The thumb hole action 13:31 -13-33 is a great thing! I have a bansuri (3 finger F) to which I have added a thumb hole . The thumb hole that I added can get up to MA (like at that13:31mark or even tivra MA . It is perhaps a slightly further distance from the right index finger hole so it requires requires me to keep the left index for the pitch gamakam like at 13:31 again, but it also allows for some other range extension.
