This is really inspiring! I did a similar trip with my three older kids, but I don’t know if we would be up for taking the little ones too. These are going to be incredible memories!
This is phenomenal!! My husband (american) and I love cycling, we did our first interstate trip from Vienna to Bratislava, about 70km and slept over in a hotel. It was our first time carrying all our bags on bike. I really enjoyed it and my husband always tells me when we'll have kids we'll just take them with us.. I never thought that would be possible. But your videos are such an encouragement and it looks manageable :)
Unfortunately just had ACL knee surgery, and Wifey is at 9 months pregnancy so it’s going to be slow for a while. But I have a Utah Grand Circle adventure we did that past summer I still have to edit. And we are going camping in the Florida Keys to do snorkeling in March timeframe. Thanks for watching!
The website does show campsite, unfortunately on the leg we took near NYC there is only one official campground. But you can always camp along the Appalachian trail.
This looks amazing! Hope I can do something similar with my family. Is this trail a dedicated bike/pedestrian path? Did you have to ride along roads/highways?
I miss the George Washington Bridge, used to run on the bridge when I was a master student at CUMC! Subscribed the channel since I am going to have the ACL surgery next Friday lol…I’m glad to see your family enjoy the trip!
Yea I hope to do that too some-day. Well, camping was free for us since we just camped at the side of the trail, but I imagine it would be even if you paid for a campground, but definitely a lot more weight on the bike.
We didn’t get in trouble… but we did setup the tent really late in the rain and found a pretty secluded spot. Pretty sure your not supposed to though. I think the only place you would be allowed to technically setup a tent is along the Appalachian trail which bisects the trail in a couple places.
So that was my brothers kid, so didn’t record too much of him, but you can check out my brothers video here: ua-cam.com/video/0sV8UbEsusg/v-deo.html He was on a wee ride front mount though. You should check out my latest bike trip video where we take our 10-month old on a 50mile bike adventure, using a trailer and Thule Yelp Next Mini front mount.
2:56 he said noooo , but winked lol 😉
Lol
Looks like a fantastic ride! Never knew that tour cycling could be done with young kids, well done!
Thanks yea it’s my goal to one day go across America with the whole fam. Waiting for the youngest to be about 5 before we do it.

@@Famvestor Ohhh good recovery to you!!
So brave!!!!
I ride here frequently. I'm assuming you found out about the camping spots via the website? Great vid!

@@Famvestor thank you 🙏
This looks amazing! Hope I can do something similar with my family. Is this trail a dedicated bike/pedestrian path? Did you have to ride along roads/highways?
Yea do it! that section of the empire trail is almost all dedicated bike paths, maybe 5% of it was roadside.
I miss the George Washington Bridge, used to run on the bridge when I was a master student at CUMC! Subscribed the channel since I am going to have the ACL surgery next Friday lol…I’m glad to see your family enjoy the trip!
Lol oh boy best of luck on the surgery!!! It’s not fun, but hopefully your back to running in no time.
YOU ARE ROCK STARS ! I want to do that from Buffalo to Manhattan. Is camping a lot cheaper then cabils/hotels or motels ?
Yea I hope to do that too some-day. Well, camping was free for us since we just camped at the side of the trail, but I imagine it would be even if you paid for a campground, but definitely a lot more weight on the bike.
Im goint from NYC to Albany end of June. Where did you end up sleeping?
Hi fam.where did u tent
Do u think u can tent on the trail wo gettin in trouble

Where did the 9-month-old go? I feel like we missed that crucial piece of information. Also, how did the 9-month-old do on the trip?
