on a serious note i think a better piece of advice is to "make the people beliebe you are being yourself" (whether that be by actually being yourself or acting) because it tends to make your audience more trusting of you

I started watching Tommy in lockdown and was one of those people who found him very annoying at first. I looked up the DSMP because of the incredible animatics I saw and even though I found him annoying, I had to give him all the credit for pushing for lore and making stories and entertaining content. These daily vlogs have been amazing. I’ve had a really rough time and it’s been a joy knowing there’s going to be a Tom NYC vlog to come home to. Tom, you put yourself out there, you aren’t afraid to make a joke of yourself and they’re always so funny, and I truly admire your confidence and ability to just make the content that’s funny.
