Raving retribution is coded as grenade splash so it gets boosted by Fuel the Rampage, that’s why it hits so hard sometimes. I didnt realize how bad pain is power was though holy moly. 😂
I'm glad you clarified that because info online is scarce at best. I always just used pain is power assuming it gave more damage than slapping them with a piece of paper, I will probably never use it again on any build ever
18:02 I'm glad you brought this up because after 7/8 max level Kriegs I have also been under this misconception. I always heard people say to avoid roid because of StV, and took their word for it. But after seeing a comment on that video I tested it myself for the first time. Kind of blew my mind how many people said how bad it was when it seemingly wasn't well tested
Dude is just running over mobs like crazy. Great vid, I'll have to try this one. I'm not too surprised that many people aren't spec'd into Hellborn but I'm glad you made this video about it!
It's crazy how many people think that melee krieg doesn't work in OP10 or even just UVHM. He absolutely stomps the game for the most part. Thanks for your comment and your kind words!
Krieg build with out bloodspolosion, I’m speechless Love the content man really enjoying it and seeing your videos got me back into borderlands after years of not playing👆🏽
Great build and demonstration. I've never been a huge believer in Mania+Hellborn builds especially in the OP levels. But honestly you've convinced me that I might just have been biased.
Love to see somone actually updating bl2 builds, ive been a bl3 stan most of my time in the series, and after coming to bl2, im so glad to have recent and detailed guides for my main so im not left wondering if the builds are still viable/have been changed via patch, also great quality, ty bro :D
10:41 - Elemental Elation does show, it just gets overridden by Salt the Wound because they share the same slot on the bar. Both the UCP and BL2fix fix this issue. I did a mania/hellborn build back in the 72 days. Granted I theorycrafted around OP0 so it's not really optimal but I used a Hide of Terra, skipped StV (I know.. blasphemy) and the Legendary Psycho COM. Legendary Psycho for 10/5 Feed the Meat, 10/5 Empty the Rage and 9/5 Burn, Baby, Burn, 6/5 Fuel the Fire to stay on fire consistently. I skipped StV and used a roid shield mainly because I wanted to do something different. I initially skipped Elemental Empathy since it was hard to get into RtB that way but Fuel the Rampage guarantees you'll get it back very quickly and Buzz Axe Rampage by itself is still very potent especially if you use StV and I think I ended up eventually just going with the ol' RR + StV combo anyway. Also, saying Pain Is Power is bad is not quite right. Pain Is Power is a very good skill for gun builds especially for ones that don't care for critical hits like the Carnage, KerBlaster, Harold, etc.
I should say that I personally wouldn't go for Pain is Power ever, UNLESS it was like a carnage (or similar item) exclusive build. However if it can hit crits, i'm taking it off. Harold my beloved ❤ I've been interested in trying roid shield melee builds but it always seems a little rough in comparison and usually it does less damage since you typically skip STV. I like the idea of using Fuel the Rampage to make up for potentially ruining your RTB with Elemental Empathy. I think with the combination of all the damage reduction and healing, you might actually be able to stay alive with a roid shield on
Personally I like using the health relic, because it'll save you from StV and OP10 enemies just hit hard. If one chooses not to spec into bloodbath to regen grenades, I think the Fire Storm is a good option as it regens by itself and is decent (although not the best) at creating stacks. For the Fire Storm, i find a lower level one from Normal Mode to be more consistent, as it won't kill enemies and stop creating stacks, and you won't accidentally down yourself, but a high level will take out some enemies and weaken more powerful ones.
A higher level Firestorm in some instances might be better, like hard to reach enemies, some pesky flying enemies, distant enemies and just weakening bosses/badasses.
I don't know how I didn't even think of the Fire Storm, I can only imagine that would go super well with this build! I really like health relic too, but with this build and elemental elation, the super speed throwing axes is just too fun to take off the sherrif's badge for me. Thanks for watching and thank you for the suggestions and the comments!
