  • In this episode of The Well, Pastor Phil and Les Norman are joined by Clayton and Shari King from Clayton King Ministries. Clayton and Shari shared wins from the marriage conference they led at Abundant Life this past weekend and answered the question, “How do you know you are a Christian?
It’s easy to distort what it means to be a Christian. You can be wrong about many things, but salvation is the one thing you must be right about because you do not get a second chance at salvation after you die. Clayton shares 5 big misconceptions people have about what it takes to be a Christian:
    Being baptized
Being born into a Christian family
    Loving everyone
    Being a good person
    Going to church
God wants us to have confidence in our salvation. When you have confidence in your salvation, you have a different kind of confidence about your life.
It’s normal for a baby believer to wonder how to know if they’re a Christian and question if they’re saved. But at some point, you must settle that decision and have faith that Jesus will save you if you trust Him.
If you haven’t put your faith in Jesus, pray along with Clayton as he guides listeners in a simple prayer of faith to receive Jesus’ gift of salvation and eternal life.

Hello! So glad this podcast is a thing and we can get more in depth in the sermons. I‘ll continue to support and listen! I’m a new believer and maybe this is a dumb question but one thing that this conversation throws me off on is that if all we need is Jesus’s grace, and to believe in him, why are we to abstain from sin? If our actions aren’t what get us into heaven, then why does it matter if we sin or not?
