Excellent demonstration. I believe 2 points should also be mentioned: at least one of the pulleys MUST have been crowned. And related to this, belt tension needs to be high enough to always sufficiently force the belt against the pulley crown. In this conveyor, probably the drive pulley is crowned which makes sense (and is usually done) since belt tension is highest where the loaded belt enters the drive pulley.
