Sick Week 2025 Presented By Gear Vendors Overdrive tech day is complete! The rain messed with testing but we got to check out everyone's rides for the first time. So many cool cars here, from the usuals like Bryant Goldstone and Alex Taylor and Brett Lasala and Steve Morris to some we are seeing for the first time. Sucks Jeff Lutz is out but that's racing. Cleetus McFarland has his latest car challenge here and it's seriously WTF.
We've got Sick Seconds 2.0 prepped and ready to go.
Make sure you watch our Sick Week live stream on FRDM+ this week which officially starts on Tuesday!
The Budget Drag & Drive Challenge is the best thing since *Top Gear*
Its just stupid
Facts!
@@michaelhaag29 someone’s hating hahahah
@ theres one in every crowd lol
@@michaelhaag29 Did no one want to play with you as a kid... poor fella.
I think what Cleetus is doing for this sick week is going to really set the tone in the future for a lot of people wanting to get involved... I hope they all manage to make it to the end because what a fun thing to do... Play and the content will be epic along the way
As long as there cheap cars don’t lead to a ton of oil downs.
@@bx0fshrp0bjxI think Zach and Tye's Mustang should be fine, the question mark is for the other two cars, stock bottom ends, no passes, home built cars, borderline rear ends. Gonna be fun either way.
@@bx0fshrp0bjx- I made this same point on Cleetus channel. Hope their shenanigans don’t lead to some pissed off track personnel. And I am still shaking my head that Garrett paid $5300 for that total pile.
@danmyers9372 why? It was a good deal for the holley stuff the ls and a 4L80e is worth that! I mean it's right on the line. Could have maybe found something better but I doubt it.
Nah because of CLEETUS you're gonna get a million idiots in the event that'll just cost precious time.
WHAT??? NO WAY.. Love that guy
Great name
For Ducks Sake.
Love him even more now since he a car guy !
This is the kind of grassroots motorsports content a feller is looking for. Thank you, Tom & Crew, for what you do to promote and put on events like this. Love seeing the growth of the community and highlighting the low buck builds.
I had a 1972 El camino with wood grain like that. It was a dealership custom shop built, similar to the way Cleetus's Choo Choo customs SS ELcamino was a packaged custom that he sold to whistlin' D. Anyways, it was purchased thru a Texas dealer that did the conversion. It had chrome trim around the woodgrain and a black vinyl top, Placer Gold. It also had a woodgrain interior with special woodgrain door panels. and full bench seat, woodgrain steering wheel, and dash. At one point, I put a big port L88 427 in it, with a 4 speed Muncie M22 and 3:53 12 bolt. Widened corvette rally wheels. I loved that car but couldn't keep her. I wonder if Cleet's 73' originated from the same Texas dealer? I'm pretty sure Chevy never optioned them like that.😮
Steve Morris' cartoonishly bent valve game me a chuckle.
Shame they don’t stream sick week in UA-cam anymore. It was nice to be able to watch it during work.
All about the $$$$
How much more money does Garrett need?
@@scottpender143 Not Cleets event, Tom is the founder. That being said these events arent cheap.
@@milwscruffy yep, that greed as usual

WHAT!! NO WAYY?!? Im here because of cleet but my god its awesome to see quality of the turn out at sick week. just gets bigger and bigger.. You're doing gods work Tom 🤟❤
When I was a kid, my dad brought home a 69 camaro convertible in this exact white with orange stripes paint. It had a 327 4 speed and it was the first car I ever went over 100mph in when he took me for a ride. I later poked a hole in the plastic back window with my sled after a day at the hill. Good memories! I dont remember what happened to that car but he didn't have it very long and got a 63 Bonneville after that. Wish I had it today!
What no way. I love that he made it
@@knightsofthehokeypokey8296 thats him. I was trying to pick how I knew that gut.
Tom , and Steve Morris have it tough, being from Michigan,
Testing before this event isn’t an option.
Best of luck guys!!
As a Michigander I’m rooting for you guys!!

"feel stupid if a diff. rod breaks"
Man we've been there ! But PROPS to Steve for replacing all rods & not doing what I didn't and felt stupid afterwards.
