Litte fun fact, Wiesbaden is the sister city of Mainz right on the other side of the Rhine.

I bought the two containers for coal, I got her on the first one. I got super lucky, but I would have to say that she is closer to Flint than to Atlanta, so Herr Flint would be a better comparison.

I got really lucky this time around, got the two coal containers which dropped pretty much f*** all, then I got the first one in the sequential bundle for 75 dubs, and lo and behold, I am now the proud owner of the Wiesbaden. Going to respec my 21point Lutchens, I have a feeling it's going to be a beast.

As Killerbin called her, "Herr Flint" (seems more Flint than Atlanta tbh). Got her in 4th Container (had bought the first 3 bundles), not a bad use of 1500 doubs. Also got a couple of perma camos and the rest were all Bonuses of which you got a decent amount: that's it though, no more.

I'm wondering if Wiesbeaden is just a small hint by WG at a new CL line for the German tree in the future?
It would be fairly cool to get a small gunned HE spamming smoke CL line that can actually rely on it's guns. Unlike the Pan-Asian ones that are very hit or miss depending on the BB they are trying to farm.
But if Wargaming keeps up with how they've been doing things, if this was a hint at a new line, the T9 and lower would be absolute garbage with 12 second+ reloads on 10 guns, and then the T10 would have an okay reload but fewer guns, or more guns with an only slightly better reload, and it would still be massively out performed by Worcester and Minotaur, leaving no reason to grind it.
Heck better then jumping back in and see your ship sunk. Been there a few times also.

Seem like we had a lot of luck, i also bought the first 2 bundles (like 400 dubs) and the coal containers and got her. It has been good for the moment, that 32 mm pen without IFHE is great, also that 8.5 km detect range and 9.5 km torp range with smoke on top is good.
Got super lucky and got her from the free containers. Thank you RNG for saving my the money.

I just got mine on the second level of dubloon containers, so thats container no. 5. Thats ok id say - i wouldnt have spent any more to get it now.
Now to try it out...
I bought the first two bundles for 375 dubs and got her. Handling is a bit sluggish, but plays like an Atlanta. Concealment is crazy and 9.5 torps are great.
I set my risk tolerance at about $20 (plus some loose doubloons) and gambled the first 3-4 stages of the chain. Lots of bonuses, no ship. Saw I could buy up to 2 containers with coal, and buying one, I got her. Fun ship, love it, definitely not worth $96. I got lucky, but I wouldn’t gamble for this ship, you can have fun with plenty of others.
I compared her to Belfast (T7), Belfast 1943 (T8), and the Kutuzov (T8) for my clan analysis. And, in the end, for its tier (and current availability), I said "just get the Belfast 43." In equal tier matches, Belfast 43's 30mm HE pen is quite enough (at more damage) and still has radar and decent gun range. If you want this playstyle and have the ships that aren't available anymore, play the Kutuzov.
NGL now I wish to see Japanese Atlanta. There were design for it. Proposal of 12, 10cm gun. 6 turrets are super firing while the side are wings. No torps. Just pure 100mm Harugumo’s Main Gun. Basically Super Austin without Reload Booster. The guns are the same fire rate as Harugumo becuz why not? It’s a Tier X Japanese Austin. With 10cm HE pen.

I agree with ImpendingJoker, play her like the FLINT; which also has smoke and long range torps.
I got this guy on my third out of third crate, the one after the two coal chests and in the third one for 75 gold.
I got it from the containers, about halfway through the sequential bundles.
I really wanted her, my mom grew up there and i visited last summer. Shame my coal containers and 1 dub containers didn't get work
I like those simple camos. In modt cases i prefer them. Sherman's camo is simple too lol
Got her in the third container so i was lucky to get her for cheap. She's definitely a good ship in the right hands, it really helps her HE has a good pen so that does make her a damage dealer. But she's not worth €81

Wiesbaden- phonetically in English is V-ees-ba-den
In ie ei combinations you most always pronounce the second letter in German and ignore the first in the combination.
if you think about it in english letter pronounciation (which is quite inconsistent anyway :P ) yes, but if you just remember that the German 'i' is 'e' as in the word english and the German 'e' is like 'e' in error. 'ie' is just elongated like 'ee' in seen and 'ei' is the sound of 'I'.
Don't stick to the "second letter" rule. Won't work often. German pronounciations are quite consistent contrary to english, so once you get the hang of the sounds of the vowels you are basically set.
How do the turrets get ammo with nothing but four small squares, which is wild in its own right, underneath them.
And you had the pronouncing down the first time around, Wies (Vees) Baden, no emphasize on the a or d, just Baden. IE is E, EI is I
Lol. I logged into the game to get the daily reward. Saw that, with 50 free dubs in the armoury, i have just over 500 and thought "Not gonan get the Wiesbaden anyway, but i can try one or two containers for it..." i bought two. Wiesbaden was in the first. WG really wants me to play again, i think.

Noob question that I haven’t figured out. I have Lutjens, but only on a BB, I know I can move him between premiums and one regular ship without spending commander xp, but can I move him to Wiesbaden and spec him for that without losing my BB specs?
I feel you with the questinable internet. Sadly for me thats a regular apperance, randomly disconnecting and/or having a ping hovering around 500 to 2000ms... just horrible

What, when you net goes down, they let you know??? I've NEVER heard a word from our net provider, even when it was down for days because of fires in Kalifornistan. I don't know what is going on unless I CALL THEM.
I suffered a spate of disconnects couple of weeks ago while trying to do a t10 match. One thing I HATE is when you reconnect after a disconnect, and immediately try to enter a battle, the game just locks up, and the only way out of it is to either log out of windows or restart the system.
As for this ship, it’s just an Atlanta at t8, but at least it has useable torps.
“Just an Atlanta at t8” clearly you don’t know the glory of an Atlanta properly played with islands to mortar over, or push around and radar a dd close enough it can’t possibly get out of radar coverage and you gun it down?

You said premium.... I saw it had the white shiptype symbol in the name, which would make it a "special ship", rather then proper premium, right? At least on the armory page.
I read the info on this ship and they said they having an issue with the permanent camo for it and it will be fixed by next update

Wiesbaden needs like a 2 second reload buff, having smaller guns than Mainz with the same reload is not good.

How does your ISP cost compare to Starlink???
I looked it up, and I used to be an satellite internet installer. Starlink has a higher start-up cost ($600 for the equipment), but it looks like the basic package is cheaper ($120 a month). I couldn't find much on the speed or ping time. The fact that you're going to space and back down, albeit not geosynchronous like other satellite services, is going to add an appreciable ping time to your internet. It isn't a problem for most applications, but if you're doing a lot of FPS games, it probably isn't for you. I'll also say that you'll get outages when there's a heavy cloud cover.
For the speeds I would need, I would have to go for the business level, which last time I checked was $2K just for the equipment
@@sealordmountbatten Not to mention the data caps. As I said, I used to be an installer, and I actually have to use satellite internet at work (Hughes). Satellite is OK if you're just browsing or streaming, but if you're doing serious gaming, it isn't suitable.
