Day 33: ecd mini sticks
We will see!
Appreciate your passion for the project haha
@@ECD ECD actually makes sense, you all seem the most connected to your fan base as of right now.
I'm salty I got new shoulder pads this year.
Same
Agreed it is bad timing for some. The same thing happened to me in college with the head spec change
Same
I got the Rome RX3's right before college and the buckle broke 3 games in, so this season I got the Cell 4 liners and now I need another pair...
this rule is really making me get rid of my shoulder pads i’ve been using for 8 years, yet they don’t even wear shoulder pads in the pll 😐
right?
Who’s gonna make you wear them no one why buy new pads if no ones gonna check
When’s the Cascade XRS review
Working on getting a few!
Interesting. Just got my son the True Zero Lyte. Also conforms to the NOCSAE standard. He tried on pretty much everything on the market, speed pad and those with the shoulder cap. His preference of the Zero Lyte was due to the bulky feel he got from the EKG. H e didn't think he would get the same range of motion from that one. True also use a central hard plastic, but not triangular like the EKG. Would be interested in seeing what your opinion is and how it stacks up against the others.
Y’all should review the Optik 3.0
Coming soon! Just strung a few for Jordan wolf
@@ECD let’s go
@@ECD are you gonna make a stringing tutorial for his pocket soon?
I want to start to play defense in lacrosse what is a good shoulder pad for playing defense.
What would be the best for attack men
I play midde but prob gonna start playing more attack. I am a shooter not much of a dodger. I play Real physical ride. I’m a freshman on varsity and not really that big. I have always gravitated to smaller shoulders. Which do you think I should wear??
Thanks
I have the Stx ones, I would definitely recommend them because they don’t fee that bulky and you can customize them a lot to fit
@@Ryan-sh1fw thanks
Can you make a video on the new Optik 3?
Can y’all do a review on the new evo shoulder pads
I can tell from experience Velcro is better
I’m thinking about getting a custom strung mirage 2.0 from your guys website could you tell me how much whip is in the mid pocket configuration
For me I asked a medium whip and it was a little too much for me, I got used to it but I returned it and asked for a whip level 3 the next time and got a perfect pocket.
@@Freebie6 thanks a lot ill take your advice!
I would say our mid is a 5/10
Does this apply to college club (specifically NCLL)?
Can you try the STX Shadow Pro?
Yes for sure!
Which one of these would you suggest for a midfielder because I can't decide between the Maverik and STX?
FYI those clips on the STX will slip out if your a midfielder or like to dodge from X. The cell 4 double Velcro were great no need to readjust. STX will hopefully bring that back.
The Nike are fireeee
Hiw do Refs check for EKG?
There's a tag on the pad that says EKG on it, also they might know the types of pads in advance so if you're wearing like the maverick that's really recognizable then they can check by that
Makes you think, is NOCSAE working with these companies to make things "certified" in order for players to have to rebuy all of their pads.
Forcing people and especially youth players, to pay $120 for some "certified" pads that are most likely less protective than what they already own seems to be counteracting growing a sport
conspiracy
Warrior ones are best
So who needs to get the new pads? All ages?
i think its everyone cuz its for your safety
Company didn’t take into consideration our sty…. Smh
I love how Nike is the least amount of protection but most expensive
Yeah not sure how it is certified
@@LAWDOG2024 the only thing that matters for the certification is the part on your chest
@@Cdahl32 I am surprised how thin and small the padding is.
I happen to be a very large human and none of these will fit me
They do come in multiple sizes
I swear I heard him say Nazi standard not NOCASE...
It’s nocsae pronounce knock see
Will ECD ever venture into the protective gear market? maybe as a collab with another brand?
that would be crazy.
They made an elbow pad it’s so comfortable
The new shoulder pads look so dusty😭 maverick max speed shoulder pads(without the ekg) is just the best
yeah they all look trash
I still got my Stx shadow shoulder pads from 2014 lmao😂 I also don’t like how the ekg in the maverick one makes you look fat
They def all do stick out some from the chest and look a little awkward. But tradeoff some looks for safety
@@ECD pshh never had any problems with my thin pads, if I die, I die, it would be my fault
@@Ryan-sh1fw More along the lines that you cant play without new pads....
@@LAXdotCOMtv yeah Ik, I just don’t like the new rule that much
ordered my jersey large and i got a medium and all my pictures from the front or the side make me look super fat with the maverik one
As a defensive player I can say I have recently bought the Maverick pads and they work really great especially for when I have to go for ground balls and look for passes to my teammates it really does give you a lot of motion
Defenseman do need the most protection. They aren’t getting checked as much but they are standing in front of the goal and probably get hit the most by shots. Thanks for the review. It was very helpful.
Goalies need more obviously
Thanks for the review. If It’s helpful to other readers, my son has been wearing the new standard STXs cell V for a couple of months now and he constantly complains that they ride up around his neck. It could be that we don’t have them fitted properly but they are the same size as his previous STX cell pads but seem to fit differently.
Thanks for sharing this feedback! I know people will love to see this.
I have the STX Cell V and they do ride up a lot
Is there any chance you will review the warrior and true pads that meet the new rules? the true speed pad looks nice but no one really has anything out about it yet.
I don’t like liners because as a shorter player when someone shoots their stick comes right down on my shoulder and it hurts real bad
Nah I’m not gonna buy some new ones
I have the maverick ones and after you break them in it starts to squeak a little and make noise, but it’s very comfortable.
Gonna have to cut these like I do all my other pads 😂.
Stx ones look great for midfield and the Nike ones for defense, I’m probably gonna get the stx ones because I dont like the triangle with the maverick, plus the stx has less pads that go around the shoulder
Can you link the one you’re talking about? Thanks.
$100 for pair of shoulder pads pshh, smdh lax headed in wrong direction lmao
Do I need the new ones for high school?
Probably
Starting 1/1/2022 you will need them for all ages of play except in the PLL
Best for a highschool fogo? I was thinking Nike since it is so minimalistic
Still waiting on the ECD goalie head
i prefer the max speed pad over the rome speed pad, cheaper, has clips and it’s the same thing basically so
I just got the maverick max ekg pads
What size is the stx pads?
I play 6th grade lax and this year I got a ECD stick I never really was good at lax but this year I scored 47 goals in 15 games I love the stock thanks
It is the wizard not the wand. ;)
Which pads are thicker on the chest: STX Cell V liners or STX Shadow Pros?
They feel very similar. I always recommend trying pads on in person
wait will i need to change my pads for summer beer league?
Not sure, I don't think so
My maverik have been working very good. Super light and comfortable. Only thing I’ve noticed is that I can’t really put my arms above my head. But I love them.
Also, my weapon x has been working fantastically
Edit: also, my maverik ones have a Clip as well
you gonna comment this on every post?🤨
@@kuzemp it’s relevant so only when it’s relevant
yeah but I bet your a white boy with rich parents! What about all of the minority players who barely could afford the equipment. Now they need to buy an $110 shoulder pad? Don't you get? We NEED to help grow the diversity of the game, not make reinforcing the stereotype that white boys only play lacrosse.
@@nxjacome12 not cool stereotyping
@@stephencantner7417 Look, I'm all for safety - but this is simply solving a problem that doesn't really exist. Why not require throat guards for all field players? Why not require rib guards for all players? Requiring this equipment continues to widen the gulf between those who can afford the necessary lacrosse equipment and those who cannot
Can we get a video explaining how to string whip and different type of pockets?
Why do they call them liners when literally no one wears pads over them. We need to normalize bicep pads.