Loved it !
Maybe Steve should have swapped engines from the Camaro and saved his parts for the week. Arm chair racing. 😂😂
Hell yeah man happy to see the butterface malibu back in action!! 🤘👏👏✊️ Last we seen of it, he just got it back together and it broke traction and hit the wall pretty bad. Good to see him and the car back at it!
Go Team Meatball!!!
Good luck in the Malibu 👍🏼
The Swedes are always bringing something fast af!

I've always loved Stefan's Corvette and I'm gutted it's scrap metal now but sheesh does that Camaro look good.
Sittin on the edge of my seat the next coming week waiting for uploads from everybody.
Drag n drives are my favorite because the community always really comes together on 'm helping eachother out to make it through the week.
So excited.
Happy Sick Week y'all and be safe.
Yeah that was an entertaining car to watch. What a wild ride.
Looking forward to seeing him run the new car.
@@pieflies yes that thing moves violently, but not as bad as the Vette. New car, he'll sort it out.
Great coverage of the event and loved the small talk with the drivers/owners.
Hope the Swede Camaro stays together and make some sick passes 🤩🙌🏻
The best videos of the year happen from this week on UA-cam! What an amazing event!
Always nice to see Steve Morris!! 🫡
Great work Tom and your team for putting on event. 200 cars......awesome. Safe Travels from Texas.
Loving this channel thanks for all you do and have done for the racing community 🎉
I can't believe how many REALLY FAST CARS are on this Sick week? Massive amount of racers REALLY stepped it up. Makes for a great show!
Awesome coverage of the sick week, great work Tom and Team!
What? No way? Shaun that’s awesome. I hope he completes Sick Week!!!!
Haha... Nice thumb nail. 😂
I like what Cleetus and his guys are doing. They're going to have a blast!
Soooo good to see Shaun mixing it up with you lot. Entertainment at its finest 👌🏼
Love the new wrap! My dad had a 67' with that color scheme
Thank you Mickey Thompson. My next set of tires on my k30 will be Mickey Thompson tires and on my Z28. Basically because you support really good people and I appreciate that.
Really looking forward to watching from Australia
NZ cuzzy....💪😎🍺🇳🇿 He'll,of a week...!
I love Sick Week because while it is competitive the teams help each other on the road or garage owners stay late into the night at a shop to make it happen.
I’d Love to try this one day!!
Good luck out there
Man can't wait to see what car you will be using. In the budget race you gotta catch up quick in the time
Thanks for the interesting update. Bummer on the rain.
This is So Exciting Thx from the UK
James going with a car he literally has thousands of hours on is smart. He might even see an 8 on day 5. Or he might not see day 2. Who knows?
Cleet's El Camino cracked me up. I so hope it's fast. This is going to be a seriously fun week. Lots of really cool rigs this year.
Have fun and be safe er'body.
Cleet is already down an engine.

Ok Butter Face I’m rooting for you another guy from Louisville! Hope y’all make it all week!
Awesome cars and people! The never quit mentality is what is awesome about this race!
For "Fook Sake", it is good to see Shaun running his Chevelle!
Gotta love all the drag and drive car arrivals in toterhomes and covered trailers. Cleetus and crew are the spirit of the event.
good luck to yall this week!
when steve morris is making art collectable pieces of metal with valves theres some serious racing going on !
Ok, I just saw someone playing the circle game! Make sure you keep up on that competition!
Hopefully we get a “fastest sick summer” this year. Excited to see sick week, really excited to be at sick summer!
Sick week is getting big, a lot of new cars and people, it's just going to keep growing. I think it is time to add a day, and split them in half, try to get 175 to 200 thru the first day then run the rest on the second day and then they'll just have to follow along so there will only be one extra day. I understand that it will cost more to keep the tracks open for 2 days at a time. But these guys are putting a lot of time and money into coming to the event. Not everyone gets a one and done, some of the drivers need time to get a few runs in, especially on the first day. With all of the new cars joining, a lot of them are testing and adjusting there's not going to be enough time unless half of them run day 1, and the second half follow on day 2. Going to need more staff also
Best of luck, safe travels, stay dry!! (PS.. Who ever won the past giveaway cars?!)
