulRodriguez9 I have since watched the whole podcast episode and you're right. She doesn't interject very often, but still this clip is not a good representation of her contributions lol
@@DR-420-69 I think you might be new to entertainment. It's pretty common for one person to do the interview and the co-host to be there just to support, as in throwing in a funny line, asking a follow-up question, making sure there's no awkward silence, keeping the interview flowing, pulling up video clips etc etc. Have you ever seen Conan O'Brien and Andy Richter?

I really enjoy T&E's comedy, always have.. but let's not sugar coat it here, a lot of the jokes were at the expense of these people. They paraded them like freaks sometimes.
This hurts to much to watch. The guys are so uncomfortable, and have no idea how to respond to half the shit thrown at them by Howie and his daughter. Further illustrates just how much these a-listers separate their existence from the rest of the world. Howie truly is clueless, and I'm not sure I'm convinced he has an ounce of familiarity with their work. Maybe a 30-minute cramming sesh the night before?
I do imagine Tim got uncomfortable when asked about his casting of borderline mentally handicapped, mentally ill people. It's funny, but without a doubt exploitative.
Say what you want, everyone has their opinions, but what Sandy Bagnani said is factual👆; Their style has drastically changed/influenced the style of mainstream comedy

Nice to see Howie leaning into more alternative comedy, even if it's a little late

@Callum Gillies as a fan who's been watching since it started, it's pretty amazing.
WE LOVE HOWIE AND WE LOVE TIM AND ERIC AND ON CINEMA!!!
I saw David Liebe Heart pan handling on the Santa Monica pier when I visited LA this year.
He's one of the mainstay buskers at the Hollywood Bowl too. Just don't try to talk to him about T&E he does NOT like it.
I always felt like Richard Dunn and Ben Hur “got it”.
Dunn was nothing like his bewildered character. In the outtakes he kept shamelesly flirting with Tanese Gray and making her laugh
Ben Hur doesn’t get enough respect
RIP Tom Cruise Heidecker JR...forever in our hearts
