    I have been binge-watching your videos the last two days. I have learned a lot from you. I like that you follow up at the end and check things out when it's raining. I also like that you don't hide things that didn't work so well. I'm watching your videos to get ready to get dirty this spring and finally fix a went back yard. Thank you and keep up the good work!

      Great idea for the driveway. Love your content and education. This is good to find as I also have a long gravel driveway in Knoxville with drainage along the side. Besides the added expense would it be beneficial to spread larger rocks in there to let the water drain throughout or would that just lead to problems down the line of it filling with the clay washing into it?

    • @GCFD
      @GCFD  3 роки тому +1

      Probably not here with all the sediment that collects. I also hit bedrock in several places while mucking out the ditch. It's been holding up very well so far, especially if the leaves get blown out in the fall.

  • @SlackerU
    @SlackerU 3 роки тому

    That's an ideal place to test a muck-design where you would use fabric bottoms-&-sides to stabilize the road & hill. I'm thinking 1inch holes for 2inch stone/rock may wash through a lot of that muck.

    Shawn, I have a sump pump pit outside my house but close enough toit that if the pump ever stops working and water overflows the pit the water would run up against my foundation and work its way into my crawlspace. Could i run a 4' pvc pipe through the top of the basin about 3 inches down then slope that pipe away from the house so that if this ever happens the water will flood up and escape into that pipe?

    • @GCFD
      @GCFD  3 роки тому +2

      Yes! You only want to pump as a last resort. If you have fall, I would position the pipe below the level of the pump so that water drains by gravity and the pump only comes on if that pipe gets overwhelmed.

    Seen this one before, first of all that chainsaw was some kind of dull. You were spitting out flour as they say not chips.
    Secondly with your involvement with chainsaws and the types of injuries they do, I'd suggest you take a beginners Fallers course. It goes 2 or 3 days and covers safe use of saws plus a lot of other relevant topics.
    You could do a couple of vids on this topic to benefit not only you personally but your viewers as well. PPE kickback, wrapping thumb around the top bar, clearing an escape route. I'm a Medic on amongst other things, construction sites. I've not had to deal with chainsaw injuries but they are on UTube. I have had to deal with amputations and a grinder with a cutting wheel but no guard slipping and going into a laborers lower leg above his safety boot.
    Something tells me you have First Aid, so with the appropriate gear these injuries can be dealt with prior to transport to Medical Aid.
