My issue with all of these “magical treatments” movies, is that they never bother explaining why the general population is being targeted. Most groundbreaking discoveries in the real world are only marketed to the richest and are extremely expensive. It has always struck me as so unrealistic that companies would lower their prices to share their product with everyone when they can just put the 1billion dollar price tag and make much more by only selling to billionaires
It's more easier to attract the eye of the middle and lower class. Billionaires and millionaires aren't desperate, poor people are, and thus are much more easily manipulated into buying products.
Rich people are in general more skeptical about medical procedures unless they have no other options but experimental procedures!

OP is right. Rich people are crazy. Lookup gold dust NYC donuts that claimed they would make you live longer. Zhit was right out of ancient Rome. They were a couple of grand each, low tier. More profit, less work, to scam a smaller base at a jacked price.
Every technology was super expensive for a moment ,be it sugar production or cell phones ,but the moment other companies crack the recipe which is often very quickly , the fight for the market starts as they have to invent ways to make the price lower and lower

A lot of makeup artists in movies tend to forget that when they’re creating an extremely obese person, they need to make the hands fatter. The only time they really pay attention to the hands is if they’re doing an obese monster humanoid creature or are doing an up close shot of the hand. As you can see Kelly, her hands immediately just give it away. They only focused on her torso and legs and not arms and hands.

I think they did but they thought the worms just eat the fat in the body. So as long as you keep eating junk (which they keep telling you to eat donuts) they thought it was fine. It didn’t work out though because the eclipse made the worms go nuts and coke out of the body.

Considering I took a parasitology class that went over the future possibility and present using of nematodes being used to regulate immune response this is both unnerving and fascinating at the same time
This somehwat reminds me of a comic called The Beauty where if you take a pill, it transforms your body into supermodel looks. The trade off is that you only live for a few years after the taking the drug. The comic explores the implication of the drug, and how many people are so vain, they take it. It was a pretty good comic, until they switched artists. I think it's still a good comic to read if you are looking for things to entertain yourself. It's Image Comics... not not DC nor Marvel. If you only know of DC or Marvel, please consider alternate comic producers whose quality is often vastly superior. You get a few duds too, but you always get more original stories than DC or Marvel combined. Plus Image Comics, it's all artist-owned IP. So you are supporting the artists and not a corporation.
Ngl image comics is the only other comic producer other than DC or Marvel Ive ever heard of. With spawn, invincible, etc. they are not some small comic brand.

Fun story. I worked with a dude, overweight, in his early 60s. Always on some gimmicky diet. Goes on a 2 week business trip to Central America. Comes back to NYC and starts having digestive issues and other health issues. Goes to a bunch of doctors, is hospitalized several times bcuz he's lost a ton of weight and is dangerously deficient in a lot of minerals and vitamins. Doctors decide he must have a tumor and take him in for emergency surgery. They find a bunch of tapeworms feeding on his intestine and do a radical gastric bypass. This was about 12 years ago. Jim has never been right since. Poor guy
Ehhh he probably had a tape worm pill. I saw it on some TLC show this women literally threw up tape worms and had to have surgery.
