@@keatonisballin Born of Osiris' fall off is so frustrating. I loved their debut album. Their sophmore was a mixed bag and when The Discovery came out, I was back even though it was more structured than their debut. But after that, yikes. So many ideas that with stronger composition would have been cool but just a lot of meh songs.
Honestly, I think that Jason deliberately pumped the brakes on this track. That's not to say the writing is negatively affected, just to say that he knows what All That Remains is and has been over the years and wrote riffs that have his own JR spice, but fit right in with the ATR canon, so to speak. These riffs are hard, but there are plenty of players that could easily play this in the future; even the solo. Well executed by JR. This is a great demonstration of how he's maturing as an artist. I'm sure there's gonna be a few absolute face melters from him, but I'm willing to bet there's going to be more digestible and appropriately written tracks just like this one.
What a fucking banger. Couldn’t think of anyone better to carry the torch. Rip Ollie. Thanks for keeping All That Remains alive Jason. One of my bucket list love shows. 🙏🏼
Hiring Jason is truly the greatest tribute to Oli that ATR could have possibly made. So amazing to see the flare that you are bringing to the new material, no other guitarist on earth that i would want to see carry the torch! 🙌
Love that you can tell its jason while also sounding like ATR's classic melodic sound. I haven't really cared for ATR since overcome, but this song gives me hope for the future
Saw you guys in Tampa in late August. You guys actually crushed it. Thanks for stopping in, even though it was such a small venue and I bet you guys were dying in the humidity, even though that place was air-conditioned. As a fan, I love the smaller venues!
I love how Jason joining didn’t change the classic sound that All That Remains has always had. He’s simply building on what they already have and enhancing the guitars. Truly talented to learn their style and begin writing with them like this. Also looking forward to more music.
I hadn't listened to All That Remains in such a long time. Took my son to see Megadeth and he was like "All That Remains is an opener". I was like "Sweet. I haven't heard them for the longest time". Then Jason walks out and Im like "wait a minute. Is that who I think it is?". He is so fun to watch. Such a technician. No unnecessary fluff.
Dude, when i heard you were playing for ATR, i damn near cried tears of absolute JOY. Oli will always be one of my biggest influences, and you absolutely do him and his playing justice on the OG tunes and all. And this one, Divine? It harkens back to that era that i fell in love with this band. Freaking stellar, beautiful work man. Thank you for being you. 💚🔥🤘🔥
I love how you kept Oli's flavor in your riffs. It has that Fall of Ideals vibe, and just adapted so well to the band's sound to where this kind of sounds nostalgic
I fell off of All That Remains around 2010. I was not a fan of what was released after that time. RIP Ollie, one of the best and a pioneer of 2000s melodic metalcore. However, i believe the addition of Jason Richardson has revived the legacy of the band Ollie helped create, bringing them back to their roots, with an updated feel to the genre. ATR is so BACK!! And I'm here for it!!
Great to see (and hear) a player at that level play in a manner that is melodic and pleasing to the ear while being untouchable at the same time. Love the down to earth demeanor as well. Looking forward to seeing you guys in Vegas next week.
Man, Ollie was my favorite guitar player in the world. My son was born the day after an ATR concert in Lubbock at the Cactus Theater. This song hits me hard. You are an amazing player and what you bring to the band, I think, Ollie would be proud.
Freaking unreal to see this played out. Been waiting for a Jason play through since the single dropped. That hook at the end of the song is just killer.
I absolutely love the guitar I'm hearing on new AtR stuff, it's like distinctly Jason Richardson but still manages to pay homage to the Oli Herbert legacy and keeps a sound/vibe familiar with the band. Awesome shit man thanks for sharing
In regards to the end of the video, if you want to keep up a video per month, visiting sections from your previous discography and the techniques involved in them. You’ve got the best muting technique in the game, gotta let people in on that magic.
I think you can only do it from a laptop/desktop and you have to go to Jason’s UA-cam home page. I believe there’s a members section and there’s different tiers as well. Hope that helps!
What a way to honor the late Oli Herbert with these songs. Oli is looking down on you right now, and he's smiling from ear to ear. Headbanging as well. Keep this up, we are LOVING this. Looking forward to the next release. I can't wait!
Saw you in LV two nights ago. I had no idea you were in ATR until my buddy tapped me and said “that’s Jason Richardson on lead” and my jaw hit the floor. Seeing you shred all of this was a true joy, your performance was truly inspirational. Good luck in this chapter bro 🤘🏻😎
Thanks for performing 1 of the (at least) 5 guitar parts in this song. The "Richardson boogie" section is one of my favorite musical moments I've heard this year.
Jason, your technique with how you fo so many scales with accurate chord work vs banana fingers that fly around the fretboard changed the game. Without that, guys like Tim Henson and Ichika are not what they are. Flawless bro. Oli would be so proud man. Those were big shoes to fill. You are on the Rushmore of lead guitarist currently. Thank you for that
Learning this song was certainly a challenge. Thanks for the everything tab bundle Jason! Maybe I will get the youtube membership too. I love learning your riffs and solos they are all perfection ❤
Throw some of those sweet sweet Chelsea Grin riffs, the human condition is a great intro to skip string tech, you built a name for yourself already and the current wave of guitarists needs that content from a guy who perfected it. Passing on the info and getting paid is kino, have a blessed day sir.
Crazy as always. But what's crazier for me at least, is that Jason Richardson and Anthony Barone are playing together. 1st video I watched from Jason was his BOO Devastate solo and Anthony's ABR and Despised Icon drum covers like more than a decade ago. Now they're in All That Remains
listening to the song without the playthrough it's easy to miss the technicality brought to every riff here. Seeing a playthrough is mind bending. It's so clearly still AtR but still so clearly a JR inspired track.
This song is like This Calling and Not Alone mixed together with a 2020 metal mixing twist. For all of the fans since the early 2000s will know the exact parts. XD EPIC AS HELL!!!! Can't wait for the album
Your live show in Bend last night was unreal. Sorry the fight in the pit kinda ruined the ending of Two Weeks though. Hope you guys had a nice time in town.
Pros to having jason in your band: jason is in your band
Cons to having jason in your band: all the songs you can't play without him
I thought the latter after he left Chelsea Grin

Jason is an absolute unit on guitar, dude is so technically proficient and also an incredible writer and performer.
All that remains: we want songs that no one can play for the next albumn.

Wow! Just wow! Amazing articulation of every note. I'm glad I'm alive to be in awe of this. 🤘🏿🎸
The riff that starts at 1:47 is pure ear candy.
It’s just like the riff from Not Alone… but different
Seems like tribute to Oly

Jeeeeez There is so much happening in this track, it's really impressive. Jason cooking up hella fresh riffs. Solo was absolutely beautiful.
You are amazing Jason! You look more relaxed shredding than I feel playing the blues.......just fluid and precise....awesomeness incarnate!
