I just pulled my HR-752 out of storage... Had it since roughly 1990. Works perfectly as do my Polk Audio TRA-11T speakers... which is what they were matched to back then.

years ago I fried a Carver sonic holography unit due to a ground problem (3 weeks past warrranty) and sent it back with an angry letter. They completely rebuilt it and returned it with no charge. (Foreign customer)

Ive been a fan of Bob since the 80's. Everyone thought I had a rack system because I bought Carver everything centered around a TFM 45. I talked to Bob in 1990 when I had a minor problem. I felt honored to be able to speak with him. Not many stores even have the creators phone number. I still have the tuner and tape deck.

I think it's kind of funny that there is a Sunfire Sub amp in the background on Linda's interview. My old (1996) Sunfire sub amp bit the dust and I sent it to them for repair. It works great now but they still couldn't get rid of the little bit of hum. I figured it anyone could have fixed it perfect if would have been them. The did a great job, just disappointed that the couldn't get rid of the hum.

I have a carver av-405 for sale... my question is most of carver amps are 300-400 watts 8ohm and 600-1000watts 4ohm.
what speakers are these amps made for? just vintage $1,200 - $10,000+ speakers that I never find for sale?
I love how my carver amp makes my B&O speakers sound, but I just have a "little amp" what do all the other bigger amps power? wheres a list of affordable, hopefully common speakers?

Hello ! I have a Carver Model TFM - 15 CB power amp; and a Carver CT-24 Preamplifier/Tuner. Got it in probably 1997 (+/-). I have only ever used this maybe 10 times, as we don't know how to connect the speakers to the back. We have Infinity speakers, but we have lost the manuals for all the equipment. We are thinking of selling the units and the speakers, but have no idea of their value. Could anyone shed any light on this?? Please feel free to private message me. I know it is a really good system, and I don't want to be taken advantage of. Thank you for any assistance.

I have two m-1.0t so I bridged them and each of them runs 2 pioneer 8 ohm speakers connected in series so it becomes 16 ohms . But it says that the amp when bridged is 8 ohms . Is this ok ? My thinking is "it's easier to power a 16 ohm speaker than an 8 or 4 ohm speaker so should be ok" is my amateur conclusion wrong ? Tks

@@richardvoyer5697 muddy, not dynamic, uncontrolled. There is a sound electrical reason that everyone uses 4-8 ohms and usually the better speakers are 4-6 ohm. The higher you go up in ohms, yes the less stress on the amp, but also the amp will have a lot less control of the speaker. This would be most pronounced with the bass (woofers), Instead of being tight and controlled, they would be loose and muddy.

Well all im going to do is say thanks Bob! Since you closed down i was forced to make my own repairs, I just wish i had known Bob booby traps his equipment to prevent anyone but him from making repairs. If my daughter hadnt noticed me flopping around like a fish out of water and asked my wife why i was acting like that I would have been electrocuted to death!! I hope your happy with yourself Mr Carver! Your choice to sabotage me sent me to emergency ward, traumatized my little daughter and made my wife think im a dumb ass. How much energy did you think you needed to zap someone with?
That damn thing had enough kick to put a mule down, Its been 8 months and i have a constant tingling in my elbows and some other issues i wont discuss. So i hope your happy!!.

I've fixed several Carver solid state amps over the years, they're certainly not booby trapped lol. My M4.0t needs a set of mica insulators under the outputs, maybe I should be worried about swapping them myself? Thanks for the chuckle.

You obviously are not qualified to work on amplifiers therefore stick with lawn mowers and leave electronics to the professionals. After all, they did not ask you to open up the am. All capacitors need to be discharged before being touched, any fool knows that.
