Staples is the new consulting architect at Olympia Fields, and he offers insights into the North Course's routing, green designs, and potential as a championship venue. He also gives some background on the course's original architect, Willie Park Jr.

Great video! however, you forgot one fo the great Willie Park designs in the US on your list. Woodway Country Club in Darien Ct is a phenomenal Willie Park design... Park highlighted three courses in his advertisements, Woodway, Mt Bruno and Sunningdale... Maidstone, Olympia Fields, Battle Creek, Berkshire et al were listed as "others"... Very telling as to how he felt about the course. Mark Mungeam did good work there 12 years ago to start its revival and now Bruce Hepner is doing more work to get it truly back to its original intent..

originally a highly racist club that continued with that legacy well into the 1980's. That's why I didn't play it.
