Grey Trout Bonaza ! Weakfish Fishing with Spoons

November 2, 2024 Todd, Colby and myself made a trip tot he coast looking for Grey Trout, Spanish mackeral , Bluefish and really anything that bite. We had a great day catching lots and lots of Grey Trout also known as Weakfish.

Great day fishing with people I love! I would also like to thank the NC DMF for the fine job they are doing in imposing catch limits on recreational fishermen who use a single lure/ rod so that commercial fishermen can continue to net and trawl catching and keeping both legal and under sized fish (not to mention the bycatch kill they produce). If catch limits on recreational fishermen are what is needed to improve the fishery resource, why have we been subject to a 1 grey trout limit for 10 plus years and a NO possession limit on flounder in 2024 from a 1 flounder limit in 2023? SC and VA have much much less burdensome limits on recreational fishermen. I guess seeing me letting that 17-inch flounder go brought back the trauma I went through! :)
