- Here is where you can do the most in terms of seeing exactly what you want to see when you turn the keyboard on. You can set up every Voice, Performance, Pattern, Song, in exactly the order you want! No more scrolling around for the next song or fishing around for sounds! You are in complete control of your world! I am going to do addendum videos to this one, because I didn't want to flood you with too much information too fast.

Thanks a lot !!!)))) Great Video!! I have been searching everywhere this information ( Motifator forum etc). Having bought all both video and pdf tutorials for Yamaha Motif they did not explain actually realy simple thing like making favourite patches in Master mode. Everything else in Master mode but not that ( Sounds crazy but it`s true)
And it would be very helpful if you make another video showing how I can change me favourite patches with my foot control pedal))))

You can do that in Pattern or Song Mode. Just choose the VOICES (or sounds) you want for the first 8 tracks and hit the STORE button. The corresponding sliders will automatically be assigned to each track for volume.
how do i assign different sounds to the 8 drawbars and control the volume with it. im having a really hard time

Would you by any chance know how to export performance and master work to a Flash Storage device...if so could please make a tutorial...very hard to find a video on this topic on youtube....
Please i need help how can i layer my xs so that piano and string can play at the same time
I bought a Yamaha Motif xs 8 last week. I would also like to know how to layer the piano with a nice warm pad. I saw on your list of pianoes that there is a sound that is piano and strings combined. But i would like to control the brightness of the strings. Is there perhaps a dual mode.
Go to Performance Mode, choose 'voice' (the second tab on the bottom screen) using cursor. You will see 4 voice part there. Highlight the number/name track you want to change, and then you can change to the sound you want. All the 4 part sounds can layer together. Use the slider 1-4 to mix the volume layer.
Yes you can adjust individualy the tone of each sound in performance (combination). There's dedicated Equalizer for each part you can find in edit performane mode.