@@mrtx01 Of course corrosive grenades are better at building stacks, but without bloodbath, I like just knowing I won't be out of grenades :) And with Raving Retribution* and Taste of Blood, it's easy to build and keep stacks of Bloodlust and Elemental Elation.
Kreig is very much out of my comfort zone, mostly because his action skill is melee plus the Helborn tree makes me nervous because of the whole being on fire thing. I have played Krieg a little, but only in Normal mode to see how fast I can get through it on every character.
I request you upload 1 unedited hour of you mobbing in areas with your usual commentary as krieg or another class. Call it: 1 hour of chill krieg mobbing in op10 to study to.
This is the uncommon build? I think I saw it in Joltzdude that said that mixing Mania+Hellborn is not that good. I'm not sure, tho. I believe it all depends on how each of us feels confy with a built. Im rebuild my Krieg to a BloodLust and Mania with explosive damage, but never tried the hellborn before... Hellborne+Bloodlust seems amazing, but this? looks how fast he is shooting buzzaxes!! xDD I love this! Thanks for this video, i like how you compare with different items and show differenes. Didn't know that about Pain is Power :00! What a downgrade
I didn’t realize how bad Pain is Power is until this video, BIG drop in damage. I think a mix of Mania and Bloodlust is the better build but Hellborn is just so fun. Fire balls shooting everywhere plus you get insane buzz axe speeds. I feel like its hard to trust anyone who says something is bad in this game, so many things are better than people say and so many things are just plain fun even if they aren’t “meta”.
This is a really cool build. I wonder how the speed of throwing axes vs damage would compare on higher health enemies like bosses and such. Does the speed buff outweigh the damage buff?
I was really curious if this kind of build would be usable, so I might give it a shot! Have you tried putting those last 4 points into 4x Elemental Empathy 1x Thrill of the Kill? I feel like your dots this late in the game that it'd actually be a lot of extra healing (Based on your dot ticks in this example, anywhere from 40k to 90k healing per DoT tick at 4 points) + melee Krieg is bound to get enough overkill to full heal w/ Thrill on basically any melee build. I'm curious if that extra sustain is as good as it sounds on paper
My reason for not using both of those could be considered a skill issue XD I find that I consistently get screwed out of release the beast since I’ll just barely heal up out of RTB range and so I end up doing a normal buzz axe rampage. Also since you full heal on kills in buzz axe rampage, thrill of the kill would be entirely unnecessary. However if you were a better player than me, elemental empathy could probably go hard while you’re in buzz axe rampage to help keep you alive
@@mrtx01 Honestly that reason makes sense! I didn't register the skill healing when I wrote this for some reason. But yeah, maybe a partial spec into fuel the rampage could help make up for those instances (instead of specing thrill) I'll definitely test this build out and see!
Would u do more guides for him(for nomal weapon bloodsplosion build and so)? Specialy his fire version with the hawk shield. Always wanted to do that one too🙏🏻 but everything is so outdated
With the increased survivability from numbed nerves being up all the time, could a roid shield work here? Being on fire all the time will keep the shield down especially with all of kriegs increased to recharge delay. And if you are mostly throwing buzzaxes then the odds of downing yourself are low
I definitely like that idea! A Hide of Terra would also perfectly fit the theme of this build since it's a fire nova and spike shield as well, additionally roid damage applies to thrown axes which this build is all about!

@@IsmailKiko I haven’t played Amara much so I can’t say how similar they are. Krieg is a very very fun character that can use melee or guns very effectively but can’t kill raid bosses very well. Me personally, I would put the 5 points into elemental empathy rather than burn baby burn, because it is even more survivability. You could maybe use a flame of the firehalk and then a blood of the ancients to give yourself more health. Other then that great build 🫡
I think Elemental Empathy would be really good, but it always heals me out of RTB range and screws me over because I'm bad. I would really really love to have the flame work but even when using a 58% health relic, I have less than half the HP of just using the rough rider with a sherrif's badge :( I bet that would work really well in everything except the OP levels though!
