Not only did he have to say the words backwards, he had to SING them backwards!
Ice Flame No, he just had to say them backwards for the lips. The audio is separately edited in in all of Kurt's videos.
he still needs to sing cause when you sing a word it takes longer than saying it so if he didn't it would be off sync plus you can clearly see when 0:35 that he does sing it
@@kkhyna if you look closely he couldn't sing, because his lips were a bit off from the actual lyrics.but it was awesome to do it this way

Oh, my Sam. I had to watch this video because I was *convinced* you digitally altered Sam's face to get the lyrics running forwards. Nope, I should have had more faith in you guys. HOW did he sing an entire song BACKWARDS, flawlessly, in ONE TAKE, while also doing everything else?

yup.. sam said he spent somewhere around 15-20 hours studying the reverse audio to get the lip sync right.. he is a beast! the work totally paid off, his lip sync is so so good!!

Actually what you heard wasn't recorded in reverse, he just did lip syncing. He said the words in reverse (half singing yes but it probably wouldn't sound the same if you heard the real reverse version) and then he recorded a normal version and added it to the video. The singing in reverse is just so that it seems like he is singing normally while everything around him is going in reverse. Which doesn't make it less amazing of course😃

I thought somehow they phased Sam in as well, and used some digital tricks for when he handed things to someone else or squashed the sand castle, and then when they panned away, there were some more tricks being done. Then, I watched how the strings of his hoodie moved, and it didn't look right -- like they bounced in reverse, so I was pretty convinced that even Sam was filmed in reverse with the rest of the cast.
I had to watch this video and see how it was done. It's unbelievable that he actually memorized the lyrics backwards and in perfect time that his lips matched perfectly when it was played in reverse. KHS and Sam are both two incredibly talented artists!
