Thank goodness I ran across this video -- just yesterday I had to jump off my just purchased a week ago-- 08 G37S with a one year old battery that has gone low twice, and I thought, "There's no way to get this out of that hole!"... and I see I was correct. Thanks for a very helpful, informative, and timely for me video.
Dude in the owners manual section 8-17 battery, it describes a process for removing or replacing the negative cable from the battery in reference to the door windows.
is the piece of rubber trim you unhook from the very left side of the cowl supposed to be glued/stuck to the windshield?? mine is not sealed on and crud gets in under it, figured I just reinstalled it wrong, but now I'm thinking I must have ripped it off when I did my battery, or it was already off from previous owner
Hi, I took a closer look on my G37 and the molding looks it’s sealed to the fender. I believe you are referring to the rubber cowl molding. oem part number: 66894-JL00A. I am not too sure how it comes oem from the factory, but there is adhesive on the ones on my vehicle. If you do seal it, you should probably use black silicone. Silicone is removable if you ever need to replace the part. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for checking out the video.
Hi again, I wanted to remove the trim so you can get a closer detailed look at the cowl molding. What I thought was silicone was just a rubber tab to attached to the fender. The fitment is very snug and the rubber trim is slotted to create a seal to the fender. I’ll upload a closeup video soon.
Hi, I reinstalled the trim at 12:12 in the video. There is a groove on the plastic trim where the windshield slides in between. Try to line up the windshield to the trim first, then slide the rest of the trim in place to make sure the holes for the plastic pins line up. Let me know if that works for you.
After I did this my windows from both sides open all the way when I open which ever door , what could I do to stop the windows from opening when I open the doors ?
You can try to reset the power windows. Start the video at 15:34. I walk through the process of resetting the power window. Hopefully that fixes your issue.