Ed Ensor my favorite car. NA glory forever. He is so humble but if he can finish and squeeze in a 6 second pass then he is the talk of Sick Week otherwise Snot Rocket looks like a killer. Thanx very much for sharing he is not a social media guy very little available on this car. Been waiting for years to get this little snibit
when tom bailey is hiding a complete socket set in his goatee theres some serious racing going on !
Budget build competition is what tom, Steve, Jeff and the other fast guys need to do. Park the big horse power promod chassis cars and just have fun.
Sounds fun but....the fast cars are what brings in the corporate sponsors, which allows him to put the event on in the first place.
Its on my bucket list to participate in one of these but my car is so freaking slow. Is there classes for street cars in say the 11-12 second range?
Yep there's a class for almost any car you could want to run. Even just stock cars who want to race at a drag strip can attend in the DYO (Dial Your own) and Bullseye Classes - where it's not about having the most horsepower or pro-mods but more about your car being able to hit a reliable and repeatable time like bracket racing. There's like 10+ classes from Gassers/HotRods/Beetles, Rowdy Radial and 275, Pro-street and "Sick" Street for stock cars with bolt-ons and even just the "Sick Ward" where you don't race but you go through all the stops and just do the drive part with everyone. You can attend in many ways from competitive to just there to have fun !
All of these drag n drives have 'entry level' style classes, you shouldn't have a problem finding a place in any of them!
Thanks for the replies guys. I have a 1982 Volvo 242 with twin turbo 5.0. Its the stock windsor block so I'm kind of limited how much boost I can run and not mess it up. Sounds like a goal for next year.
@@RabidMooseGarage Sure thing! Sounds like your setup could be a perfect match for DYO or Bullseye, if you could get a few test passes to see roughly where your setup is running times then you could decide exactly what would be the most fun for you. But if you find your running 11.0's solid for 3 or 4 runs in a row you could try to go for Bullseye. Or if you know your running a large gap between 11 and 12 then you could try to shoot for the DYO and pick a time like 11.50 to try and shoot for each day. Either way your boost/hp limit could work as an advantage for your instead of a disadvantage
@@aSinisterKiid sounds good. I’m pretty familiar with bracket racing. Got a few trophies from back in the 1980s. Not in this car though. Sounds fun.
Wish I was there maybe next year. KSR hopefully will help with my build
Never a dull moment. Thanks for the video.
Keep the coverage coming!!!!
Good luck... Fellow Colorado native here! Now retired in the Philippines.
Omgosh Colorado,
I'm stuck between sympathy but no empathy.
What's going on in the Philippines 🇵🇭?
Steve's valve would make a nice shifter
Have to do one of this one year . 👍
What?? No way!!?!?!!!
Yee haw! Gonna be a great event.
Everyone have a safe week.
How big engine does this promod need to run with 302ci Ford ?
Hell yeah Cleatus this year went low budget ❤😂
It's like when motor trend took road kill away from us. It's all down hill from here. All we can do is remember the good times of days gone by.
The What Nooo Way guy could be Beater Bombs brother 😂
That stickman valve has to be a give away! let's make that valve dance!
Funny that Tom pulled out of sick week because they weren’t quite ready and they didn’t want to half ass it, and now a year later he’s practically in the same place.
Really seems like you need to spend more time on the car throughout the year.
Not much work getting done thanks to Sick Week and FRDM+. Hopefully, we can attend in person next year
Do magazine subscribers not get a code to stream this on Freedom+?
They should have a $7500 class so anyone can compete with that challenge seems like it would be a blast
that fox body guy must is a ray of sunshine
I laughed so hard when he said it has stock frame rails f/r and then they pan to the fully built tube chassis interior - props to him for running such a N/A beast
Would be cool to see tracks have like a slidable canopy of sorts that yah could slide down the track to keep the rain off and yahs still be able to race. Like a portable roof of sorts
Problem with that is all the cars would still be wet and it doesn’t take much moisture under the tire to make them spin.
A bad day of racing can still be better than a good bad at work!! 😊😊
The blue “stock foxbody” …proceeds to show a full chassis race car 😂
An SMX all apart before the week starts? Mind blown.
Pretty happy the what no way guy is getting into the scene
What's up with Jason Sack's other Nova. They have the Steve Morris logo X'd with red tape on their valve covers???
Brett Lasala is the epitome of preparedness and if he doesn’t win I’d be surprised. There is always the Swedes but it seems that car is gonna fight them a bit
That is an outstanding idea
If you know of a channel televising the race please reply thank you!
Did Finnegan make it?
Yes they made it but monday test day was a rain out. Day 1 he hunted for traction like everyone else, settled for a 10.01 and rolled to Bradenton with everybody.
@jeffmooers2174 right on thank you
@3:30 what? No way!
To the contrary, running a 7.0 car as N.A. is exactly what drag and drive should aspire to be. Way more challenging to keep it together.
That is a ridiculous time to run NA. 👍
To run a 7.0 I'm thinking big cube max effort N/A motor ...not really great for D&D IMO maybe if they don't already they could make a class
Yeah, 17:1 compression and pump gas don't play well together, I foresee a huge fuel bill.
@@jeffledoux5439 Which is why that’s what people should aspire to achieve. That’s an incredible feat. Running 7’s in a brand new turbo car isn’t that special anymore.
@@Saleenmaverick-w9x I'm thinking it's going to be a disaster
Today was my first time going to sick week.... This dude is super friendly on camera meeting him in person was total opposite..... Pretty bummed out
Maybe Tom having so much on his plate from a test'nTune day being scrubbed he didn't have time to sing kumbaya to you.
Nice to see the differend aproach of garret and james this year.
The NA mustang is the most impressive!
Good Luck Guys
Is Sick Week 2025 live anywhere?
I think everyone should do that $7500 thing. It'd be like lemullets, just faster.
Good luck with the Weather, thats a few cars to get through in 1 day lol
Aussie Aussie Aussie
The Canadian chuck Norris is back
😮😮😮 Hay Steve why didn't you also get the extra head ready real quick since you had the machines to do it with, would it take to long???😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
I like how Ed with the N/A blue fox body ..says that it's stock frame rails and stock suspension? Then later u see in the car and see all the fab work that's done to it....hard for some drag racer to just tell the truth.....and if everybody ran in the 5's it would be boring .....takes tons of money to do that .....
So,what's your answer for the " stock suspension"?... I didnt see anything stock but the sheet metal?
@@Richhatfield9568what do you mean? The suspension was in stock when he bought it. It’s stock suspension.
That's right! Lol good point👍
What fuel is the fox body with the NA 17:1 compression motor running?? Different fuel for race and drive or???
Don't think pump gas is gonna work at that compression ratio, it's gonna be expensive running race gas all week.
He could be running pump gas on it with a decent water injection system to prevent detonation, so that could be his strategy for the street drive. But typically with that high of ratio he would be wanting to use some high octane race fuels like Ignite e90 or VP's C25 and other highly oxygenated fuels. So he may choose to run pump gas for the drives to try and keep his fuel costs reasonable and then switch to the race fuel at the track.
Diesel? Lol
The only thing Tom can't seem to buy is Driving Skill 😅
Is that S 10 with taller full size bed sides , Different for sure ✓
What happened to the live feed? No 1320 no G2k , Very sad!
Butterface is a awesome group the dad is master tech he can do anything and the man can drive
Shitbox sickweek needs to happen! 7500 dollar cap on the build, or have classes for 3k, 5k, and 7500.
Best of luck, everyone
Spellcheck on Buterface 🤣
I’d love to see that BB n/a fox body go 6.99. Think we’ll see a 5.9x outta Jeff, Brett, or Tom?
@@kevinfunk83 Jeff is already out unfortunately because they broke a rod Sunday. Brett is not trying for the 5’s unless it’s necessary to be the fastest. I’m unsure with Tom because his car has not been going down at all, and when it finally does it’s only like a 6.20. I’m really interested to see the black ‘70’s Camaro make a full pass because it looks really fast
